  1. Hey, what's going on linkedin? This is Josh Mensinger
  2. 3
  3. I hope everyone is doing fantastic.
  4. I recently had somebody in message me on linkedin
  5. asking how to set their profile up so that recruiters
  6. can see that they are open to new opportunities but not people within
  7. their own organization.
  8. So being able to do that with a bit of confidentiality and I thought,
  9. why not create a little video of how to
  10. make that happen on your profile? So
  11. bear with me. This is the first time I'm doing a share screen tutorial type of video.
  12. So I'm going to attempt to do that successfully here
  13. and start sharing my screen and show you real quick how to set that up.
  14. All right.
  15. All right, you should be able to see my linkedin page here.
  16. So you would think that you would have to go to settings to make that happen,
  17. but you're actually gonna go straight to your profile.
  18. So go to view profile
  19. just like that
  20. and you're gonna scroll down and right here it says open two,
  21. you're gonna click on that
  22. and finding a new job, you're gonna click there.
  23. That's gonna open up a page here that will pre
  24. populate some options based on your current profile.
  25. Some job titles you can expand on that.
  26. You can expand on the type of work that you're open to on site, hybrid remote.
  27. You can also add ideal locations for yourself.
  28. If you are open to, to on site or if you're open to relocation, this will be really
  29. crucial because as uh someone that has utilized quite a bit of linkedin recruiter,
  30. you're often typing in uh locations on where you want to find people.
  31. So even if say I was in Charlotte,
  32. but I put on here, San Francisco as um a location that I'm open to.
  33. I would still pop up in San Francisco searches.
  34. Um You also can put on here how quickly you're
  35. available to start type of employment that you're open to,
  36. whether it be full time contract, temp and so forth.
  37. And then the real key point is right down here,
  38. ability who can view that you're open to work?
  39. Now,
  40. you will see some people that have that emblem on
  41. their look on their photo that says open to work.
  42. If you're confidentially looking for a new role, I doubt you want to put that on your
  43. uh photos. So you're gonna wanna use recruiters only. So this is going to limit
  44. the visibility to just recruiters or talent acquisition professionals or hr
  45. whoever has that linkedin recruiter account will be able to see
  46. that you are open to new
  47. opportunities.
  48. And linkedin is also going to take it a little bit further and do their best to
  49. not allow recruiters or T A professionals within your own organization
  50. to see that. Now you can, as you can see here, they can't guarantee that, but
  51. I do believe that is fairly
  52. uh secure and only recruiters outside of your organization seeing that.
  53. So you would click on that
  54. change whatever settings you want up here and hit save
  55. and then you would be good to go.
  56. So that is the uh the quick how to there.
  57. Uh I hope that's helpful for some folks out there looking to get more visibility and,
  58. and attention from recruitment professionals.
  59. Um Hope this is helpful. I'll look at making some more similar.
  60. If you have something that you're interested in
  61. that you need help with linkedin related,
  62. feel free,
  63. feel free to drop a comment and I'll look
  64. at doing some more videos similar to this soon.
  65. Have a great rest of the week.
