  1. Hello,
  2. my name is Jason ginger and today I'm going to
  3. talk about why we should lower the drinking age.
  4. Okay.
  5. To start off, I'm just saying,
  6. I'm just gonna start off by saying lowering the drinking
  7. and would definitely change a lot of things in America.
  8. And I know that change is pretty scary for everyone in America, but you know,
  9. it's not bad all the time.
  10. Next we're going to talk about why
  11. it's why underage drinking is something inevitable.
  12. So why don't we just, why do we,
  13. why do we delay something that's just going to happen in the first place?
  14. And next I'm gonna have a little chart here that shows how teens,
  15. even younger than 18 had been drinking and how many of them Binge drink.
  16. And while this starts up, I'm going to talk about why I'm interested in the topic.
  17. So I chose this topic because you know, I thought
  18. Why can't we, because there's so many things that an 18 year old can do.
  19. But you know, they just pulled back on tobacco use in America.
  20. So why just why can't we just have this one thing as you know, this is a,
  21. this relates to me because you know,
  22. a lot of people might drink personally. I don't drink like that. I don't drink at all
  23. at all ever.
  24. And uh, I think this is a really important discussion to have since, you know,
  25. a lot of old people stuck in their ways or they don't want this,
  26. they don't want this to happen because
  27. change is scary as I've said before.
  28. And next I'm gonna talk about how
  29. we do have a lot of new responsibilities coming into this age.
  30. Uh we can do so much more. We can actually stay out past 12.
  31. There's the ability to go out and get arrested as an adult,
  32. which is not cool at all to me.
  33. And then
  34. we have
  35. most teams having are going to have a taste of alcohol
  36. and most aren't going to stop anytime soon because this,
  37. this is just something you can't control in my opinion,
  38. it's going to happen no matter what and some
  39. random person isn't gonna stop all this from happening.
  40. And next we have another char between 8th 10th and 12th graders,
  41. as low, as low as eight grade people are binge drinking,
  42. getting drunk just drinking in total.
  43. And here I'm gonna say I did actually learn a lot from this.
  44. I didn't know that people this young were drinking because you know
  45. that's kind of crazy.
  46. In the eighth grade,
  47. I was thinking about anything else other than
  48. drinking because this is just such a heavy subject
  49. and how you know, my, my different sources really help me out here.
  50. I found a journal talking about how we are affected by drinking an american,
  51. just how we should go about lowering this limit.
  52. And then
  53. Next we have, as I was saying earlier,
  54. the 18 year olds have a lot of new responsibilities.
  55. They can get themselves in irreparable debt. They will never come back from that.
  56. They can vote for a president or they can just go off and fight a war because why not?
  57. So
  58. 10 things off here, I'm just saying, you know, just to lessen the burden a little,
  59. let them drink some so they can chill out.
  60. Talk about how
  61. And have a little, a nice little life going for him at 18 and seven,
  62. stress about everything.
  63. And uh,
  64. you know,
  65. to give a take away from this, I would say drink responsibly.
  66. Don't, don't binge drink. That's really bad. And that's not what I'm saying here.
  67. I'm saying.
  68. I'm saying we need this for change, help everything out and just, you know,
  69. start a little conversation.
