  1. Hello. My name is well known to chat me. I'm a biology major and a minor in chemistry.
  2. I am a freshman at V. S. U.
  3. My family and I moved around a bit.
  4. So when it comes to having a hometown I don't really have one in my opinion.
  5. But I was raised from like maybe like
  6. When I was born to like maybe 5-6 and in
  7. the county cultural city you probably heard of it.
  8. Probably not. Most people haven't um when it comes to um
  9. Yeah I'm gonna do a little bit easier shirt.
  10. Yeah. I guess that kind of worrisome.
  11. Yeah.
  12. Yeah. When it comes to them
  13. and after that I lived in Henrico for I think about
  14. 10 years and now I'm back to that Charles City area
  15. and then I graduated in new Kent and did about two years
  16. in Verona which is a school in Henrico and two years in
  17. new Kent which was my last years in high school. But that's that has been doing thing
  18. we see.
  19. Uh huh.
  20. Also whenever people ask me where I'm from or what's my hometown
  21. and I just say Virginia because I'm not explaining all of that.
  22. Well, due respect. I'll explain it for like my professors and stuff.
  23. Well let's see
  24. when I was,
  25. when I first entered freshman studies, I'm not gonna lie to you.
  26. I had zero idea of what a freshman studies was led along with the class even was about.
  27. I would have to do anything. No disrespect. I just never heard of freshman studies.
  28. But
  29. as the class went on and as I
  30. attended it because I don't really miss days other
  31. than that one that one day I missed because I
  32. had terrible allergy reactions and it was bad but
  33. that's not to do anything to get off topic.
  34. So.
  35. Sorry sorry.
  36. Okay.
  37. The more I went to the class I the more I learned about the school
  38. and the more I'll even learn about myself
  39. like what type of student I am.
  40. I usually don't believe in surveys and quizzes that supposedly
  41. tell me
  42. about myself.
  43. But the one that we took that were was about this one or something we
  44. took called the dis assignment which was
  45. after the ultimate assignment that is right here
  46. and I'll be showing that in a minute.
  47. I really it was pretty accurate. I'm not gonna lie it's pretty accurate. So I give
  48. they're all respects to mr Crawley for
  49. that or Professor Crawley I apologize for that
  50. and
  51. when it comes to surveys and stuff it's not my thing. Like I said it's not my thing.
  52. Very accurate.
  53. And I even suggested it to my biology teacher and my english teachers for them too
  54. possibly do it with future students or students
  55. in my class because it really does help.
  56. Even I got a little bit of a better understanding and
  57. of about what professors like.
  58. Mr Carley have to go through other professors have to go through
  59. when he calls the students.
  60. And
  61. the more I tend to class the more I learned about
  62. the school, like
  63. when it comes to the events.
  64. I didn't know anything about any events unless Professor Carly
  65. told me or if it wasn't on the email.
  66. But most of time,
  67. Professor Karoly told me about the events like Homecoming,
  68. I didn't know how long that stretch for
  69. and the other assignments.
  70. Well not always, but the other events, I didn't,
  71. I had no idea about them until Professor Carly told me about him and that helped a
  72. lot because I would have missed a lot my first year if it wasn't for him.
  73. So thank you for that Professor Carly, I really appreciate it.
  74. Um,
  75. and the more I learned about the school, the more I was more proud to be a part of it,
  76. even though I'm not a big part of it because I don't do anything like social wise,
  77. I'm still, you know, I attend.
  78. So I guess I'm a part of it, part of the history, which is, it's cool
  79. and
  80. just seeing how the school improves itself, not just for its image before students,
  81. like when it came to certain buildings that had racial league
  82. motivated names,
  83. they would change it as soon as they would be
  84. discovered whether from a student or from a faculty member,
  85. which I thought that was very cool
  86. because most of the time schools don't really do that stuff
  87. unless it gets like major attention from media outlets and other
  88. things like that.
  89. Um See
  90. you know how far the institutional come knowing how far the institution has come.
  91. And no, I am a part of it. Again, I'm proud about that.
  92. Mm hmm.
  93. You see did you?
  94. And Professor Crawley has told us about a lot of stuff that honestly,
  95. I think a lot of more professors should have told us about like getting
  96. to know our professors because not just for our benefit before our professors.
  97. So we both can have a very easy year
  98. or semester to bring along the classes.
  99. And how many times we have that teacher to be honest.
  100. Um
  101. And he will always tell us about like first week of school,
  102. he talked to us about a plan B and that we all
  103. should have won because life never goes according to plan fully.
  104. Or rarely if it ever does.
  105. And always having that
  106. backup plan.
  107. So you know, you have something to fall on is always extremely important.
  108. Because if you don't, you might fall flat and you be out stuck in the water
  109. at the beginning of the course.
  110. It was very I thought the class wasn't that important.
  111. But as I went on, I started to enjoy it whenever Professor Crawley was there.
  112. I would enjoy,
  113. he would make it interesting and he would make it
  114. entertaining the way he would talk about the past.
  115. And I was sneaking those little jokes in between the stuff. It's funny.
  116. I'll give it to him. I don't love that often but
  117. he was pretty good. He got nice delivery.
  118. Um
  119. When it comes to assignments.
  120. Now when it comes to assignments we did one of
  121. the first big assignment we had was the ultimate er That
  122. was a little difficult but that's just because of me and
  123. being stubborn and not being good at certain creativity stuff.
  124. And then when it comes to like I
  125. said earlier the disk assignments so students could get
  126. to know themselves and what type of learners they
  127. were and sometimes it wouldn't be about learning,
  128. it would just be about who we are as a person and it was nice to know how I am.
  129. I know that Yes I am a bit introverted
  130. and I can be a bit stubborn when it comes to groups.
  131. I'm the last, I don't really know how to pronounce that but it's pretty spot on.
  132. I'm not gonna lie.
  133. And when it comes to words to describe myself who
  134. I am that assignment was pretty simple and easy.
  135. And I hope that you have a wonderful day and thank you for everything.
  136. Professor Crawley.
  137. Honestly
  138. I couldn't have done as much as I've been able to do without
  139. your insight and think about as much as I should have without you.
  140. This is another part of the assignment
  141. right here.
  142. It just shows the diagram showing what I got after taking a survey
  143. and when it comes to my aim for college it's that right there,
  144. I want to be able to leave feeling intelligent,
  145. whether it's through data or just being smart or anything
  146. that I've learned throughout my four years attending here.
  147. I just want to feel like I've gained an immense amount of knowledge
  148. And when it comes to quote, quote,
  149. I've been living by since 6th grade when I first hold
  150. it when I first heard it in the middle class.
  151. Those who don't know history are destined to repeat it.
  152. That is something that I will probably die by and continuously
  153. hold a high standard for an old towards even strangers and others
  154. as I live.
  155. Thank you for everything. Thank you for your time.
