In 1989 she killed a man who had picked her up
01:30 - 01:33
after killing the total of five men.
01:33 - 01:36
Eileen found a forever home in Florida State prison
01:36 - 01:39
where she was convicted and placed on death row.
01:41 - 01:44
Eileen was 33 years old when she committed her first crime.
01:46 - 01:50
Eileen committed crimes for a year and then was later convicted.
01:50 - 01:52
She died at the age of 46 years old.
01:54 - 01:59
From late 1989 through late 1990 the bodies of
01:59 - 02:03
seven middle-aged white men were discovered in Central Florida.
02:03 - 02:06
The salient had robbed all of the victims before
02:06 - 02:09

02:10 - 02:13
Eileen's first victim was known as Richard Mallory.
02:14 - 02:20

03:19 - 03:23
a 50 year old salesman on August 4th, 1990
03:24 - 03:27
less than a week after he was reported missing
03:27 - 03:32
though the body was fairly discomposed. The medical examiner was able to determine
03:32 - 03:36
that the cause of death was two gunshots in the torso.
03:38 - 03:43
Eileen's fifth victim was known as a retired air force major police chief
03:44 - 03:48
and Florida child abuse investigator Dick Humphries.
03:48 - 03:53
He was found dead in Marion County on September 12th, 1990
03:53 - 03:58
the body was fully clothed and had suffered multiple gunshots to the head and torso.
03:59 - 04:01
Humphrey's car was later found
04:01 - 04:02

04:02 - 04:03
County.
04:05 - 04:09
65 year old Peter Simmons left central Florida and
04:09 - 04:11
headed for New Jersey in the June of 1990.
04:12 - 04:16
His car was found in Orange Springs on July 4th 1990.
04:17 - 04:19
Though simmons' body has never been found.
04:19 - 04:24
Witnesses described two women near the car in Orange Springs.
04:26 - 04:30
Eileen's last and final victim was known as Walter Antonio.
04:31 - 04:35
The partly disrobed body of Walter Antonio.
04:35 - 04:36
A 62
04:36 - 04:40
year old man was found November 19th, 1990
04:41 - 04:43
in a remote part of Dixie County, he
04:43 - 04:46
had been shot four times in the back and the head.
04:47 - 04:50
Antonio's car was found five days later in Bred
04:50 - 04:51
County.
04:53 - 04:53
Brunos
04:54 - 04:56
moved to Florida to work as a prostitute.
04:56 - 04:59
She frequently was in trouble with the law for
04:59 - 05:03
being a prostitute and having committed other crimes.
05:03 - 05:07
By 1991 her record included among other felonies
05:07 - 05:11
and misdemeanors arrests for illegal possession of firearms,
05:11 - 05:13
forgery, assault and robbery.
05:14 - 05:17
Her associates and law enforcement personnel often describes
05:17 - 05:20
her as an erratic and easily angered woman.
05:21 - 05:25
Peas rest records frankly noted that she had a poor attitude.
05:26 - 05:27
In 1986
05:27 - 05:31
Oros met Tyra Moore at a bar in Daytona Beach, Florida.
05:31 - 05:35
They began an intense romantic relationship that
05:35 - 05:38
ended just before Eileen's final arrest.
05:38 - 05:39
In 1991
05:40 - 05:42
Eileen's relationship with Moore
05:43 - 05:45
was her second relationship with the woman
05:45 - 05:51
as a prostitute. Her clients were mainly middle age, low to middle class white men.
05:53 - 05:54
Together. We
05:54 - 05:58
and Tyra Moore sold stolen items at Florida's pawn shops.
05:59 - 06:01
During the murder investigations.
06:01 - 06:06
Lusa County police discovered items belonging to Mi Richard Mallory
06:07 - 06:10
at a local pawn shop with the receipt showing Eileen's thumbprint.
06:11 - 06:16
Police then traced other stolen items from Mallory to Eileen.
06:16 - 06:21
A camera from Mallory's automobile was found inside a rented warehouse unit
06:22 - 06:24
which was opened with the key taken from Eileen.
06:25 - 06:27
Eileen had rented the unit
06:27 - 06:28
under an all
06:29 - 06:32
police traced other items from Mallory's car
06:32 - 06:34
to people or pawn shops.
06:36 - 06:37
By 1990
06:38 - 06:43
Tyra Moore had become suspicious if not fully aware of Eileen's activities.
06:44 - 06:48
Moore moved in with her family in Pennsylvania when Eileen was arrested
06:48 - 06:51
on an outstanding warrant at a biker bar in Harbor Oaks,
06:51 - 06:52
Florida.
06:52 - 06:57
Police tracked Moore down and used her to elicit confession from Eileen.
07:00 - 07:02
Eileen was charged with the first degree murder of
07:02 - 07:06
Richard Mallory armed robbery with the firearm or deadly weapon
07:06 - 07:09
and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
07:10 - 07:14
Prosecutors argued Eileen qualified for the death penalty
07:14 - 07:18
based on the charge of murder committed in the course of a robbery.
07:18 - 07:22
This was the only murder charge against Eileen that went to trial.
07:23 - 07:27
The other murders ended with guilty or no contest. Please.
07:28 - 07:31
Eileen pleaded guilty to the murder of Charles and
07:31 - 07:34
received her fifth death sentence in February 1993.
07:35 - 07:38
She pleaded guilty to the second murder of Eileen Antonio
07:39 - 07:41
and was again sentenced to death.
07:41 - 07:43
During her plea to the court,
07:43 - 07:46
she held her statement that Mallory had raped her
07:46 - 07:48
in a rambling statement. She said
07:49 - 07:55
I wanted to confess to you that Richard Mallory did finally rape me as I've told you.
07:55 - 07:56
But these others did not.
07:56 - 07:59
They only began to start to
07:59 - 08:06
on May 15th 1993. Judge Thomas rendered three more death sentences for Eileen.
08:09 - 08:13
Eileen had a not so normal and a pretty rough childhood
08:14 - 08:16
um to say the least
08:16 - 08:22
her parents were unstable and her brother, her and her brother did not grow up
08:22 - 08:23
uh with her parents.
08:24 - 08:30
Uh Her father growing up was convicted of child molestation after her birth
08:30 - 08:34
and then a few years after he ended up killing himself in prison,
08:35 - 08:40
um her mother abandoned her and her brother when they were young.
08:40 - 08:41
Uh So
08:42 - 08:46
they didn't have anyone to go with besides her grandparents.
08:46 - 08:51
So they ended up, uh, living with both grandma and grandpa. Her and her brother,
08:51 - 08:52
um,
08:52 - 08:55
and her grandparents weren't,
08:55 - 09:00
uh, stable as well as how her parents were.
09:00 - 09:04
Her grandmother was known as an alcoholic and then her grandfather was
09:05 - 09:07
apparently known to like, beat her.
09:08 - 09:09
Um,
09:10 - 09:12
so eventually
09:13 - 09:16
she was thrown out of her home as a teen for many reasons,
09:16 - 09:17
including
09:18 - 09:22
10 years old. She started to trade sexual favors for money
09:22 - 09:24
for alcohol, for cigarettes.
09:24 - 09:27
And then she also ended up having her only
09:28 - 09:31
child only and for child at 14 years old,
09:32 - 09:33
um,
09:33 - 09:37
which was believed to have been a child that
09:37 - 09:40
she conceived with,
09:40 - 09:44
um, an older friend of her grandfather's,
09:44 - 09:48
uh, while she was like living with him and her grandmother,
09:50 - 09:54
uh, while she was like, living with him and her grandmother.
09:55 - 09:59
So the child was eventually given up for adoption,
09:59 - 10:03
um, because she wasn't able to support the kid
10:03 - 10:05
and she was really young
10:05 - 10:06
and she couldn't,
10:06 - 10:08
um, have a child.
10:08 - 10:10
So after that,
10:11 - 10:16
being like, kicked away, like, kicked off, kicked them out of the home
10:16 - 10:21
when she was 14. That's when her grandparents decided to kick her out.
10:21 - 10:22
And then
10:23 - 10:29
she moved to Florida once her brother died in the early 19 eighties
10:29 - 10:32
and she started to work as a prostitute.
10:33 - 10:38
Um, and then when she started working as a prostitute is when all of the like,
10:38 - 10:41
crimes and murders that she committed were taking place was
10:43 - 10:45
applicable theories.
10:47 - 10:49
Eileen used a flight or fight
10:50 - 10:54
nose exhibited the flight response when being confronted by her victims.
10:58 - 11:02
Well, she could have had counseling at a young age after her rape.
11:03 - 11:06
She could seek social support.
11:07 - 11:10
She could have also attended support groups where
11:10 - 11:12
she could have been in a group setting,
11:12 - 11:15
hearing other people's stories about being raped.
11:15 - 11:18
So she could understand that she was not the only one
11:18 - 11:22
that this happened to and she could get a better understanding on how to
11:22 - 11:24
cope with her trauma.
11:25 - 11:28
She could have also received mental health services which could
11:28 - 11:32
have helped provide her with therapy and psychological services.
11:32 - 11:36
Another important thing was that she really needed a stable home environment.
11:39 - 11:40
The day Eileen Warno
11:40 - 11:42
was first sexually assaulted.
11:42 - 11:45
She should have been helped and not kicked out of her home
11:45 - 11:48
life can become distraught when you are ignored.
11:48 - 11:51
After telling others you have been sexually abused.
11:51 - 11:56
I speak from personal experience in the absence of love and
11:56 - 11:59
care from people you thought were supposed to care for you.
11:59 - 12:01
Trust begins to crumble
12:01 - 12:04
and you begin to care less about yourself since
12:04 - 12:07
no one else around you seems to care either.
12:07 - 12:09
This is how Eileen must have begun to feel
12:10 - 12:12
when it comes to crimes she committed,
12:12 - 12:16
it was due to her trauma and she experienced the fight response.
12:16 - 12:19
There is no excuse to commit murder.
12:20 - 12:22
This is why Eileen was sentenced to death.
12:22 - 12:26
Eileen was also under the influence which caused her to be
12:26 - 12:28
aggressive and violent.
12:28 - 12:30
It was her way of surviving since she felt
12:30 - 12:33
all alone since she was first sexually assaulted.
12:34 - 12:37
If Eileen had been believed and helped from the very beginning,
12:37 - 12:40
she would have had the support and resources
12:40 - 12:43
to help her with overcoming the sexual abuse.
12:44 - 12:46
She would have begun treatments such as therapy
12:46 - 12:50
and other healing guidance for sexually abused victims.
12:50 - 12:54
Instead, she was treated as a perpetrator and blamed for what happened to her.
