00:01 - 00:04
Hi, My name is Chiara Reid is And this is
00:04 - 00:09
a presentation for virtual learning for Children during Covid 19.
00:11 - 00:11
Uh huh.
00:13 - 00:15
So what is about your learning?
00:16 - 00:21
Virtual learning is receiving education through the format of a
00:21 - 00:28
computer, a laptop, a tablet or phone, something of the
00:28 - 00:29
electronic source.
00:30 - 00:31
It is receiving education.
00:32 - 00:35
It is not firmly in the classroom, but you receive
00:36 - 00:42
activities. Sometimes it's like video instruction, homework assignments and things
00:42 - 00:45
of that nature through online source.
00:49 - 00:50
What is a virtual classroom?
00:51 - 00:54
A virtual classroom is basically the same thing.
00:54 - 00:57
It's just not being in an educational institution.
00:58 - 01:03
You're receiving your education through the format of online elect
01:04 - 01:07
electronics. Mhm.
01:09 - 01:14
Yeah. So when Kobe hit a lot of the schools
01:14 - 01:16
closed and this is just not locally.
01:17 - 01:17
This is nationally.
01:20 - 01:23
I feel like when Covid first hit and the kids
01:23 - 01:26
were joined, the virtual that it was a temporary fix.
01:27 - 01:30
But it was not effective, as we can see through
01:30 - 01:37
many documentations of research, that Covid has brought down the
01:37 - 01:39
educational status and level of our Children.
01:39 - 01:42
Our Children are not succeeding and that they are failing
01:44 - 01:46
mhm, although that is the fact.
01:47 - 01:50
A year and a half later, we do see how
01:50 - 01:51
virtual learning did have.
01:52 - 01:55
Is that its advantages, such as?
01:56 - 01:57
Yeah, being inexpensive.
01:59 - 02:04
They came into school being able to access your homework
02:04 - 02:09
24 7 and the Children not being exposed to the
02:09 - 02:10
Covid 19 virus.
02:11 - 02:15
So virtual learning did have some advantages.
02:16 - 02:18
But then there were some disadvantages as well.
02:22 - 02:23
Some of the disadvantages.
02:24 - 02:25
Some of the Children were procrastinating.
02:27 - 02:28
They were showing up to class, not on time.
02:29 - 02:29
They were sleeping.
02:31 - 02:32
They were missing sessions.
02:32 - 02:35
They were turning in their homework and completed.
02:36 - 02:41
They were not assuming accountability, and I feel as if
02:41 - 02:46
they were not taking online learning seriously at the age
02:47 - 02:47
that they are now.
02:48 - 02:52
And this goes for grade school, age, middle school.
02:53 - 02:57
I feel as though the high school students were more
02:58 - 03:01
able to be independent and to complete the assignment.
03:04 - 03:09
What, back to the disadvantages, the disadvantages were it affected
03:11 - 03:15
students all across the nation and Children were not receiving
03:16 - 03:19
the one on one instruction and care that they needed.
03:21 - 03:24
And I feel as though the virtual learning because they
03:24 - 03:28
missed out on the cognitive and the social interaction.
03:28 - 03:31
It led to a lot of anxiety with the students.
03:32 - 03:39
Hopelessness, failure, the Children not being attentive and depression.
03:43 - 03:44
Yeah, I think.
03:45 - 03:50
But as I've said, there are always pros and cons.
03:50 - 03:55
There were advantages where the teachers were able to do
03:55 - 03:59
the best that they could to instruct these many students
03:59 - 04:00
while they were at home.
04:01 - 04:02
It was a tough time for everyone.
04:03 - 04:06
Parents, educators, staff, etcetera.
04:08 - 04:15
Yeah, yeah, my final thoughts.
04:15 - 04:17
I feel as though the kids need to go back
04:17 - 04:18
to school.
04:18 - 04:20
My final thought is it was not effective.
04:21 - 04:22
It was a temporary fix.
04:22 - 04:25
It was just something to do to get by until
04:25 - 04:26
we can figure out the next plan.
04:27 - 04:29
I say, Let's get the Children back in school.
04:29 - 04:31
My name is Chiara readers, and thank you for listening
04:31 - 04:32
to my presentation.
