  1. morning, everyone, that is Neil Young and Cinnamon girl Neil
  2. Young said that he could be happy with a cinnamon
  3. girl for the rest of his life on DSO.
  4. Of course, today's Monday message is a special one.
  5. It is my salute to cinnamon.
  6. So I've been thinking about this and I thought, you
  7. know, people might think I have this weird cinnamon obsession.
  8. I do really like cinnamon.
  9. I've always liked it as a spice.
  10. I've always liked any kind of cake that contains cinnamon.
  11. I've always liked the smell of cinnamon, but let's just
  12. have a look at why cinnamon is just so great.
  13. Now, aside from food, you can use cinnamon to create
  14. decorations. Ornaments.
  15. This happens to be a Christmas ornament, but you can
  16. use it to make centerpieces, garlands, things like that.
  17. Um, you know, just whatever you want, you can use
  18. it to store.
  19. You can use a cinnamon stick to start your coffee
  20. as well.
  21. Um, and then, of course, there is the what we
  22. do with it in terms of food.
  23. Now you know that I put cinnamon in my coffee,
  24. add a little extra kick.
  25. I love to make hot cocoa with whipped cream on
  26. top and then sprinkled cinnamon on top.
  27. I love the combination of those two flavors chocolate and
  28. cinnamon, and I love the way the cinnamon look sprinkled
  29. on top of the whipped cream.
  30. Now this is one of my favorite cookies.
  31. It's a snickerdoodle, so look it up.
  32. It's a very easy cookie to make.
  33. It's delicious.
  34. It's warm and soft and melts in your mouth.
  35. And it is.
  36. It tastes like cinnamon on.
  37. You know, they're different stories about the origin of the
  38. name Snicker Doodle.
  39. It could just be like a silly nonsense name.
  40. It's a traditional American cookie, I would say on Dhe
  41. then some say it might be on a sort of
  42. not adaptation, but ah, change of, ah, traditional German word
  43. that was used, you know, immigrants coming over making certain
  44. kind of cookies, and then the word gets changed as
  45. it's a Zip's circulated, um, cinnamon rolls.
  46. Now I'm not going to show you how to make
  47. cinnamon rolls because it's it's not hard.
  48. It's just very labor intensive.
  49. So because you first you have to make the dough
  50. and then you have to let it rise, and then
  51. you roll out the dough and you coat the dough
  52. with this mixture of butter and sugar and cinnamon, and
  53. then you roll it and you cut the cinnamon rolls,
  54. and then you have to put them in the pan
  55. and let them rise again.
  56. And then after you bake them, you coat them with
  57. this wonderful layer of frosting, and they're really delicious and
  58. really sugary sweet.
  59. Now American store has cornered the market on this type
  60. of food.
  61. Cinnabon. That's all they do.
  62. They sell these cinnamon buns and they sell gigantic ones
  63. and smaller ones.
  64. And if any of you are fans of Jim Gaffigan,
  65. you should look up his bits on Cinnabon.
  66. They are quite hilarious.
  67. He talks about the fact that there is no nobody
  68. has any business eating a cinnamon Cinnabon.
  69. There's no nutritional value, Um, that.
  70. But anyway, it's really funny, and they are very delicious.
  71. Um, now I think it was a few years ago.
  72. Maybe it was last year.
  73. I don't know.
  74. They came out with cinnamon coke, and you could imagine
  75. my reaction when I heard that they were coming out
  76. with cinnamon coke.
  77. I'm not a big soda drinker, but I had to
  78. try this and yeah, I mean, it was it was
  79. good. It has a little spice, a little kick to
  80. the Coca Cola eso.
  81. If you're a cinnamon fan, I would give it a
  82. try. I'm not gonna buy a six pack, but I'll
  83. probably have one this year as well, if I can
  84. find it in the UK now.
  85. Cinnamon is This is why I love cinnamon.
  86. It's not just about food.
  87. I love the smell of cinnamon.
  88. And as you all know, you can get candles with
  89. cinnamon sense.
  90. And just whenever I like these candles and it fills
  91. my house with this sent that just reminds me of
  92. home and my childhood and warmth and coziness on DSO.
  93. It's just really it's just it really is one of
  94. my favorite smells.
  95. Um, I am also a big fan of cinnamon cinnamon
  96. gum. Trident is my favorite, but there's also Big Red
  97. in the states that a number of different brands that
  98. do cinnamon gum on dhe cinnamon mints as well.
  99. Um, and so this is my you know, this is
  100. the this is the cinnamon that I buy, and it's
  101. interesting because I had heard I heard chefs on TV
  102. talking about Oh, you should only use this Saigon cinnamon
  103. this Venus cinnamon.
  104. So I actually looked it up, and this is not
  105. consider. This is considered like a lesser cinnamon.
  106. It's not considered really cinnamon, but quite honestly, I find
  107. it has a a better taste.
  108. It's more flavorful.
  109. It's It's mawr, spicy and bold.
  110. So this is my preferred one.
  111. Um, but look, look, everyone, it's kind of empty.
  112. Its's I'm running out.
  113. I'm a little nervous because it's Christmas cookie season s
  114. so I think I'm gonna go to the store.
  115. And when I go to the store, I'm gonna remind
  116. myself two Don't forget the cinnamon.
  117. Oh, yes, I did.
  118. All right.
  119. Have a great week.
  120. Everyone. Try out the cinnamon and different cookies and different
  121. flavors and different sense.
  122. And maybe make some crafts with it on dhe.
  123. Take care, everyone by
