  1. Hi Women in politics, I'm really excited to see what you've all put together.
  2. I'm Jacob or jake Sablan,
  3. I'm a senior in buck house uh an educational studies major with
  4. a concentration in theory and practice studying to be a classroom teacher.
  5. Um and I'm really, really excited for this course.
  6. Um The reason I'm taking this course is because it fulfills my last gen, it cut it,
  7. but I only wanted to take classes that I was I was truly interested in.
  8. Um and
  9. women in politics is such a fascinating lens to me,
  10. particularly going into a field that is dominated by women.
  11. Um
  12. and I am, I'm so interested to see what that plays in our particular economic view,
  13. but also in just the concept in general,
  14. I think it's such a fascinating lens that I've
  15. never considered um personally in my own experience,
  16. but I'm really, really excited to dive in deeper.
  17. I'm also really excited because this course is asynchronous
  18. and I think that's such a lovely thing,
  19. I didn't know that going in.
  20. Um and I'm interested to see how the
  21. structure of this course um plays out differently
  22. than maybe other courses I've taken or other online courses I've taken in the past.
  23. Um I'm a family oriented guy,
  24. just some stuff about me um I was raised by two wonderful parents, Nathan Connie,
  25. many of you know them from the upper school and I grew up with two siblings.
  26. Um Josh is my twin brother, he's a minute older than I am,
  27. he holds it over to me to this day uh and my older sister, Hannah,
  28. who is 2.5 years older than me, um many of you know her as well,
  29. she went to college for a number of years um and to the upper school as well.
  30. Um and then later in my experience, uh David,
  31. my oldest brother um came into my experience um
  32. after some of his own familial um drama wound him
  33. sleeping on our couch for a number of weeks, a number of months.
  34. Um and he just kind of became part of our dynamic.
  35. There was never any formal adoption, but he calls my parents his parents,
  36. I call him my older brother and he's just,
  37. he's just wonderfully a part of our dynamic and I love him dearly.
  38. I also have two wonderful pets in the top right is koa, he's my french bulldog,
  39. he's adorable and there's Sedona as well, she's our english.
  40. Um and I love them dearly.
  41. And lastly, just some of my hobbies and interests, I'm a singer songwriter,
  42. I've performed in a number of Starbucks performances.
  43. I'm a lifelong teacher, I've been doing it for um a long, long time,
  44. I would say started heavily in high school,
  45. but also before that and and certainly after that, I love being silly and Goofy,
  46. you can see my brother and I, we made a little pool when it flooded one year at home
  47. and I love my friends and I have many of them um
  48. in and around the college campus that I regularly hang out with.
  49. We love being goofy, we love doing random things. I've also taken it upon myself to um
  50. obtain as many certifications as possible.
  51. The one on the screen is my Certificate of Ministry,
  52. um ordained by the Universal Life Church.
  53. Um I'm also a Lord and I hold a whole bunch of other random useless
  54. skills that have earned the certifications and titles and also a number of jobs,
  55. but they're just kind of silly.
  56. I do it for fun.
  57. Um and I just love doing it, but that's me, really excited to meet all of you.
  58. I'm excited to establish our peer working relationship and I'm excited
  59. to see what this horse holds have an awesome night guys,
