00:02 - 00:03
Hello. My name is Cesar.
00:04 - 00:07
And here again as a part off energy lie project.
00:08 - 00:11
At this last semester, it's my pressure again to take
00:12 - 00:15
this time to reflect, uh, on, like, impacts off, like
00:16 - 00:20
my project, which was DP Project in Energy l A.
00:20 - 00:24
And how did that impact my mentoring relationship with?
00:24 - 00:26
Get run as you see in the picture.
00:27 - 00:29
So let's get into this.
00:30 - 00:34
Like for the impact number one that I can recall
00:35 - 00:36
on the top off my head.
00:38 - 00:41
It is the fact that kept me accounted when the
00:41 - 00:45
consistent you may wonder, like, Why did I bring this
00:45 - 00:48
poet? So I knew that for sure, like everyone else.
00:48 - 00:52
Day we had, like a meeting with LDP protecting the
00:52 - 00:52
atom enters.
00:53 - 00:56
And we had to report the one on one meeting
00:56 - 00:57
and how they go.
00:58 - 01:00
What did you learn and why do you think, like
01:01 - 01:06
your mentee responded that way those kinds off conversation and
01:07 - 01:10
then kept me accountable because I was like Then I
01:11 - 01:13
need to make sure that I'm scheduling to meet with
01:13 - 01:18
him consistently and that beards like trust that beauty like
01:18 - 01:23
me being reliable mentor to him and just reflectively to
01:24 - 01:28
by sharing these stories of how the conversation went off
01:28 - 01:28
that week.
01:29 - 01:33
I always internalized more what I learned from Get Run.
01:33 - 01:33
You know what?
01:34 - 01:37
He told me what he answered when I asked this
01:37 - 01:41
type of question those kind off conversation and then the
01:42 - 01:45
questions off, like my small group like members in LDP
01:46 - 01:52
kept me reminding, like me what, like I learned from
01:52 - 01:56
Get Ron and that, like, speeded up like the process
01:56 - 02:00
of knowing each other, the process off, learning more about
02:01 - 02:04
each other so through, like sharing those one on one
02:04 - 02:06
like meetings through the D.
02:06 - 02:11
P. Uh, meeting, which was, like, occurring at everyone, is
02:11 - 02:17
they? So for impact number two, I think the LDP
02:18 - 02:22
project was a platform, Uh, was like this free space
02:23 - 02:26
where you ask any type of question, any type of
02:26 - 02:27
curious question that you have.
02:28 - 02:30
It was like free space to ask that.
02:31 - 02:34
And I remember, like I was saying like, Oh, I
02:34 - 02:34
miss my mentee.
02:35 - 02:37
I don't have my but I want to see how
02:38 - 02:43
it looks like to mentor someone, and definitely like immediately
02:43 - 02:47
guys like Jordan guys like right, like nurse, they were
02:47 - 02:49
like, Oh, you can come and shadow my relationship if
02:50 - 02:50
you want.
02:50 - 02:54
And that was like a big opportunity for me as
02:54 - 02:56
like a startup student in in July.
02:57 - 03:00
I got these opportunities from these guys whom we made
03:01 - 03:04
like through LDP, and they told me different things they
03:05 - 03:09
murdered for me what, like true and the meaningful mentorship
03:10 - 03:10
looks like.
03:11 - 03:14
And I always recounted on these types of connections toe
03:15 - 03:17
to do the same thing as I saw in the
03:17 - 03:20
relationship, and that is what, like is keeping me and
03:20 - 03:21
get run together.
03:22 - 03:25
That is what building our bone together for impact Number
03:26 - 03:29
three. I think I used some tools that I've seen
03:29 - 03:33
in those like shadowing experiences and also small group discussion.
03:34 - 03:38
They, like you recommend me some assessments to use stress
03:39 - 03:44
assessment, motivation assessment, underground tests, personality tests, those kinds of
03:44 - 03:48
stuff. I think what I use now the most at
03:48 - 03:50
some of the tools that I learned from the small
03:51 - 03:54
group discussion with my LDPR mentors.
03:54 - 03:58
Other mentors, I mean, and also I learned like when
03:58 - 04:01
they were sharing the one on one meetings, I was
04:01 - 04:04
learning more, and I was like sponge, I was grasping
04:06 - 04:09
all these tools and assessments to use, You know that
04:09 - 04:11
to build a bond in order to bring the strong
04:12 - 04:15
relationship. Uh, and I would say that like my peak
04:16 - 04:19
communication that I have now we forget Ron started with
04:19 - 04:23
knowing each other through this personality test underground test.
04:23 - 04:27
And I'll be always grateful for these LTP project.
04:28 - 04:32
So for last impact, uh, impact number four.
04:32 - 04:35
And I remember, like, during the first days off training
04:36 - 04:37
NHL, I I was nervous.
04:38 - 04:38
I was terrified.
04:39 - 04:41
How am I gonna make to someone when I maybe
04:42 - 04:44
I don't have, like, my things to get them still
04:44 - 04:45
like screw up, boy?
04:46 - 04:50
But now I have responsibility to be and just did,
04:51 - 04:54
uh, to help another person grow by defeating like their
04:55 - 04:55
values to himself.
04:56 - 04:59
And I was so nervous, because again, this is like,
04:59 - 05:01
my first experience, my first time doing piece.
05:02 - 05:06
But through the small group discussion, people sharing how they
05:07 - 05:09
want to start the relationship, what are you gonna do?
05:09 - 05:12
What they think about the for the first time that
05:13 - 05:13
they made.
05:13 - 05:15
And I was like, Wow, this is impossible.
05:16 - 05:19
Thing was like a great confidence in me that helped
05:19 - 05:23
me to start up like energetically knowing that everything is
05:24 - 05:27
possible. Knowing that I'm there, too appeared to help just
05:28 - 05:28
to help someone to grow.
05:29 - 05:31
And I remember like the Jordan's first advice.
05:32 - 05:34
This was like a kid off a small group discussion,
05:35 - 05:39
he said, Like just people opening Caesar just to be
05:39 - 05:42
friends, too, like you meant it to get run and
05:42 - 05:43
everything else will be fine.
05:44 - 05:47
I loved it because I never thought about it, but
05:47 - 05:50
I used to think about with, like even now I
05:50 - 05:52
remember, like many get run for the first time.
05:53 - 05:56
We just hang out, hang out as friends, and do
05:57 - 05:59
we get to know each other and suffer schedule and
06:00 - 06:00
we go deep.
06:01 - 06:04
Time went on and I remember how it started.
06:04 - 06:07
It was like very casual thing, very friendship thing.
06:08 - 06:11
Now it's more of like very open space where we
06:11 - 06:14
listen to each other every day we meet and we
06:14 - 06:17
discussed. We share like our sadness, the stories off the
06:17 - 06:19
week, our happiest moment off the week.
06:20 - 06:21
What are we goals?
06:21 - 06:25
What are we planning to do that week and things
06:25 - 06:29
got big, big got deeper and things got better and
06:29 - 06:30
better but to start.
06:31 - 06:35
Although I was nervous, but I respect this advice, and
06:35 - 06:38
I think it helped me a lot for, like, my
06:38 - 06:44
nervousness. But periods like confidence on I always recount on
06:45 - 06:48
this advice, and this is like my greatest advice that
06:48 - 06:51
I would ever like, give someone else if he comes
06:51 - 06:54
asking me for any advice when they want to start
06:55 - 06:58
like any kind of relationship, because you cannot start and
06:59 - 07:01
go deeper by that time, you have to let it
07:01 - 07:02
go slowly and slowly.
07:03 - 07:08
But this vulnerability This is where I remarkably like since
07:09 - 07:11
the importance of being being open.
07:12 - 07:15
Because as I opened up to get Ron, he became
07:15 - 07:17
more more open even than myself.
07:18 - 07:19
Like in these days.
07:20 - 07:22
You know, he's able to tell me what's going on
07:22 - 07:25
if their parents what's going on with his like mom
07:26 - 07:29
and dad and which is like thing that I I
07:29 - 07:31
personally feel thankful to LDP.
07:32 - 07:33
So thank you so much.
07:34 - 07:37
I think I enjoyed a lot and they still enjoy
07:37 - 07:39
the benefits of being in lt.
07:39 - 07:42
People still have meetings, and even in this black, I'm
07:43 - 07:46
committed to make like a difference to meet him like
07:47 - 07:50
on like, consistent level, because that's what I learned from
07:51 - 07:54
LDP to build consistent and to be open and just
07:54 - 07:55
to be friends first.
07:56 - 07:58
And there is something that I was still counting on
07:58 - 07:59
in my mentoring relationship.
08:00 - 08:01
Thank you so much.
