  1. dear colleagues.
  2. This is a short Prezi on the giving and receiving
  3. of feedback during our liturgical leadership for this semester.
  4. First things first is the disposition with which we come
  5. to this feedback, and that is that I want us
  6. to see it as a gift that here during seminary,
  7. you have a brave space in which you get thio,
  8. give each other feedback and receive feedback so that we,
  9. when we graduate from this place, can be the liturgical
  10. leaders that we want to be in the communities that
  11. we will serve.
  12. And so let's presume that were not yet where we
  13. want to be in the years when we graduate and
  14. then accept the call, but that we want to grow
  15. and change well.
  16. Then growth and change are supported by receiving feedback that
  17. lets us know what's going well for us and feedback
  18. that lets us know what we might want to grow
  19. in change.
  20. Shift into the future.
  21. And so I'd like you to get yourself into a
  22. position where you hunger for this kind of feedback, where
  23. you really want feedback and where you might feel like
  24. you had been cut short.
  25. If you didn't get some critical feedback.
  26. I hope that we come to a spot where we
  27. want critical feedback.
  28. We don't want to goto our colleagues and then just
  29. have them say Nice job that would feel a little
  30. vacuous and empty because we're hungering to become something that
  31. we aren't yet.
  32. We're hungering to become the best liturgical leaders that we
  33. can be more pretty sure that there's some improvement that
  34. we can make.
  35. So please get in a spot where you would like
  36. to receive comments that tell you where you could grow.
  37. And then as we think about giving feedback, think about
  38. how you can give feedback that also supports that style
  39. of growth, that kind of growth that we're hungering for
  40. Well, as we give that feedback, then there I'm going
  41. to provide you with a grid, and I want you
  42. to give feedback to your colleagues or be prepared to
  43. give feedback to your colleagues in at least six areas.
  44. One of them is is Flo.
  45. So in the liturgy that your colleague lead, how did
  46. the liturgy flow?
  47. One portion of it to the next?
  48. The next is coherent.
  49. So how did this thing hold together.
  50. You could give your colleague some feedback, then about the
  51. whole scope of the thing on and how it seemed
  52. to be an entirety.
  53. Ah, whole.
  54. Now that could be a little bit hard with some
  55. of our liturgies that are long and a student chose
  56. to only do 10 minutes on you don't see actually
  57. the whole But then you could say, How did those
  58. 10 minutes hold together?
  59. Yeah. The next thing we want to focus on is
  60. content. So there are certain things that this liturgy communicated
  61. and did.
  62. And then you want to give your feedback around that
  63. content of the liturgy and how it was communicated.
  64. Often the content of the liturgy is that we're doing
  65. is set.
  66. And so it's not necessarily that you're replying to your
  67. colleague on the content per se, but on how that
  68. content got communicated.
  69. The fourth area of feedback is pastoral presence.
  70. Now, please know that when I say pastoral presence, it's
  71. an adjective.
  72. It doesn't mean ah person ordained Thio, Word and Sacrament
  73. Ministry. We celebrate that we have m A students and
  74. empty of students in our class and, um, and the
  75. the ordination tracks are multiple, and so for deacons.
  76. For pastors alike, there is pastoral presence.
  77. And so I want you to reflect with your colleague
  78. on how their liturgical presence may have distracted or supported
  79. ET cetera, others ability to worship.
  80. The fifth thing is theology.
  81. How I know that we may be a different places
  82. in our journey of learning theology and some of us
  83. toward the outset.
  84. And yet it's always something that in liturgy is we
  85. want to be aware off.
  86. So please do give your colleagues feedback on how their
  87. leadership again, not just the content that was already perhaps
  88. set. But how did their leadership of the ritual relate
  89. to sound theology?
  90. She and finally, the other category.
  91. You know, I'm aware that not all of these things
  92. may have fit into the first five.
  93. So what else did you notice that would be helpful
  94. for the leader to know or helpful for the class
  95. to learn from?
  96. Finally, just a preview.
  97. This is the colleague feedback grid that you'll be receiving
  98. so that you can keep track of providing feedback for
  99. your colleagues in all of these categories.
  100. Now, I'm not saying that you have tow write this
  101. out. You could You could write it out and send
  102. it to your colleague.
  103. You don't have thio Just want you to have thought
  104. through these categories before the discussion with your colleague on
  105. their leadership.
