00:01 - 00:02
Hello, boys and girls.
00:02 - 00:02
It is Miss Taylor.
00:03 - 00:06
I am here for a public service announcement about eating
00:07 - 00:10
healthy and the benefits of eating healthy.
00:11 - 00:13
So I know we talked about a little bit about
00:14 - 00:16
eating healthy and class and the different food groups and
00:16 - 00:17
the food pyramid.
00:17 - 00:19
All of that good stuff that I hope you remembered.
00:21 - 00:23
But today we're gonna talk more about eating healthy and
00:23 - 00:25
why you should eat a healthy the benefits of eating
00:25 - 00:28
healthy. So we're going to get right into that right
00:28 - 00:32
now. Number one benefit of eating healthy.
00:32 - 00:35
You will be in a better mood, so you will
00:35 - 00:35
be happier.
00:36 - 00:37
You will have more energy.
00:38 - 00:38
You will.
00:38 - 00:41
When you're in a good mood, other people around you
00:41 - 00:41
are in a good mood.
00:41 - 00:43
So you want that, Of course.
00:43 - 00:47
So to do that, you would eat low glycemic foods.
00:47 - 00:52
Now, at this point, you might be thinking, What in
00:52 - 00:55
the world is a low black Simic food?
00:56 - 00:59
Don't worry, because I could tell you some foods that
00:59 - 01:02
are low glycemic without you even having to know what
01:02 - 01:03
glycemic means.
01:03 - 01:07
So it's pretty simple, pretty basic, even though it sounds
01:07 - 01:11
fancy when they say glow like global ice emmick it
01:11 - 01:15
just vegetables, fruits, whole grains, like different types of bread.
01:15 - 01:17
Like I have this bread here that I brought to
01:17 - 01:19
show you that it is so good.
01:20 - 01:20
But it is whole grain.
01:21 - 01:24
I use it for my sandwiches for my toast in
01:24 - 01:24
the morning.
01:25 - 01:27
Um, for grilled cheeses, you can use it in a
01:27 - 01:29
lot of different ways is just like a regular breath.
01:30 - 01:31
But it is healthier for you.
01:31 - 01:35
Um, vegetables, broccoli, carrots, celery.
01:36 - 01:39
Any type of vegetable is good for you and put
01:39 - 01:39
you in a better mood.
01:40 - 01:41
Whole fruits.
01:41 - 01:45
The key word here is whole, because people tend to
01:45 - 01:49
think that when they're drinking like apple juice, it's the
01:49 - 01:50
same is eating an apple.
01:50 - 01:52
And although drinking apple juice is good for you, it's
01:52 - 01:54
not. It doesn't give you the same nutrients that eating
01:54 - 01:55
an apple would be.
01:55 - 01:56
What do for you?
01:56 - 01:59
So eating a whole apple like this one here is
01:59 - 02:01
better for you than drinking the apple juice.
02:02 - 02:03
So that's what they That's what they mean when you
02:03 - 02:04
see whole fruit.
02:04 - 02:06
That means eating the whole fruit rather than drinking.
02:07 - 02:13
Um, like the apple juice number two, even healthy, makes
02:13 - 02:14
your memory better.
02:15 - 02:17
So when you're eating healthy, your brain is healthier.
02:18 - 02:20
Makes you remember things better.
02:20 - 02:22
So you might think one day like you're you've been
02:23 - 02:23
eating healthy for a while.
02:24 - 02:25
And then one day a memory pops into your head
02:25 - 02:28
and you're like, Hey, I never remembered that before.
02:29 - 02:30
Improve your memory.
02:30 - 02:32
So now you have these memories that you might have
02:33 - 02:34
forgot about, and they pop back into your head and
02:35 - 02:35
you finally remember them again.
02:36 - 02:38
So to help with that, you would eat foods with
02:38 - 02:41
vitamin C, D and E again.
02:42 - 02:43
You like Miss Taylor?
02:44 - 02:46
I don't know what Vitamins Air in my food.
02:48 - 02:48
Don't worry.
02:49 - 02:50
I have some examples here.
02:51 - 02:53
So with these vitamins, these vitamins are in a lot
02:54 - 02:54
of foods.
02:54 - 02:55
But I'm just gonna give some examples.
02:56 - 02:59
Fish, potatoes, tomatoes.
03:00 - 03:01
And if you don't want to eat tomatoes, you can
03:01 - 03:04
drink tomato juice or even like tomato soup with your
03:04 - 03:09
grilled cheese, Um, spinach, peanuts and peanut butter.
03:10 - 03:12
So good tonight that I like to eat is I
03:12 - 03:14
cut up apple and I dip it in some peanut
03:14 - 03:18
butter. So right there eating the apple makes my mood
03:19 - 03:22
better and eating the peanut butter makes my memory better,
03:22 - 03:24
so I can have I can improve my mood and
03:25 - 03:26
my memory all in one little snack.
03:27 - 03:29
Isn't that cool that it's so cool to me?
03:29 - 03:29
I love that.
03:30 - 03:34
So number three we have eating healthy will keep your
03:34 - 03:36
bones and your teeth strong.
03:37 - 03:40
So you're gonna wanna eat foods with calcium and magnesium
03:41 - 03:43
or calcium or magnesium.
03:44 - 03:47
And you might be thinking, Miss Halo, I don't know
03:47 - 03:47
what those words mean.
03:48 - 03:49
It's OK.
03:50 - 03:53
So for different foods that have calcium and magnesium, I
03:53 - 03:55
would say broccoli is number one broccoli.
03:55 - 03:58
It's so good and just so healthy for you, um,
03:58 - 04:03
dairy products like milk, cheese, yogurt, even ice cream.
04:04 - 04:05
If it's low fat, you gotta make sure it's low
04:05 - 04:09
fat. So you probably heard, um, milk helps with strong
04:09 - 04:10
bones and teeth, and it does.
04:11 - 04:12
But you can do it in different forms.
04:12 - 04:16
Different types of milk, um, cheese, yogurt, ice cream.
04:16 - 04:18
Or, if you just wanna have a cup of milk
04:19 - 04:23
like milk, is so good and refreshing.
04:24 - 04:25
Just a cup of milk.
04:25 - 04:28
Or if you want to put in your cereal, things
04:28 - 04:28
like that.
04:30 - 04:34
And last but not least, eating healthy keeps your heart
04:35 - 04:37
healthy. So you're gonna want to eat foods that can
04:37 - 04:38
reduce blood pressure.
04:39 - 04:41
And again, you're probably like Miss Taylor.
04:42 - 04:42
I don't know what that means.
04:43 - 04:43
It is.
04:43 - 04:48
Okay, So you probably heard adults or your parents talk
04:48 - 04:51
about high blood pressure, Usually a problem.
04:51 - 04:54
When people get older, their blood pressure goes up because
04:54 - 04:55
maybe they're not eating right.
04:55 - 04:56
They're not getting enough exercise.
04:57 - 04:59
But you can prevent that by starting to eat these
04:59 - 05:00
heart healthy foods when you're younger.
05:01 - 05:04
So some heart healthy foods would be dark chocolate.
05:05 - 05:06
It is very good for you.
05:06 - 05:09
Um, it doesn't taste quite like milk chocolate that we
05:09 - 05:09
usually eat.
05:10 - 05:12
It's like the normal chocolate, but dark chocolate is definitely
05:12 - 05:14
very tasty and very healthy.
05:15 - 05:17
Um, green vegetables are also heart healthy.
05:18 - 05:19
Like I talked about.
05:19 - 05:21
Broccoli is so good and so good for you.
05:21 - 05:24
You could put it in many different meals, and you
05:24 - 05:25
could make it in many different ways.
05:25 - 05:29
Spinach, lettuce, um, green vegetables.
05:29 - 05:29
Just like that.
05:30 - 05:33
And Berries are very heart healthy for you.
05:33 - 05:37
Any type of berry where the strawberries, blueberries, raspberries any
05:37 - 05:38
type of berry is good for your heart.
05:39 - 05:41
That is all I have for you today.
05:41 - 05:43
I hope you take some of this information in and
05:43 - 05:45
kind of think about how you want to incorporate these
05:46 - 05:47
different foods into your meals.
05:48 - 05:51
You could eat right, Eat healthy because you will one
05:51 - 05:52
be in a better mood.
05:52 - 05:53
Make your memory better.
05:54 - 05:54
Improve your memory.
05:55 - 05:57
You will have strong bones and teeth and you will
05:57 - 05:58
keep your heart healthy.
05:59 - 06:00
