00:02 - 00:02
Hello, everybody.
00:03 - 00:04
My name is Jennifer Ebeling.
00:05 - 00:07
I live in Iowa with my two kids and my
00:07 - 00:09
husband. Boom.
00:09 - 00:12
Have all been graciously patient with me throughout this entire
00:12 - 00:16
process. Thankfully, um, I have always lived in Iowa.
00:17 - 00:21
Um, I don't expect myself to move from Iowa anytime
00:21 - 00:22
soon. I like the Midwest.
00:23 - 00:28
Uh, it's sometimes a little challenging with the weather, but
00:29 - 00:29
otherwise it's great.
00:30 - 00:33
I became a nurse, mostly because of my stuff.
00:34 - 00:37
Mm. When I was 14 she was going for her,
00:37 - 00:37
see any certificate?
00:38 - 00:42
And she asked her employer she could bring me as
00:42 - 00:44
well. They were willing to work with the child labor
00:44 - 00:48
loss, so they allowed me to get my sanity certificate
00:49 - 00:51
and work for them while I was in high school.
00:51 - 00:56
Uh, so I worked there on dhe.
00:57 - 00:58
I just knew that I wanted to be a nurse.
00:59 - 01:01
I loved working with geriatrics and the elderly.
01:01 - 01:04
I felt like they help me much work very quickly,
01:06 - 01:09
and they provided so much inside and just knowledge for
01:09 - 01:11
how to live my life and live the world.
01:11 - 01:15
And a lot of them were very, very fun toe
01:15 - 01:15
work with too.
01:16 - 01:21
So, um, I have only worked in skilled nursing facilities.
01:22 - 01:25
I've been a variety of positions, though.
01:25 - 01:27
CNN Ace Medicaid, Florida.
01:27 - 01:28
Ours Unit manager.
01:29 - 01:32
My work doesn't MPs coordinator for about 10 years, and
01:33 - 01:36
then most recently I accepted an assistant director of nursing
01:37 - 01:39
position and Omaha, Nebraska disco facility there.
01:40 - 01:46
Um, eventually, when I get my Masters, I'm hoping, um,
01:47 - 01:48
take it a little bit more experience as an assistant
01:49 - 01:51
director of are saying, but to build up on my
01:52 - 01:52
leadership skills.
01:53 - 01:55
But I would like to become a director of nursing
01:56 - 02:00
somewhere. Um, I am hoping my bachelors opens up some
02:00 - 02:03
more doors so I might get out of my comfort
02:04 - 02:04
zone at a school facility.
02:05 - 02:07
I very well may choose to stay out of school
02:07 - 02:14
facility as well by, um, I would like to definitely
02:15 - 02:17
kind of change people's outlooks on nursing homes.
02:17 - 02:19
There's only the scary stories out there.
02:19 - 02:21
There's a lot of good that happens at nursing homes
02:21 - 02:24
to right now is a big challenge because of covert
02:25 - 02:27
19 and all the limitations that we have to protect
02:28 - 02:30
our residents and staff right now.
02:32 - 02:33
So every day is a new challenge.
02:33 - 02:35
We're trying to keep everybody's Morales up.
02:35 - 02:38
We're tryingto come up with different things to help them
02:38 - 02:42
in ST busy, um, and engaged with their families as
02:42 - 02:43
much as we can.
02:43 - 02:49
Ah, with technology today as well, but so hopefully, um,
02:50 - 02:53
I have considered going on for my master's.
02:53 - 02:57
I very much may take a break after my bachelor's,
02:57 - 03:01
though. Has, um I think I need to focus on
03:01 - 03:04
the family for a little while, but, um, I know
03:05 - 03:08
education and teaching is something that I've always strived for
03:08 - 03:08
as well.
03:09 - 03:11
Um, and I know my masters would help with that.
03:12 - 03:14
Um, we'll see.
03:15 - 03:18
But looking forward to this class with everybody on the
03:18 - 03:19
some of you from before.
03:19 - 03:22
So looking for a dork and with you guys again,
