00:00 - 00:04
everybody. So for my original design challenge, I decided to
00:04 - 00:04
create a skirt.
00:05 - 00:09
So what inspired me is my mom, she was like
00:09 - 00:11
making a jacket for my brother using wall.
00:12 - 00:13
And I thought you know what, that would be great
00:13 - 00:15
idea to use wall on something.
00:16 - 00:19
And I started researching and then this is where my
00:19 - 00:20
dad came from.
00:20 - 00:24
Mhm. So as you can see, it's a symmetrical uh
00:25 - 00:29
culture wolf with the fabric on the back.
00:29 - 00:34
This fabric was made from an old case below and
00:34 - 00:37
then it is uh as we can see, it's sort
00:37 - 00:41
of petition or them um monochromatic scheme going on in
00:41 - 00:46
here and it is an eye line shift for the
00:47 - 00:48
shape of the skirt.
00:49 - 00:53
Uh The time commitment took me about five hours and
00:54 - 00:56
then I will I will show you why because took
00:57 - 01:00
me to make those lines about five hours, to be
01:00 - 01:01
honest, that's a long time.
01:01 - 01:04
There's there was no budget zero, I didn't pay anything,
01:05 - 01:06
it's all from my house.
01:06 - 01:08
And then the planning took me about an hour.
01:09 - 01:19
Mhm. Uh Yeah, so again, my creative process is thinking
01:20 - 01:23
uh thinking about what could I do with this?
01:24 - 01:26
And then I start looking around the house about fabric
01:27 - 01:32
uh extra and then ideas through online and Pinterest.
01:33 - 01:34
And then this is where it came from.
01:36 - 01:37
So let's just start looking at step by step.
01:39 - 01:41
Uh So this is as you can see here, I
01:41 - 01:45
I thought I will be using um colour, the colour
01:45 - 01:49
white, but when I start working on it um I
01:50 - 01:51
decided, you know what, that would be not cute.
01:52 - 01:53
Uh So that's why I changed.
01:54 - 01:57
So I used bull case and then we'll extra from
01:57 - 01:57
my mom.
01:58 - 02:06
Uh start got um cardboard and then start putting the
02:06 - 02:07
world around it.
02:07 - 02:09
As you can see, this is what took me too
02:09 - 02:11
long. Too long.
02:12 - 02:13
And then I glue out in here.
02:17 - 02:21
I start cutting it using scissor, and then I took
02:21 - 02:22
the board off.
02:23 - 02:27
Mhm. And then I start glowing between it just to
02:27 - 02:29
make sure that nothing falls down.
02:30 - 02:35
And then I made this belt using all soul as
02:35 - 02:36
you can see here.
02:37 - 02:39
Yeah, also gluing piece by piece.
02:39 - 02:41
So you can see here, I made a line.
02:43 - 02:45
Uh and then it became like that.
02:46 - 02:49
Mhm. And then this is the final product before I
02:50 - 02:51
go to the back of the skirt.
02:57 - 03:00
So the final product I will show you right now
03:01 - 03:01
is like that.
03:02 - 03:04
So as you can see here, this is the front
03:04 - 03:04
of the skirt.
03:05 - 03:10
Uh This is the uh the skirt my brother wearing
03:12 - 03:13
and then this is the back of it.
03:16 - 03:20
What I learned from this project is that sometimes your
03:20 - 03:23
process will change over time or when you start working
03:23 - 03:29
on something um your first idea, maybe it's not going
03:29 - 03:32
to be the end of product, so be acceptable to
03:32 - 03:35
change if you don't like him and that's totally fine.
03:35 - 03:38
I think at the beginning I thought I will do
03:38 - 03:42
the whole skirt covered with well, like the first, the
03:42 - 03:46
first half and at the end I decided not because
03:47 - 03:49
it was not, it was too much and then I
03:49 - 03:50
didn't look cute.
03:50 - 03:53
It looked it looked like a baggie um scared.
03:54 - 03:55
So I thought, you know what, that would be great
03:56 - 03:58
if it doesn't have to be like what I thought
03:58 - 04:01
at the beginning, and this is where I think I
04:01 - 04:03
learned from him from this project.
04:04 - 04:06
Sometimes things will change and that's totally fine.
04:06 - 04:09
You don't have to stick to your idea at the
04:09 - 04:11
beginning, you don't have to stick to the picture, you
04:11 - 04:12
were deciding in your mind.
