  1. Hello, Joel.
  2. If middle school saxophones and welcome, My name is Sam
  3. and I'm a music education student at JMU on today.
  4. We're all gonna learn how to play a G Tet
  5. record together.
  6. That will be the notes G A, B and C
  7. sharp. Now, you may have already watched a video or
  8. you will soon be watching a video.
  9. Or maybe you won't watch a video at all where
  10. you'll learn the notes D, e and F sharp on.
  11. Pretty soon we'll be able to play a D scale,
  12. which is very exciting.
  13. Now, before we start playing, I want everybody to make
  14. sure that they're holding their saxophone properly.
  15. We're sitting up straight or standing.
  16. That's okay, too.
  17. On Dhe.
  18. We're holding the saxophone up to us.
  19. We have our next strap on.
  20. We don't want to damage the instrument or anything.
  21. Now all the notes we're going to play today will
  22. involve left hand fingering, so you don't need to worry
  23. about the right hand pressing any buttons today.
  24. Just make sure that you're holding it properly, So we're
  25. gonna want to make sure that our our left hand
  26. we have three fingers on the white keys here, here
  27. and here.
  28. Don't press them down yet.
  29. So the first night that we're gonna play is a
  30. C sharp, which is open.
  31. So you're not gonna be pressing down any of the
  32. keys? All right, Now we're going to play, Uh, note
  33. B and you can click along.
  34. There should be, uh, fingering charts on the side that
  35. you can click through on your own time.
  36. If you wanna go faster, you need a little extra
  37. time or you could just do him with me.
  38. So for B, we're going to put down our index
  39. finger, which should be on this key right here and
  40. then blow the same as we were.
  41. We were playing a C sharp.
  42. Now maybe try starting on a C sharp and then
  43. putting that finger down and moving to a B.
  44. Hey, very good.
  45. Now, the third note that we're gonna play in this
  46. test record is a concert A And for that, we're
  47. gonna put down both our index finger like we were
  48. playing a B and our middle finger and make sure
  49. it's not on the small key, but it should be
  50. on the next big white key down from the index
  51. finger. All right.
  52. And now the final note we're gonna play is the
  53. note. The note that starts the tent record.
  54. And that's G.
  55. Fergie. We're gonna play like we're playing a so we
  56. should have our index fingers are middle finger down.
  57. We're gonna put our our ring finger down on the
  58. bottom. White key of the left hand.
  59. All right, so now we've learned all the fingering for
  60. C sharp, B and G, and you can try playing
  61. through them going from C sharp down to G.
  62. Put your index finger down.
  63. Now keep your index finger down and put your middle
  64. finger down and we'll play the A on.
  65. Then add the ring finger to that.
  66. And we have played C sharp B A N g.
  67. And now the last thing we're gonna do is we're
  68. gonna flip it.
  69. So we're going to start by playing the G and
  70. then lift Ah, finger moved to the A lift a
  71. finger, move to the beat and left the final finger.
  72. And we're at the c sharp.
  73. A, uh, a right.
  74. Well, thank you.
  75. I hope you put thes notes to good use and
  76. that you really enjoy playing the saxophone.
  77. Music is a wonderful thing.
  78. Uh, yeah.
  79. So that's pretty much it.
  80. Thank you for listening.
