00:02 - 00:06
Hello Today I'm going to be giving my presentation or
00:06 - 00:10
my final over the conceptual framework with discipline philosophy.
00:11 - 00:13
And so I'll go through a couple of these slides,
00:13 - 00:17
not everything, just to hit the basic things that I
00:18 - 00:22
wrote about and really hone in on what the rule
00:22 - 00:23
book was over.
00:23 - 00:27
Okay, so we're going to start with classroom management, and
00:28 - 00:31
I'm just going to read all of these in my,
00:32 - 00:33
um, Prezi.
00:33 - 00:34
Because they're all very important.
00:34 - 00:37
And it all has to do with behavior and classroom
00:38 - 00:41
environment and why it's important and what my feelings are.
00:42 - 00:45
So a few of the basic things for organizational patterns
00:46 - 00:49
where that it needs to show equity to all students,
00:50 - 00:51
and so that could also relate to diversity.
00:52 - 00:55
And an example of an organizational pattern that shows equity
00:56 - 00:59
is having classroom jobs where each week every student has
01:00 - 01:00
a jobs and jobs.
01:01 - 01:02
They're rotated each week.
01:02 - 01:05
So every student has a job, no matter what their
01:05 - 01:08
behavior circumstances are, no matter what their grades are, everyone
01:08 - 01:13
gets an opportunity and an example of a organizational pattern
01:13 - 01:16
that doesn't show equity is choosing boys or girls line
01:16 - 01:19
up first, and this could just be having a bias
01:19 - 01:21
over one or the other when you don't even realize
01:22 - 01:24
it. You could pick boys more than girls or girls
01:24 - 01:27
more than boys, and that really just shows inequity toe
01:28 - 01:29
whichever group you're not favoring.
01:30 - 01:31
Okay, so we'll move on to discipline.
01:33 - 01:34
And I have reactive management and proactive.
01:36 - 01:37
So for reactive management.
01:37 - 01:40
Instead of punishing or calling out the wrongdoers in the
01:40 - 01:42
classroom, I will support and protect my students.
01:43 - 01:47
I will have conferences to create opportunities for students to
01:47 - 01:49
make amends and repair harm.
01:49 - 01:52
And instead of calling a student out in class who
01:52 - 01:55
might be disruptive, I will find a time to talk
01:55 - 01:58
to him or her and explain that his or her
01:59 - 02:01
actions are affecting their peers.
02:02 - 02:04
And so I will just have that conversation with them,
02:04 - 02:07
away from other students in the classroom so they don't
02:07 - 02:09
feel like they're being called out or they don't get
02:09 - 02:12
embarrassed. So proactive discipline.
02:13 - 02:15
It means that I will just conf a effective language
02:16 - 02:16
that can phase.
02:17 - 02:20
Ricard and I will foster relationships in my classroom by
02:20 - 02:24
having community meetings so I will be involved in my
02:24 - 02:27
community. I will have conversations with parents with family members
02:28 - 02:28
with guardians.
02:29 - 02:31
I will just make sure to make that one of
02:31 - 02:33
my top priorities to foster those relationships.
02:35 - 02:43
So now we'll go back, okay, And we will go
02:44 - 02:46
to students, which is what my diversity tab is under.
02:47 - 02:49
And we're not going to focus on the comprehension, just
02:49 - 02:50
that diversity.
02:50 - 02:53
So, based on behavioral management, I have learned all humans
02:54 - 02:56
have five basic needs that drive their behavior.
02:57 - 02:59
And I will try to meet those needs of all
02:59 - 03:02
my students and not assume that one student needs more
03:02 - 03:03
attention than others.
03:03 - 03:06
Where that one student has all those needs met, I
03:06 - 03:08
might. I'm not just going to think, Oh, because they
03:09 - 03:09
could come from a good family.
03:10 - 03:11
All their needs are met.
03:11 - 03:13
I'm going to treat all my students the exact same.
03:14 - 03:16
And as for the diversity, all my students in my
03:17 - 03:18
class will be treated equal.
03:18 - 03:21
I will include diverse literature and content in my classroom,
03:22 - 03:24
turned her no one feels left out and that their
03:24 - 03:26
culture race isn't being taught or respected.
03:28 - 03:31
So now I'll go to my philosophy and we'll talk
03:31 - 03:35
about my philosophy and the personal connections I've shown with
03:35 - 03:39
behavior and discipline and then the growth I have shown.
03:39 - 03:42
So my philosophy written now is my philosophy of education
03:43 - 03:46
is that all Children are unique and must have educational
03:47 - 03:50
environment where they can grow physically, mentally, emotionally and socially.
03:51 - 03:53
It is my goal to create a classroom in which
03:53 - 03:54
all my students congrats.
03:55 - 03:58
I will provide a safe environment where students feel like
03:58 - 04:00
they can share their ideas and take risk in order
04:00 - 04:01
to grow as a student.
04:03 - 04:06
So my personal connections that I have made throughout this
04:06 - 04:08
course are unbelievable.
04:10 - 04:14
I just starting this course I could see the connections.
04:16 - 04:21
The second day we met and I mentioned this to
04:21 - 04:22
Dr H.
04:22 - 04:25
S. And it's just insane how it relates to my
04:25 - 04:26
job at work and how I've already changed.
04:27 - 04:30
But I have begun to use the behavior strategery.
04:31 - 04:33
So we learned about in my current job with Children,
04:34 - 04:35
which is obviously a huge connection.
04:36 - 04:38
I'm already using these things we have learned in a
04:38 - 04:41
real world situation, and I have been able to think
04:41 - 04:44
back to past teachers and really understand what made them
04:44 - 04:44
good teachers.
04:45 - 04:47
So not just because they were nice and funny.
04:47 - 04:49
But because of the way they discipline because the way
04:49 - 04:52
they taught, because the diversity in the class E I
04:53 - 04:55
have without a doubt learned real world knowledge in this
04:56 - 04:59
course in the personal connections I've made from my past
04:59 - 05:01
and currently are unbelievable.
05:03 - 05:05
So now I'll go to the growth I've made.
05:06 - 05:08
So throughout this semester I have progressed in many ways.
05:09 - 05:11
I used to believe that if you got the trouble,
05:12 - 05:15
some kids or the troublemakers, they would stop in trouble
05:16 - 05:16
and yelled at them.
05:17 - 05:19
They would just stop getting in trouble like it would
05:19 - 05:20
magically solve all their problems.
05:21 - 05:22
I have grown in the fact that I now know
05:23 - 05:26
that sometimes all those kids need is love and guidance.
05:27 - 05:28
I have grown in the fact that I will not
05:28 - 05:30
jump to conclusions about students in my class.
05:30 - 05:34
I will treat everyone fairly regardless of their dynamics, and
05:35 - 05:37
how I'll continue to grow is by asking the hard
05:38 - 05:42
questions in my courses, about disciplining, about diversity and about
05:42 - 05:44
cultures and religions and everything.
05:44 - 05:45
I'll ask the hard questions.
05:46 - 05:48
So that way, if I ever have a tough situation,
05:48 - 05:49
my class, I'll be prepared.
05:50 - 05:53
Thio handle those situations and I will grow by continuingly
05:54 - 05:58
continuing toe Learn about all the different management strategies within
05:59 - 05:59
my course.
06:01 - 06:02
So that is just how I've grown.
06:03 - 06:08
Behavioral lies and discipline lies on my conceptual framework.
06:09 - 06:12
Um, this class has been so helpful, and I'm so
06:12 - 06:14
glad that we got to take it and that even
06:14 - 06:16
though it was over, zoom in online.
06:17 - 06:18
I learned so much.
