  1. My name is Jocelyn Germany's Rivera,
  2. and this is my multi audience final project on gender equality and documents.
  3. The issue I am presenting
  4. is should America justify the addition of two or more genders and legal documents?
  5. A gender is a characteristic used to describe a person based on their sex.
  6. Currently, in most states, the only two genders
  7. that are available in official documents are male and female.
  8. This is a problem for the L G B T Q community because it violates their gender
  9. equalities.
  10. When a member of the LGBT community
  11. is brought to a place
  12. such as the doctors,
  13. they are often faced
  14. With the impression that there is only two genders listed on there
  15. and both of these genders do not
  16. apply to them.
  17. This can be a real step back for them.
  18. Over the years, America has
  19. legalized same sex marriage in the United States.
  20. This was a big accomplishment for the LGBT community,
  21. but now another issue is being presented
  22. the issue
  23. of allowing multiple genders in an official document
  24. Four different perspectives from four different articles
  25. can be found when looking into this issue, such as
  26. perspective from the LGBTQ community religious community,
  27. state laws and majority vote.
  28. In this presentation,
  29. I will discuss the four distinct viewpoints on gender opinions
  30. for legalization and documents.
  31. Uh huh.
  32. The article. Transgender Third Gender, no gender. Part two was written by Nella
  33. Gosh Lula.
  34. She agrees that there should be
  35. multiple genders
  36. in documents. Not only does this
  37. benefit the safety of that individual,
  38. but it also
  39. allows them to feel respected and valued,
  40. She states.
  41. Race or gender markers do not create any additional clarity when
  42. a person's appearance does not match stereotypes associated with the marker
  43. there. Document bears
  44. Every time
  45. a member of the LGBTQ community is profiled for what their
  46. gender says on a document which does not portraying to them,
  47. they are
  48. put at severe risk of harm.
  49. This article gives a personal point of view as the
  50. people who have been suffering through with this issue.
  51. The article What does the Bible Say about transgender people?
  52. Is written by Osten Heart, Keep and Miles Mark camp.
  53. They disagree with
  54. multiple genders in documents
  55. mostly from the verses of the Bible.
  56. Genesis 1 27 says so God created humankind in
  57. his image in the image of God he created them
  58. male and female. He created them
  59. in the religion of Christianity.
  60. Multiple genders
  61. are not supported.
  62. Also in Dirt, Toranaga, Me 22 5
  63. it states that a woman's clothing should only be worn by women,
  64. and men's clothing should only be worn by men.
  65. These verses give a specific
  66. discussion based on the topic
  67. in some
  68. 1,, 13 and 14.
  69. It gives a reference of being wonderfully made in the womb.
  70. Christianity believes that God is perfect and
  71. cape and unq a possible of making mistakes
  72. by allowing multiple genders to be displayed in an official document.
  73. Christianity believes
  74. that they would
  75. b
  76. against God wishes
  77. and demonstrate his image as imperfect and capable of making mistakes.
  78. Although Christianity is a very closed practice
  79. coming from Bible verses,
  80. it states both sides of the argument, which state that
  81. certain verses can be opened to discussion based on the wordings,
  82. a statement from the article
  83. said. Transgender and non violent Mary people pursue physical change
  84. not as an act of revulsion but as an expression of being committed to integrity,
  85. embody and spirit.
  86. The article states,
  87. should not use religious beliefs to justify women and LGBTQ rights violations
  88. written by an unknown author, states
  89. that multiple genders should not be allowed
  90. in America. Each state decides what a woman
  91. can or cannot do with their bodies, such as abortion.
  92. This topic is controversial and often put to vote by random people.
  93. The article believes
  94. that it should be the exact states
  95. who put a vote on this to make actions
  96. because not every state has the same kind of people.
  97. Some states are considered Democrats, and some are considered Republicans,
  98. which would give off
  99. a different viewpoint for each of the state.
  100. When a president declares their presidency that a law will change,
  101. a new president who enters the country is allowed to change it back.
  102. How can there be any change in actions or thoughts
  103. when it is repeatedly being reverted to its original form?
  104. The article states that this is why
  105. states should be in full control of how their laws play out,
  106. especially when it comes to gender laws.
  107. It takes multiple perspectives to figure out and apply a solution to a problem.
  108. In the article,
  109. about four and 10 US adults say form should offer more than two gender options
  110. and by Nikki graph. It agrees that multiple genders would be a good idea.
  111. In a chart included in this article, 53% of young adults agreed on this issue.
  112. The majority of these votes were brought by young people,
  113. as the author states.
  114. These changes follow decisions by some popular
  115. social media platforms to offer their own
  116. non binary gender options.
  117. Young adults are the future leaders of this
  118. country.
  119. They not only see an issue, but they resolve an issue. Young adults are often the ones
  120. who have experienced more
  121. of the LGBT community.
  122. The LGBT community is brought more now than it has in the past years.
  123. This can be due to discrimination held by older generations.
  124. When younger adults start to reproduce and
  125. the older generations start to fall down,
  126. the numbers will grow to be more in agreement with the issue
  127. signifying the future.
  128. I've agreement in multiple genders
  129. in official documents.
  130. Overall,
  131. these four articles agreed and disagreed that there
  132. should be multiple genders in an official document.
  133. The views of the LGBT community were given
  134. based on the safety and protection
  135. I'm feeling to be hurt
  136. as the people who are
  137. the face of this issue. Their opinion matters.
  138. The references from the religious community and their Bible verses
  139. demonstrate that there should only be two genders acknowledged
  140. when including more than just the female and male genders.
  141. It gives a sign of disrespect to God as the creator of all
  142. state. Laws should be based on each state's decision
  143. based on their own community of people and should not be processed because nothing
  144. could
  145. occur
  146. to develop the change.
  147. And lastly,
  148. based on percentages that agreed that multiple gender option should be included,
  149. Was higher on ages 18 through 29.
  150. This means that the younger people will end up outliving those who are older
  151. and in the history of gender openness will transcend into a different percentages.
  152. Although there is no correct or certain answer
  153. to multiple genders in an official document,
  154. each perspective gave their compelling argument to the problem.
