00:00 - 00:03
Hi, My name is Cameron Johnson in my childhood memoir
00:04 - 00:15
is called Seasons of Death, Grieving and Healing Before again
00:15 - 00:15
to my story.
00:16 - 00:18
I'd like to introduce myself again.
00:18 - 00:20
My name is Cameron Johnson, and I was born and
00:20 - 00:21
raised here in New Mexico.
00:22 - 00:24
I was actually born at U N M Hospital at
00:24 - 00:26
6:30 p.m. To be exact.
00:27 - 00:29
I went to Albuquerque High School and I did do
00:30 - 00:33
English for four years, and I did participate in writing.
00:34 - 00:37
But I still consider myself an amateur writer, since I've
00:37 - 00:39
only ever been short stories and simple poems.
00:40 - 00:43
And I now attend the University of New Mexico and
00:43 - 00:44
I'm in my freshman year.
00:46 - 00:47
And here's just a little picture of me.
00:48 - 00:51
Thank you, sure.
00:53 - 00:56
So the overall theme of my story would just consist
00:56 - 00:59
of grieving, healing and what I like to call positive
00:59 - 01:02
selfishness. I have to explain this to my friends very
01:02 - 01:04
often what that means.
01:04 - 01:08
And for me, positive selfishness just means you're being selfish
01:09 - 01:13
in a way that's not condescending towards other people.
01:15 - 01:17
You know, when you're being positive and selfish at the
01:17 - 01:22
same time, you're allowing yourself Teoh focus on yourself for
01:22 - 01:25
once rather than others without damaging other people in the
01:25 - 01:29
process. So the positive selfishness and then the healing and
01:30 - 01:32
grieving. And it kind of explains in my story.
01:33 - 01:35
My healing and grieving comes from a death of a
01:35 - 01:35
loved one.
01:36 - 01:44
In my family, the characters making and my story will
01:44 - 01:50
consist of myself, my grandfather, Bobby Kelly, my mother, Stephanie
01:50 - 01:53
Kelly and my grandmother, Dorothy Kelly.
02:01 - 02:05
We're gonna focus on the Who, the Wind and the
02:05 - 02:09
what. The point of view of my story mainly focuses
02:09 - 02:09
on myself.
02:10 - 02:12
However, it does include people who have shaped my story,
02:13 - 02:17
such as my mother, my grandfather and, most importantly, my
02:17 - 02:21
grandmother. Um, these people kind of play a part of
02:21 - 02:24
my story because they are my family and they are
02:24 - 02:24
each other's family.
02:25 - 02:28
My grandparent's are these grandparent's air.
02:28 - 02:29
My mother's parents.
02:30 - 02:35
So the topics in my story that I'm gonna address
02:36 - 02:39
our mental health, depression, death and overcoming obstacles.
02:41 - 02:43
I've had to face a lot as a young child
02:44 - 02:46
and only being 18 years, and I feel like I've
02:46 - 02:49
really overcome a lot of these obstacles that have stand
02:49 - 02:49
in my way.
02:50 - 02:53
So that's partly the significance of my story and what
02:53 - 02:56
I want to talk about and how I'm including the's
02:57 - 03:00
toppings with the topic of my grandfather's passing.
03:04 - 03:06
My story takes several time jumps.
03:07 - 03:10
It started from when I was five toe now 18
03:10 - 03:14
years old, so I would be 2009 ish.
03:14 - 03:17
I would be five or six years old so you
03:17 - 03:19
can enjoy this little baby picture of me.
03:25 - 03:25
Thank you.
03:25 - 03:27
And I hope you enjoyed my ideas.
