00:00 - 00:01
Hi everyone,
00:01 - 00:03
my name is Olivia photo and today I'm
00:03 - 00:05
going to be talking about fashionable technology.
00:05 - 00:08
So what is fashionable technology,
00:08 - 00:11
fashionable technology is the art of applying design,
00:11 - 00:14
aesthetic and natural beauty to clothing and its accessories.
00:14 - 00:17
The field primarily focuses on its fabrics
00:17 - 00:21
and sustainable practices within the technological industry.
00:21 - 00:23
In the recent years we've seen examples of fashionable
00:23 - 00:28
technology such as Nike creating shoes that tie themselves
00:29 - 00:33
multiple brands, creating hats with bluetooth headphones included in them.
00:33 - 00:37
And what I will be talking about today, which is I tech where
00:37 - 00:40
So first we have Ray ban story here.
00:40 - 00:44
It starts at $299 and ranges in 20 different color ways.
00:45 - 00:49
Now what you may also think is cool but has been recently
00:49 - 00:52
found as a problem is that they have cameras on each side.
00:53 - 00:55
An article was released by the new york times and
00:55 - 00:59
it discussed how facebook is always getting in trouble for
00:59 - 01:03
their data breaches and where they sell their data to
01:03 - 01:07
so having cameras that record everything from your eye vision
01:07 - 01:10
has been raising a few problems.
01:10 - 01:14
You know what can facebook cell can they sell the
01:14 - 01:17
recorded video that you are getting from your everyday live?
01:17 - 01:20
Is that something that you would want to wear.
01:21 - 01:27
Now these glasses are not the first eye tech where to get in trouble or to be released
01:27 - 01:32
Back in 2013 Google Glass was released to the public.
01:32 - 01:34
Uh they weren't around for a very long
01:34 - 01:37
time and were discontinued for obvious reasons.
01:37 - 01:40
Uh they started out at $1,500 and
01:41 - 01:44
even before they were released raised a lot of concern
01:44 - 01:48
for people and using these in their everyday lives?
01:49 - 01:52
The most apparent reason for their discontinuing is
01:52 - 01:56
the un aesthetically pleasing look that they have.
01:56 - 01:59
Uh not only does it look very unnatural,
01:59 - 02:03
but wearing it in a crowded place doesn't sound very safe given its price.
02:03 - 02:04
These materials that are
02:05 - 02:08
used on these glasses can break very easily.
02:09 - 02:12
Not everybody felt comfortable with the idea of having a gadget
02:12 - 02:16
that emits so much radiation so close to your face and
02:16 - 02:18
after so much uprising.
02:18 - 02:21
This is when they decided to discontinue the product altogether
02:22 - 02:26
as you can see here. Facebook really tried to
02:28 - 02:34
reinvent the smart glasses by having various influencers model them off via social
02:34 - 02:37
media as you can see here we have Kendall Jenner wearing them.
02:37 - 02:41
And she posted several different instagram post advertising these glasses
02:41 - 02:44
which tried to get the public intrigued into them,
02:44 - 02:48
but still nobody really thought of these as a useful product.
02:49 - 02:53
After describing tech wear to you guys, I have some questions
02:54 - 02:57
the first being, what do you think of wearable technology?
02:57 - 03:01
Do you think that is beneficial or do you
03:01 - 03:04
think that some items to just remain technology free?
03:04 - 03:07
If you remember google glass is being released,
03:07 - 03:10
would you consider wearing either of these glasses?
03:10 - 03:12
Why or why not?
03:13 - 03:17
And finally, what do you think wearable technology will look like in the future?
03:17 - 03:20
Do you think people are going to stop trying to
03:20 - 03:23
reinvent objects that don't have technology to begin with?
03:23 - 03:25
Or do you think we're going to see
03:26 - 03:28
technology in so many different ways in the future?
03:28 - 03:30
That we are going to forget what it was
03:30 - 03:33
like to not have technology included in these objects.
03:34 - 03:37
So this is the end of my video on wearable technology. Thank you so much for.
