  1. Hello and welcome to the developing teachers to improve lesson
  2. plans using technology Professional development training.
  3. My name is jimmy sandals and are learning focus for
  4. today. The technology, as we know, technology is a necessity
  5. in today's world and as educators, we must be ready
  6. for it with this training today we are going to
  7. review, learn and improve our skills about how to adopt
  8. adapt and use technology ever lately and creatively.
  9. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
  10. Let's give you are learning objective for the training today.
  11. With this training will be just able to identify the
  12. purpose and benefits of using the technology in the classroom.
  13. We will we will be just able to know how
  14. to incorporate engaging technological strategies in the classroom and then
  15. we will be just able to implement activities devices, another
  16. different technological solutions to encourage technology integration.
  17. But the region is a question here.
  18. We have the question about what is educational technology.
  19. So let's watch this next video and then let's see
  20. what the people think is educational technology.
  21. Oh, hello.
  22. Our assignment for this week is about the knowledge.
  23. And the big question is why should we just incorporate
  24. technology in our classroom?
  25. Well, as educators, we promote effective appropriate technologies to support
  26. teaching and learning in the school environment.
  27. Yes, but we are teachers know what is educational technology?
  28. Check it out.
  29. Educational technology.
  30. Well, not sure because I've never heard of it for
  31. instructional video.
  32. That comes to my mind.
  33. We would imagine it is computer studies.
  34. It's using television and radio and all the communication devices
  35. and electronics to educate people, teach them and bring information
  36. to them.
  37. It's all technologies that help you to teach and learn.
  38. That's cool.
  39. I think educational technology is any technology that's being used
  40. in the service of educating people?
  41. Yeah. Okay.
  42. With this, I want just to quote something from Aaron
  43. Duncan, member of the United States Secretary of Education.
  44. He said about technology alone isn't going to improve student
  45. achievement. The best combination is great teachers working with technology
  46. to engage students in the person of the learning they
  47. need. Yeah.
  48. So we have just hear the definition for educational technology.
  49. Educational technology is their study and ethical practice of facilitating
  50. learning and improving performance by creating using and managing appropriate
  51. technological processes and resources.
  52. Yeah. With this, I want just to go and moving
  53. forward just with the technology classroom, inc with the school's
  54. vision and mission.
  55. The mission in our school in our agency.
  56. Just to the use of technology strengthening the student learning
  57. and foster creativity, collaboration and communication between the classrooms or
  58. vision is just to engage the students in a stimulating
  59. academic environment with challenging a student center experiences that's resulting
  60. creative expression, global communication and meaningful collaboration that will prepare
  61. them to excel in a technology rich, global environment.
  62. And here we can just see this picture the teacher
  63. is lost.
  64. He just like uh having some issues with the technology.
  65. The students are just connected there, you know, with their
  66. laptop with their devices.
  67. So I want just to read, I want to quote
  68. this and then it's from Abraham 2006.
  69. The most common definition of blended learning is a combination
  70. of face to face instruction, combined with computer mediated instruction
  71. to facilitate interactive and reflected higher order learning.
  72. So we know as educational teaching has been used to
  73. stimulate more interactive teaching, Inquire based learning, project based learning,
  74. effective grouping of students and cooperative learning.
  75. But the original like uh the technology as a catalyst
  76. is not sufficient by itself in each of the teacher,
  77. in each of the person who is just promoting, facilitating
  78. and making sure the process is complex.
  79. The process is complete.
  80. So but we don't need a teacher just to teacher
  81. just to turn on and off just about devices or
  82. just to connect plastic devices to charge it.
  83. Now we need just a teacher who are well prepared
  84. to function in a more open, flexible student centered environment,
  85. meaningful change will occur over a period of time.
  86. So with the time they will be just learning, they
  87. will be just acquiring the knowledge.
  88. They will be just like a able to help and
  89. support the students with the technology to promote and to
  90. just improve just in the technology knowledge.
  91. But it will be just taking some time.
  92. So we will just respecting the teacher just to struggle
  93. with this change and then we are just as some
  94. money as a principle leaders.
  95. As an instructional leaders, we are just supporting them.
  96. We need just to facilitating then just the way just
  97. to learn.
  98. We need just to promote like a learning culture, like
  99. a learning environment in our school and then with the
  100. professional development that would be just like uh you know
  101. like grabbing the knowledge, grabbing the skill and then they
  102. will be just able just to incorporate and then work
  103. and then you know like a word with the technology
  104. in their classrooms here in the picture we can see
  105. something And then you like the teacher is lost.
  106. He's asking you like for help please as someone under
  107. the age of 20 for help.
  108. So we need just well prepared teachers in our classrooms
  109. the next life.
  110. You can just see the red highlight there.
  111. Are you like uh the connections and the incorporation of
  112. technology in every single daily routine activity and then we
  113. have like uh different website, different application even just like
  114. the curriculum, like our curriculum Front street is just coming
  115. with games activities.
  116. And then also we have just our formal assessment goal
  117. teaching strategies also.
  118. And then we have just like everything is included, everything
  119. is incorporated, everything is just connected.
  120. So we have just like a different activity like a
  121. mother live teacher like letters alive.
  122. It's just a curriculum kid that used different gaming technology.
  123. Then we have just the math alive and literal.
  124. I've those are like uh key learning modalities of seeing,
  125. hearing and doing to engage all your early learners and
  126. they will be just excited because they're just a lot
  127. a lot of activities.
  128. They are receiving feedback, immediate, immediate feedback and positive verbal
  129. affirmation and corruption learners through the activities.
  130. So we have just also just the the, The hatch,
  131. the hatch is just part of the activities and then
  132. the technology activity just in the classroom, it's a part
  133. of the centers and it's just like a bear 12
  134. tool just like a hard power and then it just
  135. like uh helping just with hands on engaging and developmentally
  136. appropriate content that enables teachers to foster truly collaborative learning
  137. experiences. We have just another activities like uh application asylum
  138. dot com.
  139. They are you like are going outside maybe just going
  140. for a hike as a part of the science activity
  141. in the centers or just going outside for a high
  142. trying to find insects.
  143. So they are just bringing us along a camera tablet
  144. and voila, they are just taking the pictures, sending you
  145. the picture and then they will be just receiving unlimited
  146. opportunities for photograph for information.
  147. Is it can be a lot of fun.
  148. So now we have just also just with this a
  149. small group plan for in the realization as I told
  150. you just the whole teaching strategies to just like a
  151. tool and then it just like a supporting the teacher
  152. with different activities during the day, during you know with
  153. different important daily activities through the teaching, assessing reporting, connecting
  154. with families and developing their own knowledge and skills.
  155. Everything is just on to one streamline user friendly platform
  156. and then everybody knows everybody has access and then everybody
  157. has access and then everybody knows where the students are
  158. academically. Here we have just also the school home connection.
  159. We have just the activities and then is connected just
  160. with different you know what activities the activities in the
  161. school home connection is the homework we are sending like
  162. china weekly basis and those activities are connected with the
  163. curriculum, the lesson plans and classroom weekly team.
  164. So the teacher follow up school home connection in a
  165. weekly basis and support the parents with the website links,
  166. resources, hard copies and ready rosie what is already rossi
  167. already rossi is just uh tools that help families and
  168. school facilitating the family engagement.
  169. And then also it's just this engagement with different to
  170. like a video modeling, family workshops, professional development opportunities and
  171. mobile technology to build powerful partnership between families and educators.
  172. So after this, why should we just utilize technology in
  173. the classroom?
  174. We need just to to use and utilize technology in
  175. the classroom because make learning more fun of course, because
  176. the Children enjoy, they love the tablet, they love the
  177. technology, they love the devices.
  178. The classes will be just like a more fun and
  179. it will just make learning more fun.
  180. This increased excitement and motivation and then the students are
  181. more focuses and engage and encourage encouraging collaboration and and
  182. then it will be just like a more encouraged collaboration
  183. aim appears there will be just like a support problem
  184. solving and high critical thinking involved also.
  185. And then the connection teachers to and is more efficient
  186. and feedback or it will be just provided and then
  187. it will be just prepare the students for the future.
  188. And then we'll be just connecting the lessons and activities
  189. the technology activities with the standards with the curriculum.
  190. Yeah. Mhm.
  191. Now I want you to show you why Should we
  192. use utilize, utilize technology in the classroom.
  193. But it just based on the data.
  194. So the data is telling us about just the 70%
  195. of the students report higher grades, better attendance and active
  196. learning environments, 92% say they would like to use more
  197. technology than they already do.
  198. The 52% student discuss educational subjects with their peers, to
  199. the social media and software and assessment reported higher student
  200. outcomes than those that didn't how to introduce technology into
  201. your classroom.
  202. Uh, well, you need to be willing to change because
  203. a teacher as a teacher will still be the necessary,
  204. the teacher needs to be necessary, but the students will
  205. still require assistance and guidance.
  206. So uh teacher need to be in the classroom.
  207. Classroom focus will, depending on the frequency of use and
  208. be largely centered around technology before introducing technology into the
  209. classroom is crucial to remember that several another several other
  210. change will have to take place once it has been
  211. implemented and then teaching a style will have to be
  212. adjusted with the inclusion of technology.
  213. The tutor will no longer be the center of attention
  214. also how to introduce technology in our classrooms.
  215. So learning will however, become considerably more proactive and independent
  216. and the students will be just let the classroom taking
  217. this into account, allows preparing to be made.
  218. And then furthermore, considering the benefit that technology will have
  219. on your lessons, will allow you to decide how best
  220. to incorporate it.
  221. So at this point I want you to tell you
  222. about if you have just like uh for an interactive
  223. whiteboard there are just plenty of activities and then I
  224. want just to read this quote is just using the
  225. whiteboards capabilities to provide armed forces were associated with the
  226. students in some classrooms showing as much a steady 1%
  227. gain the achievement marciano 2009.
  228. So we can just use Brain pop scholastic skype virtual
  229. activities. We will be just like a show online video
  230. related to the less on display information and attractive is
  231. like using Microsoft power point or Apple's Keynote.
  232. Well there are just plenty of those activities.
  233. But what about if you have just like uh laptops?
  234. So with the laptop you will be just provide opportunity
  235. to use, you know like more in deep tools with
  236. your students.
  237. Start early start like class discussion with today's me.
  238. Keep block allows students to create and publish work to
  239. a connected space used to like any model model model
  240. model and the model and then help students to build
  241. websites using WIX weebly students to create their own videos
  242. using any model.
  243. Well there are just a lot of plenty of those
  244. websites and applications.
  245. Uh I want just to tell you if you can
  246. just please click on the link below to complete the
  247. survey. Your feedback is really appreciate it.
  248. Thank you very much for your attention and I have
  249. just this video as a closing.
  250. So let's squash this video.
  251. Thank you very much for your attention.
  252. Yeah, we have a question here.
  253. What is the future of educational technology?
  254. Well, we know about technology is a versatile and valuable
  255. tool for teaching and learning, and of course it's becoming
  256. a way of life.
  257. Yes, but the most important thing here, I think it's
  258. about our teachers.
  259. Yeah. Are they prepared to use these technologies effectively check
  260. it out?
