  2. discuss the very exciting new children's novel straight from France
  3. King Charlie by Delphine Peasant.
  4. It was originally published just last year in 2020, in
  5. original French.
  6. It tells the story of a young, spoiled, perhaps a
  7. little bit bratty nine year old boy, very precocious named
  8. charlie who lives a life of luxury, gets everything he
  9. wants from his parents, um doesn't have a care in
  10. the world except for maybe that he doesn't have the

  13. But other than that, he lived a very charmed life
  14. until one day he turns into a king trial spaniel
  15. and has to recruit the neighborhood dogs in a help
  16. in an attempt to sure find his way back into
  17. being a human and all of the mischief that they
  18. get into in the meanwhile, I personally was really drawn
  19. to this novel because I myself have an adorable, nearly
  20. two year old cavalier King Charles spaniel who looks identical
  21. to the cute little dog on the cover.
  22. So, I have a personal interest in the subject, as
  23. does the author who has a cavalier of her own.
  24. So we are connected in that way, but it's also
  25. a very sweet and um entertaining book for a very
  26. specific age range.
  27. Um around nine years old is how old the protagonist
  28. is, and that's also the intended audience.
  29. It's really like a kid's first real chapter book, which,
  30. when I'm thinking back to my experience, is learning to
  31. fall how to fall in love with reading.
  32. This was a really exciting period of time and I
  33. was devouring books and when I came across a book
  34. that didn't talk down to me was entertaining, but also
  35. at an appropriate age range, I found that really exciting.
  36. And I know that you at Amazon Crossing are also
  37. looking for books of this genre of this age range.
  38. Um as it is front and center on your web
  39. page Children's books, so it's clearly a really big and
  40. blossoming category.
  41. Um Payson is a relatively new author.
  42. She has two other novels of around this target age
  43. range and genre and she's also not afraid to tackle
  44. some pretty tricky subject.
  45. She talks about dyslexia and maybe some trouble in school
  46. kids that don't necessarily fit in, but that have really
  47. happy endings and serve great lessons.
  48. So not only are they entertaining, but they provide some
  49. learning opportunities for the Children.
  50. Um, she is affiliated with this really new and exciting
  51. publishing house in the country, which in France part of
  52. me, which is very cutely named Pope Fictions poop meaning
  53. octopus in french.
  54. So they have a mascot of an octopus.
  55. And the exciting thing about this uh publishing house is
  56. that they have a slew of other novels.
  57. So should king charlie find the success that I know
  58. it could have here in the U.

  60. and Children's books um For every age range starting from
  61. the very youngest to young adult fiction.
  62. Um So there is a great resource in fictions.
  63. Um And with that you know once you get hooked
  64. as a young reader um at such a young age
  65. you would be helping you know create lifelong readers lifelong
  66. learners. And I think that is what makes King charlie
  67. a perfect option for publishing at amazon Crossing.
