00:02 - 00:02
Hi, welcome.
00:03 - 00:03
This is Megan bailey.
00:04 - 00:06
I'm the senior coordinator here at the career catalyst unit
00:07 - 00:10
for the workforce development team at the Foundation for California
00:11 - 00:11
Community Colleges.
00:12 - 00:14
I just wanted to share with you really quickly how
00:14 - 00:15
to use the google.
00:15 - 00:19
Jam board will be using it in our upcoming community
00:19 - 00:22
of practice meeting in a breakout collaboration whiteboard space.
00:25 - 00:25
Oh. Mhm.
00:26 - 00:27
So what is jam board?
00:28 - 00:31
Uh If you haven't ever used jam board before, I
00:31 - 00:31
don't know what it is.
00:32 - 00:35
A jam board is a digital interactive whiteboard developed by
00:35 - 00:38
google to work with google workspace, formerly known as G
00:39 - 00:44
Suite. Let's take a look.
00:46 - 00:48
This is the Jam ford home frame.
00:51 - 00:54
You can see in this frame that there is a
00:55 - 00:56
navigation tool right at the top.
00:57 - 00:59
It has the name of the jam board to the
00:59 - 01:01
left next to the yellow circle.
01:02 - 01:06
Um It also has a tool that you can zoom
01:06 - 01:06
up in.
01:07 - 01:08
We'll talk about that more later.
01:09 - 01:11
Uh It does have a question already built into this
01:11 - 01:14
and this will be in your practice jam board that
01:14 - 01:17
I'll be sending you the link to and then of
01:17 - 01:19
course I've provided some instructions on that johN board in
01:20 - 01:22
the blue stickies on the left hand side and how
01:22 - 01:27
to use the stickies, the white space around or just
01:27 - 01:29
to the left or to the right of those stickies.
01:29 - 01:32
That's really our jam board space and you can see
01:32 - 01:33
from the navigation above.
01:33 - 01:36
We have multiple pages or frames that we can use
01:36 - 01:39
and enter in sticky notes more to come.
01:44 - 01:45
So let's take a look at the Jam board tools.
01:48 - 01:50
This is the general tool parts to the left of
01:51 - 01:53
the entire list of toolbars tools.
01:55 - 01:58
Sorry. Um we'll be primarily using the sticky, the text
01:58 - 02:01
box and probably the slight tools that you can move
02:01 - 02:03
your stickies or text boxes around the space.
02:07 - 02:08
Let's take a quick look at the Jam board navigation
02:09 - 02:12
zoom tool, so if you're like me, you may need
02:12 - 02:14
to zoom up a little bit closer in order to
02:14 - 02:16
see what's been written on the either the sticky notes
02:17 - 02:18
for other people or for yourself.
02:19 - 02:21
The Jam board zoom tool is up in the upper
02:22 - 02:23
left corner of your jam board and you can use
02:23 - 02:25
the plus sign or you use a percentage to zoom
02:26 - 02:26
in and out.
02:27 - 02:29
The navigation tool is also at the very top center
02:30 - 02:34
of your your jam board and in this case you
02:34 - 02:36
can see that I've set up three different frames for
02:36 - 02:37
our practice jam board.
02:38 - 02:39
You can create many more.
02:39 - 02:41
So for instance, if all three frames filled up and
02:41 - 02:43
you needed more space, you can just click the carrot
02:44 - 02:46
to the right and at that point it will add
02:47 - 02:47
a new frame.
02:50 - 02:51
So that's jam board basics.
02:51 - 02:52
I hope you enjoyed it.
02:52 - 02:54
And I will send you the link.
02:54 - 02:56
So please click on your link for your Jam board
02:56 - 02:59
practice for the community of practice coming up here and
03:00 - 03:01
there is a question in there.
03:02 - 03:04
If you could kindly use a sticky note and post
03:04 - 03:06
your answer so that you get used to using the
03:06 - 03:08
jam board, Thank you so much.
03:08 - 03:10
Have a good afternoon and see a community of practice.
