  1. So I did my case presentation on john f Kennedy JR
  2. So john F Kennedy JR was the son
  3. Of Jacqueline Kennedy and John F.
  4. Kennedy who was the 35th president of the United States.
  5. JFK jr was born on November 25, 1960,
  6. only weeks after his father was elected president.
  7. Um so some demographics, JFK jr was known for many professions,
  8. such as an actor, lawyer and journalist.
  9. His life ended tragically in a plane he was driving crashed in
  10. the year of 1999 on his way to a cousin's wedding.
  11. Many would agree that JFK JR was the spitting image of his father,
  12. but he by no means wish to live under the shadow of fame
  13. two.
  14. Um so early childhood for the first three years of his life,
  15. he lived in the White House
  16. with his father and mother until his father's assassination,
  17. one of JFK junior's most familiar memories of the White House
  18. was playing under his father's desk.
  19. Although the loss of his father
  20. left his wife, a single mother of two.
  21. Her productive nous towards her Children and her
  22. caring nature offered JFK JR sense of security
  23. and trust
  24. and ultimately led to his life of optimism and hope.
  25. Although shielded from the death of his father,
  26. JFK JR was under constant protection
  27. from bodyguards
  28. when his uncle robert Kennedy was assassinated. Years later,
  29. the Children were traumatized and a new sense
  30. of protectiveness kicked in for his mother,
  31. Jackie
  32. Mhm
  33. But the
  34. um so early adulthood,
  35. JFK JR thrive socially in high school
  36. and college and develop healthy relationships.
  37. He did stay back in high school an extra year to help prepare for college as
  38. academic tests did not come as easy and
  39. ended up being diagnosed with a learning disorder.
  40. JFK JR continued to find his identity through college
  41. and got heavily involved in the college.
  42. When his influential mother passed away in 1994,
  43. JFK jr felt the effects of this greatly.
  44. He suddenly began to feel the great weight of his parents legacy.
  45. As at this point, they had both passed on.
  46. It's
  47. some personality characteristics
  48. JFK JR expressed,
  49. expressed a distinct nature of a torn self,
  50. which illustrates a battle between his true and false self.
  51. The true self illustrates the individual's natural way of being in the world.
  52. Whereas the false self illustrates the rigid,
  53. protective part of the self or the tougher outer skin
  54. factors surrounding JFK Junior's tragic death.
  55. JFK Jr was always fascinated with planes and this is kind of a cool picture of him
  56. as a young child.
  57. And so the flight that he was on that wood and
  58. end up leading to his death left later than expected.
  59. So conditions were dark and hazy,
  60. not to mention JFK JR was dealing with much stress
  61. from work and with his wife who last minute agreed to come with him
  62. to his cousin's wedding.
  63. So he was not completely in the right
  64. frame of mind during this time,
  65. not to mention he was also still recovering from a fractured ankle
  66. and he
  67. was not completely familiar with the aircraft and even
  68. denied an offer of someone else piloting the plane.
  69. So the first personality theory that I chose was Freud's psychoanalytic theory.
  70. This theory illustrates the human behavior that is a result of the id ego and
  71. super ego parts of the mind which work together to form various human behaviors.
  72. To place the Syrian to the context of JFK junior's life.
  73. The events from his childhood had a great effect on his adult life,
  74. which ultimately, whether he knew it or not shaped his personality.
  75. This especially focuses on the unconscious,
  76. since a lot of JFK junior's life seemed normal aside from a few things,
  77. but there are things that caught up to him later
  78. in both his relationships and personality.
  79. The death of JFK Junior's father
  80. at age three occurred during the phallic stage of psychosexual development
  81. and relates to the edifice complex as well,
  82. which is the complex of emotions expressed in a young child
  83. and the desire for the opposite sex of the parents.
  84. Which having this traumatic event occur in JFK Junior's life
  85. may have messed up the stage of development in some way,
  86. which can be displayed later on in his adult life.
  87. But the
  88. the second personality theory, attachment theory,
  89. this theory is especially influential in the life
  90. of JFK JR because it bridges that gap
  91. of that trauma period in his life and the influence his mother had in his life,
  92. which was vital for his development after losing his father,
  93. stressful situations, can undermine this attachment.
  94. And although JFK JR was young enough where he did not
  95. really know what was going on around him about his father
  96. as his mother protected him best she could with that, it still
  97. had a substantial impact on him.
  98. Um, and I think especially his unconscious
  99. a third personality theory, psycho social theory of development.
  100. Um
  101. which there are many,
  102. many theories within this.
  103. Uh,
  104. but more specifically within this theory would be
  105. the intimacy versus isolation state of this theory.
  106. Um,
  107. This stage in JFK Junior's life is all about owning one's
  108. own identity and sharing that in close relationships with others,
  109. which I think is something that he appeared to have all together on the outside.
  110. But again, there is this aspect of his tour himself
  111. and that very real struggle of finding his identity.
  112. Finding his own identity was especially hard
  113. for john f Kennedy JR, since he was constantly living in the shadow of his father.
  114. And I think that named Kennedy was
  115. was a strong name to uphold, especially when there was a very large target on there.
  116. Their families back
  117. and his mother did everything that she could
  118. to shield her Children from the harsh reality
  119. of who the Kennedys were.
  120. But ultimately it must have gotten to JFK JR in some way.
  121. Okay,
  122. so some research articles that go along with these theories,
  123. it wasn't a whole lot of selection, a lot of them were
  124. geared towards JFK his father and his assassination.
  125. Um So I found another article by the same author as the One on Bright Space,
  126. and it was a psycho biography of john f Kennedy
  127. and understanding his inner life achievement struggles, encouraged
  128. JFK JR studied his father
  129. and tried to understand him best he could
  130. within passing, but ultimately he couldn't do that
  131. with him.
  132. Finding himself his own unique core identity beyond being.
  133. The son of President Kennedy
  134. was a very long process that involves first knowing his father,
  135. which this article aims to illustrate and fits with Freud's psycho
  136. analytic theory.
  137. The second theory. Um I used the article that was on Bright Space.
  138. Um
  139. and because there was a limited articles and information
  140. on the psychological aspect of JFK JR, this article
  141. does well to support the theory of attachment and the stages
  142. of psycho social development in the third theory as well.
  143. And also use that for the
  144. the next theory
  145. um written by the same author.
  146. Um and it does well to illustrate JFK Junior's
  147. true identity and brings up the stages of psychosocial
  148. development and how that fits into JFK Junior's life.
  149. And so, to wrap it all up
  150. the life of JFK JR was full of optimism and influence
  151. his drive to lead his life through his own identity was a constant battle.
  152. It was something that never was able to be resolved
  153. since he was unable to truly understand his
  154. father Jeff.
  155. To understand his father,
  156. JFK junior's death was tragic and sudden,
  157. but by no means was a result of the life he led,
  158. but rather a series of unfortunate events
  159. and impending stress from different situations.
  160. A big part of the case of JFK JR seems to remain a mystery,
  161. and we never will truly know his exact emotions during his last moments of life,
  162. But his legacy and his family's legacy will live on for generations to come.
