  1. morning, everyone.
  2. This is my weekly, uh, message to you for the
  3. performance art class.
  4. Just to remind you what's going on.
  5. I had some really great conversations with about half the
  6. class last week about your ideas for your essays.
  7. Um, and your performance projects.
  8. So I will be putting those the rest of the
  9. meetings that I promised in the diary this week so
  10. that you can come talk to me about your projects.
  11. And, you know, this is really meant to be an
  12. ongoing conversation.
  13. So it's not like we talk, and I say, Okay,
  14. you know, do this.
  15. That sounds good.
  16. And then that's it.
  17. You can come back and talk through it more.
  18. And I think you'll find that the more you talk
  19. about it, the more the the idea develops.
  20. Um, so, you know, definitely take advantage of that.
  21. Um, so, uh so, Yeah.
  22. I mean, I had a really great conversation with all
  23. of you.
  24. I thought we had a great conversation on Friday, and
  25. then things kind of escalated over the weekend.
  26. They got a bit, uh, it was really It really
  27. affected me.
  28. Um, quite strongly.
  29. Um, so yeah, So I just I just hope you're
  30. all doing well.
  31. Get in touch if you need to talk.
  32. Um, the topic for this week is quite related to
  33. everything. I mean, really change.
  34. And that's what I've been really thinking about these past
  35. few days.
  36. And I have a few ideas, not necessarily for things
  37. that I consider performances, but definitely definitely actions.
  38. Um, So I have the video about Alien Kulik, whose
  39. early work in the nineties was very much about his
  40. position as a Russian in posts in a post Soviet
  41. world. Um, so have a look at that.
  42. And then I realized it isn't always possible, especially because
  43. there's so many good idea.
  44. I mean, we are really limited with what we can
  45. do, because I didn't think the restrictions would be this
  46. strictly still in place.
  47. Um, you know, I mean, that's fine for our safety.
  48. I'm not commenting on that.
  49. Um, yeah, so I'll try to leave some time in
  50. class as well to talk about your projects if you
  51. want to.
  52. Um, that way we can sort of workshop them together.
  53. I've left comments on all of the peer support group,
  54. um, essays or, you know, paragraphs that you've written, and
  55. I just wanted to say thank you for engaging with
  56. that Thank you for embracing it.
  57. I'm really glad to hear it's it's working.
  58. Well, um, I was really worried.
  59. I thought people would be like, What the heck is
  60. the point of this?
  61. And, you know, as I said in many of the
  62. comments to you, the point is not that you use
  63. it and that you meet every day or talk every
  64. day. The point is that it's there.
  65. And even if you didn't access it at all, then
  66. you wrote some of you as some of you did.
  67. You know, we didn't meet a lot.
  68. But I was happy to know that it was there.
  69. And I'm so glad to hear that, because that was
  70. really the point.
  71. It was not ever meant to be anything extra or
  72. and I know I asked you to write about it.
  73. Um, and so you know, But thank you for doing
  74. that. If you didn't include your your paragraph, please.
  75. Do I really like to hear about how it's going
  76. for you?
  77. And also, if you know if if things are going
  78. well and you're struggling.
  79. Just please get in touch.
  80. Remember the no detriment, not no detriment.
  81. Comprehensive measures.
  82. Protection of disadvantage is going up for a vote in
  83. Senate this week.
  84. I know most of the people I know are going
  85. to vote for it.
  86. I don't want to give anyone false hope, but I
  87. really do believe that it will pass.
  88. Um, but, please, I just wanted to say this in
  89. case it doesn't pass, because I know that there are
  90. some schools where there are more concerns about this.
  91. Please know that the things that we do have in
  92. place do protect you.
  93. And so, um, I know it doesn't sound like it.
  94. Uh, you know, if a policy doesn't pass But a
  95. lot of the policy is confirming things that are already
  96. in place, so it's framing things that are already in
  97. place, like flexibility on extensions and things like that.
  98. Um, it's just confirming them.
  99. So it's, you know, it's been a loaded week last
  100. week. This week is going to be a loaded week.
  101. I'm already, you know, um, worried about senate and the
  102. discussion because I want every all the students to feel
  103. that, you know, we care about you because we do.
  104. But I understand how those meetings might come across.
  105. Um, and I just I really do look forward to
  106. meeting you on Friday, and I hope you're all well
  107. and just take care of yourselves.
  108. Um, you know, daffodils are a pound at the store
  109. if you go to the store.
  110. Um, and if you're a person who likes flowers, I
  111. can't tell you how much they cheer me up.
  112. So that's That's a tiny tip.
  113. Uh, just for what it's worth.
  114. All right, take care, everyone, and I'll see you on
  115. Friday.
