  1. Hello everyone welcome back to school with the Y.

  3. A. I am here to talk a little bit about
  4. our morning care and after school programming.
  5. So first off, welcome, my name is Jasmine Mendoza and
  6. I am the site coordinator for Sutra Elementary.
  7. I have been a part of the Richmond district Y.
  8. M. C.
  9. A. For about three years now.
  10. And prior to that I was working for the archdiocese
  11. of san Francisco as a spanish instructor resource specialist, substitute
  12. all that jazz.
  13. Huh. And here is a fun picture of me, my
  14. daughter and my husband.
  15. So our first program is morning care.
  16. We're excited to be here, especially with the new late
  17. start that Sutro is having and free of cost, which
  18. is awesome as well.
  19. So our drop off is on Funston on the back
  20. entrance of Sutro and youth are required to be dropped
  21. off between 7:30 a.m. And 8:30 a.m. If youth are
  22. not dropped off by 8:30 a.m. They will have to
  23. wait until 9 10 when the school open circuit in
  24. our schedule are mourning part starts with youth choice activities.
  25. Indoor and out they get to choose between board games.
  26. Um, staff led crafts, um, staff led outdoor games and
  27. then we have a transition to clean up and breakfast.
  28. You can definitely opt out of breakfast if they've already
  29. eight and then after that we transition into our classrooms
  30. and then attendance.
  31. Our program is funded through a grant.
  32. So our program does require attendance, excessive absences can lead
  33. to removal, but again, we understand life happens and if
  34. you just communicate with us we can definitely work everything
  35. out. Mm.
  36. Our next program is our after school programming which is
  37. where we thrive.
  38. It's our traditional setting and we're really happy.
  39. Um I know I'm really happy and my team is
  40. really happy to be back.
  41. So our program focuses on our enrichment outside of school
  42. time. The cost of it is 100 and $50 a
  43. school year.
  44. If you are a family that qualifies for free and
  45. reduced lunch.
  46. If you do not, we do have $250 a month
  47. for our facility members which is our families that have
  48. a Y.

  50. A. Membership and then $300 a month for our community
  51. members. So those are families that do not have a
  52. membership with the Y.

  54. A. However we do not want payment to be a
  55. reason why you are not part of our programming.
  56. If you really need to be a part of it
  57. would really love to be a part of it.
  58. And money is the reason.
  59. Please talk to us.
  60. We have a lot of financial assistance available and want
  61. to make it possible for you and your child to
  62. be a part of our program.
  63. So our pickup process.
  64. Um We are located in the back entrance of Sutro.
  65. Um please bring a valid government issued I.
  66. D. That is as we get to know our families
  67. or if you have somebody new picking up and we
  68. have substitute teachers.
  69. Um just to be on the safe side and if
  70. a staff member is not there please call our site
  71. phone number.
  72. Um It's posted at the door but if it is
  73. not, if you do not have it I will also
  74. be providing it at the end.
  75. And attendance just like our morning care program.
  76. We do require attendance, excessive absences can lead to the
  77. removal of program but again just communicate with us, we
  78. completely understand life happens and then our schedules so our
  79. schedules are subject to change to fit what accommodates our
  80. students and our team Mondays and Wednesdays.
  81. We have our focus around art on Wednesdays are focuses
  82. around Steam which is science technology, engineering, arts and math
  83. and on Fridays.
  84. We empower our youth to have a choice with youth
  85. choice clubs.
  86. Um monday Tuesday thursday and friday we have our traditional
  87. enrichment and homework time outdoor play on Wednesdays.
  88. We are working on having field trip Wednesdays which is
  89. so awesome since the youth get out early and it's
  90. great just to be around in the neighborhood.
  91. We also have a schedule for the days that they
  92. are not on field trips.
  93. Um So that is more community time and really getting
  94. our youth to know each other and there are stuff.
