  1. I will be comparing and contrasting the American dreams of
  2. reality with the dreams of the characters from the film.
  3. In American Tale.
  4. An American Tail is movie set in 18 85 and
  5. follows the young mouse rival Maskell.
  6. It's his family as they emigrate to America from Russia
  7. in the hopes of escaping cats during a storm, Bible
  8. is separated from his family at sea.
  9. You, luckily arrives in New York by bottle and travels
  10. around New York with new friends Bridget and Tony in
  11. the hopes of finding his family while assisting in of
  12. revolution against the Cats of New York.
  13. I will be specifically focusing on example of that relate
  14. to the disciplinary focuses of economics, politics and child development.
  15. The characters I will be looking at our Papa Mouse
  16. quits in five amount school.
  17. It's to start off proper amounts.
  18. Twits prospers.
  19. American Dream aligns perfectly with the typical dream.
  20. So he is a perfect comparison for the American dream,
  21. which is defined as a person or family moving from
  22. one country to America in the hopes of becoming richer,
  23. escaping from their home country.
  24. One reason Papa is a perfect comparison is that the
  25. is that what pushes the mouse school it's to move
  26. is the fact that cats burn down their house in
  27. Russia. Thus, by moving to America, his family is escaping
  28. the oppressive nature of the cats as well as protecting
  29. themselves, since they believe that cats do not exist in
  30. America after figuring out the cats are in America, he
  31. doesn't run away, but instead brings his family to help
  32. the cause for the revolution against the cats, something he
  33. would not have done if he wasn't is at home
  34. in Russia.
  35. Additionally, although money is not integral to the movie's plot,
  36. there are mentions of having to pay a rat for
  37. protection as well.
  38. A scenes in which human women are working.
  39. Considering the family's heirloom is a hat is a fair
  40. urge, say that looking into the weekly wages of a
  41. hat and cap maker would prove that they moved to
  42. America for monetary gain as well.
  43. And the numbers prove this as males with a medium
  44. job grade made $14 while women makes $18 at the
  45. same grade, whereas in Russia the same great only yes,
  46. $5.10 so ultimately moving to America was a financially safe
  47. investment for the Moskowitz, and this shows how others would
  48. find this to be appealing for their American dream as
  49. well. Now that we have covered Papa and subsequently the
  50. typical married can dream, let's look at survival.
  51. There are many ways that five holes American Dream could
  52. have ended up changing from his father's, which I will
  53. be contrasting against.
  54. It's effectively the American dream.
  55. First option, of course, is the movie's ending, which is
  56. the typical happy ending rivals.
  57. Dream is currently to explore more of America with the
  58. main focus on the West, as shown by the fact
  59. that the next movie is subtitled, Five Will Goes West,
  60. and this speaks to the westward expansion aspect of the
  61. get rich part of the American dream.
  62. The second option is centered around child labor.
  63. This also focuses on the monetary aspect of the American
  64. dream. However, considering final finds, his family at the end
  65. of the movie is possible.
  66. That his father would delay five, will join in the
  67. work force until he was older, just by how their
  68. family dynamics is.
  69. Yet. If I will hadn't found his family, he would
  70. have been forced into the workforce air ago, he would
  71. have a similar dream to his father's by Larry of
  72. monetary Gain.
  73. But he would be more focused on his own survival
  74. than having to care for a family like his father
  75. is possible.
  76. That fiver would steal 50 would steal, even been, until
  77. he could find a job, seeing as labour laws were
  78. becoming more restrictive on child workers at the time?
  79. The third option is that Rival is rescued by Children's
  80. aid. This program focuses on helping orphaned Children get off
  81. the streets and to find homes.
  82. They even pioneered the orphan train movement that place more
  83. than 120,000 orphan Children with families across the country between
  84. 18 53 in the early 19 hundreds.
  85. So getting saved by this organization would not have been
  86. horrible for five all, but it would delay his hopes
  87. to find his family or completely destroyed them.
  88. This would leave to five ALS American dream to either
  89. be working, So he confined his family or five all
  90. growing up with the dream to help kids like him
  91. so they don't have to go through with what he
  92. did thus leading him to focus on helping the program
  93. or helping with keeping track of people in general, differing
  94. greatly from his father's dream, which is centred on his
  95. family rather than those around him.
  96. The final option is more of a general analysis.
  97. Defy vel.
  98. If you hadn't found his family considering backed to the
  99. Children's aid programme, there has been research that shows that
  100. adopting parents and schools have not provided the emotional sport
  101. these Children often need most.
  102. Adopting parents lack information on the problem and are therefore
  103. unable to offer emotional support.
  104. So even though 50 could have ended up with a
  105. loving family, you would not get the support he needs.
  106. Grieving the law, us of his real family.
  107. This would probably be worse off if he was on
  108. the streets alone as he became depressed and possibly angry.
  109. His dream could shift to wanting to die because he
  110. thinks his family is gone.
  111. You could become angry the way at the way immigration
  112. occurs because he lost his family out at sea and
  113. no one knew where to take him to help him.
  114. He could grow up and want to help those like
  115. him as I hypothesized with them, Children's aid is hard
  116. to say, since Rival is only seven during the film
  117. and he's developing mentally.
  118. The only thing that is certain is that his situation
  119. with cause his American dream to differ greatly from his
  120. father's dream of protection and financial stability for his family.
  121. In summary, if Rival will have a much different idea
  122. of what the American dream is compared to his father,
  123. he's developing in a new country and will have new
  124. stimulates deal with as he matures.
  125. You won't have to dream of protection from Pat's or
  126. getting meant money.
  127. He will have to who focus on himself.
  128. And any amount of things could have occurred in this
  129. movie that would have pushed rival one way or another.
  130. But for now, Viable is only thinking of the West,
  131. the next step for the most on their American dream
