  2. I'm a communications major here at thomas more and I'm in my second year.
  3. I do have a job on and off campus on campus.
  4. I work at the welcome desk right as you walk in the ambitions building.

  7. Um An off campus,
  8. I work at a place um here in northern
  9. Kentucky called Thompson and ammo for my grandparents and
  10. I just make water colors and acrylics for people
  11. to paint on stained glass windows and everything.
  12. And that's how some of that stuff comes to be.
  13. Um I did volunteer at the Newport aquarium for about 4 to 5 years
  14. and then Covid hit so I was not able to do it anymore,
  15. but I'm hoping
  16. to get back into it
  17. soon.
  18. Um, and then
  19. the media apps and the media platforms. I use the most,
  20. there's a lot of them, but I'll just slim it down.
  21. I use the news up on my phone and I try to read a couple articles a day.
  22. Um just to keep in touch with um,
  23. everything on, everything going on that day or that week,
  24. the month and in different countries or in our country.
  25. Um
  26. and then I do the social media stuff I use,
  27. I use instagram and I have a main and a spam account and my main is
  28. family stuff like I post all the trips I've taken with my family,
  29. the serious like pictures of my friends and my spam account.
  30. I just used the funny pictures,
  31. I've been with my friends and I just made the account recently.
  32. Um,
  33. and then I have Snapchat and I just Snapchat my friends a lot
  34. and I post on my story, um, Pinterest.
  35. I have a ton of different boards dedicated for
  36. each of my siblings and just things that made
  37. me think of them and what I would like to get them for christmas or their birthday.
  38. I have a room inspiration one and it just helps me get ideas.
  39. And then my sister is getting married in october,
  40. so I have one for her wedding and how I help her
  41. plan this stuff because she wants me to help her.
  42. Um, because she doesn't have a Pinterest.
  43. Um, and then I do have Tiktok, a lot of us have Tiktok, I would assume. And it's,
  44. and it's a very addicting
  45. to have and I'm on it so much and my screen time would just
  46. bath with you guys. Um,
  47. I'm trying to be on it last,
  48. but
  49. that brings me to the next one.
  50. The next question.
  51. The media platform that
  52. um,
  53. I believe deserves the most critical attention right now would have
  54. to be social media because there are so many platforms and
  55. millions of people on each of them every single day and
  56. the things that happen on them are good and are bad.
  57. Um, I know on Tiktok there's a lot of trends that are not ideal and they,
  58. um, there's some of them damaging the school.
  59. Um and then on instagram and just other apps, there's hit list that go on.
  60. There was one at my middle school that my little sister and my cousin go to,
  61. they weren't on it, but people thought it was a joke and the kid did not,
  62. I think it was a joke whatsoever.
  63. Um but people don't think take things seriously if they're on um social media,
  64. if it's in person, they would take it, I guess seriously.
  65. But since it's online, social media is supposed to be a joke,
  66. it's not serious enough for people to want to care.
  67. Um
  68. but I think that social media does need us um
  69. A lot of attention right now,
  70. especially with the cyber bullying and I've been bullied online.
  71. It's not, it's not fun.
  72. And with all the rise of the new social media platforms for this generation alone,
  73. like Instagram um new in the past 12 years, I think Facebook has been around a while,
  74. but people still have it.
  75. And
  76. um Snapchat wasn't,
  77. there hasn't been a good app in the past and it was not used for good things.
  78. Tiktok people are turning it into other things, judging people for their
  79. religious belief, their sexuality, their political stand.
  80. Um So I've seen Tiktok's where people have a certain flag in the room and let's
  81. say it was pride or it was an american flag confederate flag trump flag biden flag,
  82. anything,
  83. people would go and would go straight to the comments and see what people say.
  84. People will be judging them for their beliefs, say that they're wrong.
  85. And I don't think we should be judging anybody for what we believe in because
  86. No one should make you change who and what
  87. um, you believe in,
  88. even if you were raised like that and you want to change your beliefs, go for it.
  89. If you were raised like that, don't want to change your beliefs, it's fine.
  90. Um, I just think
  91. with everything going on,
  92. social media definitely needs the most attention right now.
  93. Um, since there's everything's already on it,
  94. there's news article has already been posted on social media,
  95. just like the headlines and that could ruin someone's life or just
  96. people being canceled as they call nowadays can also ruin someone's life.
  97. So I think we should just talk about that.
