00:01 - 00:02
Hi everyone.
00:02 - 00:06
My name is Kaylee Labella Michelle and this is my imagine learning pre work.
00:06 - 00:11
I'm going to be using the present video tool to tell you a little bit about
00:11 - 00:15
me and describe to you why I think I am a good fit for this position
00:16 - 00:19
a little bit about me. I am a visual artist.
00:19 - 00:26
I am an educator, I am a wife and a first time mom and I am a very patient and warm person.
00:28 - 00:31
So why did I apply for this professional development
00:31 - 00:33
position and what makes me a good fit?
00:34 - 00:38
Um as an overview of what I'm going to be briefly talking about.
00:38 - 00:40
I was a classroom teacher.
00:40 - 00:45
I have something called the art teacher advantage and my current lifestyle.
00:45 - 00:47
I'll make me a good fit for this position.
00:48 - 00:50
So my recent classroom experience,
00:51 - 00:57
I was a teacher for five years up until very recently I left the profession
00:57 - 01:04
in last March um to welcome the birth of my husband and I first child,
01:04 - 01:05
our son.
01:06 - 01:09
Um my classroom experience gives me knowledge of how
01:09 - 01:12
teachers work and function on a daily basis.
01:12 - 01:16
Um So I have five years experience in the teaching profession and
01:16 - 01:19
it was not that long ago that I left the classroom.
01:19 - 01:21
So I have a very,
01:21 - 01:27
the knowledge of what teachers are going through currently um in the classroom,
01:27 - 01:29
especially with the pandemic and the
01:29 - 01:31
struggles that that that's bringing teachers.
01:32 - 01:36
Um I have experienced with students grades K through 12.
01:37 - 01:40
My teaching experience started at the high school level.
01:40 - 01:44
I taught grades nine through 12 visual arts and
01:44 - 01:46
then I moved to elementary where I taught K.
01:46 - 01:49
Through three visual arts after school.
01:49 - 01:51
I worked at the 21st century learning program
01:51 - 01:54
and I taught middle school age Children.
01:54 - 01:57
So that gives me an approximate knowledge of the
01:57 - 02:00
different ability levels of all different ages of Children.
02:01 - 02:06
I have great interpersonal skills and I'm really used to being a team player.
02:06 - 02:11
So those are all the things the good advantages I have from being a classroom teacher
02:12 - 02:15
in the classroom. The technology that I used.
02:15 - 02:18
Um President was my favorite for every project.
02:18 - 02:21
I would research an artist do a short bio.
02:21 - 02:26
I would put um images, I would make checklists for us.
02:26 - 02:31
I would do visuals step by step of what we're going to do for each project.
02:31 - 02:33
And I would present it all through
02:33 - 02:36
President which kept students really engaged because
02:37 - 02:42
it has bright pictures the way it's animated, it moves in a very exciting three D.
02:42 - 02:44
Fashion. So Presi was my favorite.
02:45 - 02:51
I have training and experience in google classroom especially with the pandemic.
02:51 - 02:55
I have personal and professional experience using zoom and
02:55 - 03:00
I also have experience using Photoshop and illustrator.
03:02 - 03:07
So something I like to call the art teacher advantage. These are just some
03:07 - 03:11
things that I really had to work on, especially being the art teacher.
03:11 - 03:16
So multitasking is the first one. I have advanced skills and multitasking.
03:17 - 03:22
I would work on 4-5 different projects in a day with various different media's.
03:22 - 03:26
Um projects were often cross curricular and covered different GL.
03:27 - 03:31
because I would see all great all the great levels that I taught in one day.
03:31 - 03:36
Um oftentimes one class might work a little bit slower than another class.
03:36 - 03:41
One class might be more advanced. So that made me really good at multitasking.
03:41 - 03:44
I have excellent, excellent time management skills.
03:44 - 03:49
Um I had to become a fast learner very quickly at the elementary level.
03:49 - 03:51
My art classes were at the most 40 minutes,
03:51 - 03:56
but typically more like 30 to 35 minutes including cleanup time.
03:56 - 04:01
So it was a challenge really um to meet all the standards and project goals,
04:01 - 04:03
especially with planning and lesson planning
04:03 - 04:07
and making everything work in that short period of time.
04:07 - 04:10
I would also only see classes once a week.
04:10 - 04:14
So that gives me all very good time management skills
04:14 - 04:17
and I'm used to being very flexible because there
04:17 - 04:20
was oftentimes lots of changes in my schedule.
04:20 - 04:24
I would be asked to supervise school activities or do things out of the classroom.
04:25 - 04:28
So it made me a very flexible employee as well.
04:29 - 04:32
And the last thing that I think makes me a good fit for
04:32 - 04:35
this position is that I am still a stay at home mom currently,
04:35 - 04:37
but I'm looking for part time work.
04:38 - 04:39
I have a very open
04:40 - 04:44
and flexible schedule so I'm very available as well.
04:44 - 04:48
So these are all the things that give me advantage and
04:48 - 04:52
um reasons why I wanted to apply for this position.
04:53 - 04:58
I thank you for watching my short video and I hope to hear from you soon.
04:59 - 04:59
Bye.
