  1. Good afternoon, my name is Fernando Rodriguez, and today we
  2. will be discussing some technology based tools that we can
  3. be utilized within the classroom or outside of the classroom
  4. for students, support some of the tools that we're gonna
  5. be discussing today is google classroom seesaw, clever class, dojo
  6. flipped red kohut and boom cards.
  7. So these tools can be utilized in a very various
  8. different ways, so they can be used within the school
  9. setting in the classroom.
  10. They could also be utilized in home.
  11. They are very helpful in communicating between parents, teachers and
  12. students. And it also provides a way to engage students
  13. within the classroom and outside of the classroom at home
  14. or with homework.
  15. Mhm. So today, the first tool we're gonna look at
  16. is google classroom.
  17. Google classroom is a tool that can be utilized for
  18. student organization.
  19. It is accessible on all devices such as your phone,
  20. computers, ipads, tablets, all all sorts of devices.
  21. It provides effective feedback for students, whereas if they need
  22. further support for homework assignments or for a certain project
  23. or need to communicate with the teacher, the teacher can
  24. communicate effectively with the student and offer any clarification on
  25. homework and support some of the highest standards that are
  26. supported with google classroom for students is creative communicator and
  27. Digital Citizen.
  28. It offers a way for all students to collaborate together
  29. with the teacher and offer any clarification as far as
  30. homework assignments and our projects, teachers are leaders and citizens
  31. within this as well as they are able to offer
  32. that clarification and demonstrate to students how to do an
  33. assignment or what it is that needs to be done.
  34. Moving on our next assignment, our next tool that we're
  35. going to be looking at is seesaw.
  36. See Saw is also another platform that is available on
  37. your computer or on your phone.
  38. It offers homework assignment.
  39. Uh It also offers practice, It has the opportunity to
  40. give video feedback and audio feedback.
  41. Teachers are able to demonstrate to students how to perform
  42. a certain assignment or a certain task, and students are
  43. also able to provide videos of themselves and how they
  44. uh completed an assignment.
  45. Which is very useful for teachers to use as formative
  46. assessments and understand whether or not their students are picking
  47. up and grasping the concept of the lesson.
  48. Some of the S.
  49. T. Standards are empowered learner knowledge, constructor and creative communicator
  50. for students for educators.
  51. Its leader facilitator and analyst, The next one that we
  52. will be looking at is clever, so clever is another
  53. app that also organizes all apps and uh platforms that
  54. students are using.
  55. So it is able to basically become a digital classroom
  56. where it organizes your google classroom.
  57. It organizes seesaw, it organizes other other apps that your
  58. students are using in order for you to communicate effectively
  59. and understand where to find something.
  60. And some of the I.
  61. S. T.
  62. Standards that are supported through this for students are digital
  63. citizen and global collaborator, educators.
  64. SD standards.
  65. Our leader and collaborator.
  66. The next one we will be looking at is class
  67. dojo Plastic, who is an effective platform that enhances communication.
  68. Not only can enhance communication between students and teachers, but
  69. it can also have parents be involved within that communication.
  70. If parents have any questions as to further how to
  71. further support students at home, teachers can offer advice and
  72. strategies to help students and parents at home with any
  73. assignments or any task.
  74. Some of the S.
  75. T. Standards that are supported for students are creative communicator
  76. and global collaborator.
  77. And as far as educators it is leader and collaborator.
  78. Class Tokyo doesn't really good job of enhancing communication between
  79. parents and teachers in order to provide further support for
  80. students and demonstrate how some tasks need to be done.
  81. Okay. Our next tool is flip grid, flip grid is
  82. also a platform that is used for educational purposes.
  83. It helps record videos for students and also teachers.
  84. It can be used to demonstrate and explain lessons and
  85. homework and students can record themselves performing the task as
  86. well. So that way teachers are able to understand how
  87. students are getting to a certain answer and understand if
  88. students need further support.
  89. Throughout that process, it could also be used for for
  90. P. E.
  91. And for other purposes.
  92. So if teachers are showing students how to take a
  93. quick break between assignments and just stretch their legs stretch
  94. out, it can give students an opportunity to be involved
  95. and enhance their learning process.
  96. Some of the I.
  97. S. T.
  98. E. Standards for students, our knowledge, constructor, innovative designer, empowered
  99. and empowered learners and for educators the highest standards closely
  100. associated with the leader designer and facilitator through flip grid
  101. and the use of this program.
  102. Teachers are able to demonstrate and explain to students how
  103. to use or perform a certain task or assignment, thus
  104. giving students a more better idea of how to perform
  105. that assignment.
  106. And if and once teachers are able to analyze and
  107. understand how students are getting to a certain answer, they
  108. can provide formative assessments to guide them to the correct
  109. to the correct path.
  110. The next door we're looking at is to who?
  111. Okay, Who provides an engaging way for students to test
  112. what they know.
  113. So if during a lesson we are, we're looking to
  114. see what students learned through the lesson.
  115. Teachers can use kohut as a formative assessment and get
  116. feedback on what students know and what students are learning
  117. and actually grasping onto.
  118. This is also very helpful because students are motivated and
  119. engaged and provides some some level of excitement for students
  120. to want to be engaged in the lesson and activity.
  121. Mhm. The I S T E standards that are supported
  122. for students, our knowledge constructor and digital citizen and for
  123. educators, it is facilitator, analyst and leader as stated before,
  124. kohut is a very useful way to provide formative assessments
  125. for teachers to understand what students know and what they
  126. are grasping onto, since they are able to have this
  127. and utilize what the feedback that the students are giving
  128. them. They can then tailor future lessons to better support
  129. the students and review the lessons that students are having
  130. a little bit of trouble with.
  131. Okay, and the last tool that we will be looking
  132. at is boom cards.
  133. So boom cards is a way for students to practice
  134. lessons. Teachers can assign certain activities and lessons that's so
  135. much as summit of assessments but also as formative.
  136. So they can use this for test prep quiz prep
  137. and just to understand what students are learning and how
  138. they are retaining that information.
  139. It is also a great way to practice retaining that
  140. information so that teachers can then provide further feedback to
  141. students. Some of the S.
  142. T. Standards that are supported through boom learning is empowered
  143. learner and knowledge constructed for students and as far as
  144. educators leader facilitator and analyst I stated before boom learning
  145. is a great way for teachers to offer extra practice
  146. to students and understand what it is that students are
  147. actually retaining through this.
  148. Teachers can also offer more support by providing extra practice
  149. and understanding where it is.
  150. They need.
  151. Students need extra support.
  152. Yeah, So overall these are some of the technology based
  153. tools that I will be utilizing through my teaching experience.
  154. I feel that these are some that are very useful
  155. and can help keep organization, provide extra support practice and
  156. are great ways to provide formative assessments.
  157. So that way, when we do get back into the
  158. classroom, we can offer more table lessons that are that
  159. are supporting students in specific areas.
