  2. Hi. My name is Courtney Mitchell. I am born and raised in Kansas.
  3. I still live in Kansas. I live in Hoyt, right outside of Topeka,
  4. the capital of Kansas.
  5. I received my undergraduate degree back in 2015.
  6. I have my bachelor's degree in psychology and Pastoral ministry.
  7. Um, what I plan to do with my social work degree
  8. in the future is to work, um, in our crisis unit.
  9. Um, here at the agency that I work at currently,
  10. um, working with those individuals who are sed, um,
  11. meaning severely emotionally disturbed,
  12. um, who are experiencing crisis.
  13. Um, I plan to get, um,
  14. my master's level and then go on to get my clinical license on top of that.
  15. Um, I also would like to do some work with veterans who are suffering with PTSD
  16. as a military brat myself. It just hits a little bit close to home.
  17. Um, especially since I lost my dad back in July.
  18. Um, and then I would also like to continue on with the work that I do.
  19. The world of mental health is growing as we know it.
  20. And, um, the position that I'm in is a current, um, supervisory role,
  21. but I'd like to continue to grow
  22. as a supervisor. So with that comes licensure. So if I would like to continue to grow
  23. and move up on the ladder with
  24. social work
  25. and in this field, I have to get my master's degree, which was my dream.
  26. Anyway, so it just kind of
  27. pushed me to continue to work towards my dream
  28. and my goals um as an individual.
  29. Um
  30. I am currently a mom of three.
  31. don't plan on having any more Children.
  32. Um My oldest, he turned six this month on the 18th,
  33. I have a three year old and an eight month old.
  34. Um I've been married for five years.
  35. Um and I currently work for this agency
  36. in Topeka called Family Service and Guidance Center.
  37. Um It is a non for profit mental health um agency. We work with Children and families.
  38. Um And my current role there is I am a
  39. school and outreach supervisor. So I manage the attendant care providers
  40. and the psychosocial group providers in the schools here in Topeka.
  41. So we serve over 19 schools here in Topeka
  42. and um over 200 kiddos.
  43. So I just get to work with um some
  44. wonderful individuals and serve those kiddos who are on
  45. the sed waiver, um and who are sed meaning severely emotionally disturbed.
