  1. Hi. My name is Meadow Emily and I'm a junior
  2. at Northwestern Area High School.
  3. The project I'm doing this year is the influences of
  4. wealth. Here's my contact information.
  5. Do you have any questions afterwards?
  6. Feel free to email me.
  7. The problem I had is people often connect wealth with
  8. being addictive and changing the way one acts.
  9. My project was designed to test that theory by testing
  10. individuals who are already wealthy.
  11. All 16 participants are either past or present professional athletes.
  12. Okay, I have prophesized that athletes with the highest net
  13. worth and signing fee, like my example shown, will have
  14. a lower participation right than athletes who make less money.
  15. Materials I used for this project, including added the address,
  16. database stamps or postage labels, envelopes, my phone items to
  17. be signed and a letter of request letter of requests
  18. are a formal statement asking an individual participate in your
  19. project or sign an item method.
  20. I used it.
  21. I selected my players.
  22. I selected players based on net worth and them having
  23. a signing fee or having a 45% or less success
  24. rate through the mouth signings.
  25. I put players into categories based on their sports, including
  26. baseball, wrestling, football and basketball.
  27. Then I put players into categories based on their net
  28. worth. Those categories include 5 to 10 million, 12 to
  29. 15 million, 18 to 20 million and over $150 million.
  30. I found my selected athletes on an address database or
  31. found another way to make contact with them.
  32. I wrote my letter of request and selected items to
  33. potentially to be signed.
  34. Next, you fill out two envelopes or boxes.
  35. However you wanna send anything to this athlete, one has
  36. their information on it and the second has your information
  37. on it.
  38. To get back to you, you put your self addressed,
  39. stamped envelope inside the item that you're ascending to the
  40. athlete along with all your letter of request and anything
  41. you won't signed.
  42. Send the properly sealed envelope to the player.
  43. Now you sit and wait for a response.
  44. The general rule is about three months will be your
  45. average wait time for any side item, but mine for
  46. this project alone was 2.8 months.
  47. But my dad and results were for the 5 to
  48. $10 million category.
  49. I had a 50% success rate.
  50. Two out of the four athletes signed an item from
  51. my project.
  52. One was a wrestler and one was a baseball player.
  53. In my 12 to $15 million category, I had a
  54. 75% sex right success rate.
  55. Three out of four players signed for me and 90
  56. days is my average wait time, compared to the 72
  57. day wait time from the 5 to $10 million with
  58. Category three.
  59. Only player who chose not to participate was a football
  60. player. Requesting his general signing fee for two was the
  61. 18 to $20 million category.
  62. I had 100% success rate, meaning all four players signed
  63. or provided their own.
  64. I don't that I did not send to them.
  65. My average rate wait time was 43 days, and for
  66. my 150 million plus category, I had 100% success rate
  67. as well.
  68. And all four players either sign my item or provided
  69. their own.
  70. This wait time average with 129 days.
  71. Here's my graph that compares net worth to success percentages.
  72. Some pictures I got include these On your left, there's
  73. a baseball player signature and on your right, a wrestler
  74. signature. The middle from the 12 to 15 million category
  75. is a wrestler to the right of that.
  76. You have a baseball player.
  77. And then to the far left, there's a basketball player
  78. from my 18 to 20 million category.
  79. The far left is a wrestler.
  80. The top middle is a football player.
  81. The lower middle is a baseball player and the far
  82. right is a basketball player.
  83. These are pictures from my 150 million plus category.
  84. Far left is a baseball player.
  85. Shift over one to the right is a wrestler.
  86. Go to the right again, a football player and farthest
  87. to the right, is a basketball player.
  88. In conclusion, I found that athletes with the highest net
  89. worth and signing fee have the highest success rates.
  90. Both areas of my two highest categories had 100% success
  91. rate, which got me a total of eight responses.
  92. Football players had the lowest of 6% is at 50%.
  93. Basketball players had a 75% success rate.
  94. Wrestlers and baseball players were the easiest athletes to get
  95. a response from both.
  96. Sports had 100% success rate.
  97. If I wanted to continue this project, I would like
  98. to offer players money in my letter of request to
  99. really test if they will be taunted by money and
  100. see if that would change the outcome of them signing
  101. for free or not.
  102. This is my baby bibliography that includes my address databases.
  103. And if you have any questions like I said, please
  104. feel free to email me at M m 4414 at
  105. k 12 dot sc dot us.
  106. Thank you.
