00:00 - 00:02
Hello everyone, my name is Cheyenne.
00:02 - 00:05
I would like to ask you to just imagine in your head
00:05 - 00:08
a nice relaxing day you're hanging out with your friends or family.
00:08 - 00:14
Someone gets the idea to play a board game you pick clue clue allows players
00:14 - 00:18
to walk in the footsteps as a detective in order to solve a murder mystery.
00:18 - 00:23
I played a lot of board games over the years and it's more like a need to play them.
00:23 - 00:24
They don't want to play them.
00:25 - 00:30
Clue is by far the game I go to playing with eight years and older
00:30 - 00:36
And you can play with 2-6 players. I will start by explaining the setup,
00:36 - 00:40
how to play and the objectives of.
00:40 - 00:43
So let's begin with how to set up the game
00:44 - 00:48
clue comes with playing cards, dice, weapons, character tokens,
00:48 - 00:50
detective notebook case,
00:50 - 00:54
fall envelope and the board game itself always uses evidence for the players.
00:55 - 00:56
This is what it looks like.
00:57 - 00:59
And now
00:59 - 01:02
let's set it up you're going to lay out the board just like it is
01:02 - 01:06
on a flat surface and have enough room for players to play around it.
01:06 - 01:10
There are nine rooms there are six different character tokens.
01:11 - 01:13
You're gonna place those on there, a lot of squares.
01:14 - 01:18
Then for the weapons, there are nine rooms there's only six weapons.
01:18 - 01:19
Just place one randomly in each room.
01:20 - 01:25
So now moving on to the cards,
01:27 - 01:34
separate the four different types of cards into each category of weapons, clues,
01:35 - 01:38
characters and the rooms
01:38 - 01:42
you're gonna separate them of course. Mix them up according to the category
01:43 - 01:46
And then you're gonna take the top three cards.
01:46 - 01:51
The top card offer the three files excluding the clue cards without looking.
01:51 - 01:54
Place it into that envelope and set that to the side.
01:55 - 02:00
Now is where the players need to choose who they are going to play as
02:00 - 02:01
to choose their character.
02:03 - 02:03
No,
02:04 - 02:06
There are two ways to,
02:06 - 02:12
there are two ways to um dispense all the rest of those cards,
02:13 - 02:16
it's screwed into the cool cars, put those to the side,
02:16 - 02:19
the three piles that remains over, you're going to mix all that together.
02:19 - 02:20
Really good, shuffle them
02:21 - 02:23
and then for the ways to play
02:23 - 02:25
Two you have two options.
02:25 - 02:28
The first one is if you're playing with 3-6 players you
02:28 - 02:31
will just dispense them face down to all the players.
02:31 - 02:33
It's okay if one player gets more than another.
02:33 - 02:38
The second way to play is if you have only two players
02:38 - 02:40
with that, you're gonna take
02:40 - 02:45
just like normal, you're going to do the case file envelope, that's fine.
02:45 - 02:46
Mix it all together.
02:46 - 02:50
But now you're going to take the top four cards off without
02:50 - 02:54
looking and just place them one facedown in any four room,
02:54 - 02:56
it doesn't matter with the rest of them,
02:56 - 02:59
you'll give them out between the two players so you're good to go on that
03:00 - 03:00
correct.
03:01 - 03:03
Now that setup is complete,
03:03 - 03:06
we're gonna learn how to play Miss Scarlett always goes
03:06 - 03:09
first and then the person clockwise or her goes next.
03:09 - 03:11
If no one is playing Miss Scarlett then the
03:11 - 03:14
person clockwise to her will begin the game.
03:15 - 03:18
Each player receives a detective sheet and a
03:19 - 03:20
something to write with.
03:20 - 03:24
Players will discreetly look at their cards and then market up the sheet as they
03:24 - 03:29
know that these cards aren't actually in the envelope that they will be using.
03:29 - 03:31
I mean they'll be guessing later on.
03:32 - 03:35
So when it's your turn, when it's the players down roll a dice,
03:35 - 03:36
they have three options.
03:36 - 03:41
They can either move that many spaces. They can choose to stay in that room
03:41 - 03:48
like the room there and they have to be in the room or they can go between rooms.
03:48 - 03:50
If there's a passageway in there,
03:51 - 03:56
there is a magnifying glass icon on the dice.
03:56 - 03:59
If somebody rolls that they have to pick up a clue card,
03:59 - 04:01
read it and follow the directions.
04:01 - 04:07
The magnifying icon is uses one space. So you can use that one moving as one space.
04:09 - 04:11
Try again until the next thing.
04:12 - 04:18
Um Now that you know how to set it up, we are going to go to the objectives, the game,
04:18 - 04:20
the goal of the game is obviously to win.
04:20 - 04:25
This is done by discovering three cards that are in that case envelope.
04:25 - 04:27
Everyone is on their own in this game.
04:27 - 04:29
So you gotta play it strategically,
04:29 - 04:32
you gotta listen out for the crews and everything that's going on.
04:33 - 04:34
Um
04:35 - 04:39
Don't divulge too much information that said big thing with this game.
04:39 - 04:40
Um
04:41 - 04:46
You can do this by choosing which cards strategically that you can um,
04:46 - 04:48
let other players see,
04:49 - 04:51
but the opponents see,
04:51 - 04:52
um,
04:52 - 04:58
players can inadvertently give their opponents too much information which will
04:59 - 04:59
um,
05:00 - 05:03
hurt their chances of winning in long run.
05:04 - 05:08
There are two things that the player can do at the end of their turn.
05:08 - 05:13
They can either one make a suggestion which is
05:13 - 05:17
the player that just rolled and moved or whatever
05:17 - 05:20
can say, hey, I think this person did it
05:21 - 05:23
with this weapon in this room.
05:24 - 05:27
This is not the same thing as making a suggestion,
05:28 - 05:32
but going back to making an exhibition the
05:32 - 05:34
next person after the person that just made,
05:34 - 05:35
I'm sorry.
05:35 - 05:39
The suggestion that just made the suggestion asked to show
05:39 - 05:43
a one card from their personal pile without showing anybody else
05:45 - 05:49
has to show them a car. If they don't have it then that that's fine as well.
05:50 - 05:52
Um, so to making an accusation,
05:52 - 05:56
make it in the accusations that player knows for
05:56 - 05:59
sure the three cards that are in that envelope
05:59 - 06:05
and they have to be sure because if they're not then if not then they lose the game.
06:06 - 06:10
So the player says, I know who did it, this is who did it.
06:10 - 06:14
This is what they did it with and this is what, um,
06:14 - 06:16
and what room they did it in.
06:17 - 06:21
So those three things the player has to say if they don't,
06:21 - 06:23
of course they lose the game, they have to put the envelope,
06:23 - 06:25
have to put the cards back in the envelope.
06:26 - 06:28
Um When they do look at the envelope,
06:28 - 06:31
they can't show anybody like it has to be a secret.
06:32 - 06:36
So they put the cards back in the envelope. They put that suicide.
06:36 - 06:41
They gotta stop playing. Um The only thing though is when
06:41 - 06:45
they have to show the cards to anybody making a suggestion.
06:45 - 06:52
All right well that wraps up everything clue is a very interesting game that you
06:52 - 06:58
can play against anybody eight years and older and it's just a fun game.
06:58 - 07:01
It's intriguing and everything. I
07:02 - 07:05
walked you through the setup, the
07:06 - 07:09
how to play the game and then the objectives of the game.
07:09 - 07:15
I hope you remember the steps on how to play next time that you
07:15 - 07:19
are maybe bored and want to play a board game you can play.
07:19 - 07:20
So thank you.
