00:00 - 00:01
Mhm. Hello and welcome.
00:02 - 00:04
My name is Leah Spargo and this is my final
00:04 - 00:05
presentation for E.
00:06 - 00:06
T. C.
00:06 - 00:10
447 As a quick overview of what I'll be talking
00:10 - 00:11
about today.
00:12 - 00:15
I will be covering my philosophy of education relating to
00:15 - 00:17
technology as well as the I.
00:17 - 00:17
S. T.
00:18 - 00:18
Standards for educators.
00:22 - 00:25
My philosophy of education relating to the integration of technology
00:26 - 00:28
has for lack of a better term blossom.
00:29 - 00:32
This semester I realized that there are multiple ways to
00:33 - 00:36
integrate technology into lessons while also being able to accommodate
00:36 - 00:39
students for their individual needs which relates to the U.
00:39 - 00:39
D. L.
00:39 - 00:43
Principles. This is really important to me because I want
00:43 - 00:45
to be able to support my students so that they
00:45 - 00:47
can throw after the best of their abilities in the
00:47 - 00:47
learning environment.
00:50 - 00:52
Technology integration has also shown me that I can make
00:53 - 00:57
presentations lessons and materials as relatable to students as I
00:57 - 01:00
want. Such as the Butterfly Cycle project or my group
01:00 - 01:03
user an audio provided for activities like a word search
01:03 - 01:05
and me learning about the cycle kid friendly.
01:07 - 01:09
My views of my philosophy of education have changed and
01:09 - 01:12
grown throughout the semester and I'm excited to put my
01:12 - 01:14
ideas and beliefs into my teaching in the near future.
01:16 - 01:19
There are many different standards for both educators and students,
01:19 - 01:21
but today I'll be talking about the seven I.
01:22 - 01:22
S. T.
01:22 - 01:23
Standards for educators.
01:24 - 01:28
The first standard is learner as an educator.
01:29 - 01:31
It is really important to continue to improve your teaching
01:32 - 01:36
methods and practices surrounding technology by learning from and with
01:36 - 01:40
others. For my own classroom, I plan on indulging in
01:40 - 01:43
courses focused on growth surrounding technology so I can incorporate
01:44 - 01:46
my new skills in the classroom and share my knowledge
01:46 - 01:51
with open arms educators becoming learners allows for growth and
01:51 - 01:53
how we can improve student learning.
01:57 - 01:58
The 2nd Standard is leader.
02:01 - 02:04
The standard talks about how educators are always seeking out
02:04 - 02:08
opportunities to support their students of success while also improving
02:09 - 02:10
their own teaching and learning alike.
02:11 - 02:14
As a leader in my classroom, I will show my
02:14 - 02:17
students how to use different technology tools by modeling and
02:18 - 02:21
verbally explaining what I'm doing, modeling for my students and
02:21 - 02:23
proves my own teaching and that I can learn from
02:24 - 02:27
my mistakes and triumphs during this time as well as
02:27 - 02:29
give students the freedom to ask questions and become more
02:29 - 02:31
comfortable and familiar with the technology.
02:34 - 02:35
The 3rd Standard is citizen.
02:38 - 02:41
Citizen is about educators inspiring their students to be a
02:41 - 02:44
positive impact in the world by contributing to and responsibly
02:45 - 02:47
participating in the technological world.
02:48 - 02:51
In my future classroom, I will promote curiosity and critical
02:51 - 02:55
examination of all digital devices we use so that I
02:55 - 02:56
can establish a learning culture.
02:58 - 02:59
I can do this by introducing new pieces of technology
03:00 - 03:03
and a mini lesson and then having students explore its
03:03 - 03:07
possibilities in small groups while I monitor this activity would
03:07 - 03:10
allow for students to contribute to each other's knowledge as
03:10 - 03:12
well as show that they can set a good example
03:12 - 03:14
for being an active, responsible participant.
03:17 - 03:19
The 4th standard is collaborator.
03:21 - 03:24
This standard means that as educators, we come together with
03:24 - 03:27
other colleagues and students alike and work to improve, share
03:28 - 03:31
and discover new resources and ideas as well as solve
03:31 - 03:35
problems collaboratively as a future teacher, I will learn with
03:35 - 03:38
my students of the new technological tools and be a
03:39 - 03:39
part of their discovery.
03:41 - 03:44
Doing this would allow for us to talk collaboratively about
03:44 - 03:46
what the tools do, how we can use it in
03:46 - 03:49
the classroom and what benefits it has the students that
03:49 - 03:50
follow the U.
03:50 - 03:50
D. L.
03:50 - 04:00
Guidelines. The 5th standard is designer and educators job as
04:00 - 04:03
a designer is to recognize and accommodate all levels of
04:03 - 04:06
learning by designing activities in environments that are learner driven
04:07 - 04:09
and authentic in my future classroom.
04:10 - 04:13
I plan to create and use lessons that implement digital
04:13 - 04:16
tools in order to maximize student learning, create a space
04:16 - 04:19
where students are relating the material as well as accommodate
04:20 - 04:22
and modify to every student's needs.
04:25 - 04:30
The six standard is facilitator, taking the role as a
04:30 - 04:34
facilitator means that you are continually supporting student achievement, having
04:34 - 04:37
to do with technology relating specifically to the I.
04:37 - 04:38
S. T.
04:38 - 04:41
Standards for students in my future classroom.
04:41 - 04:44
I'll provide students with instruction for learning materials such as
04:44 - 04:48
online projects and assignments that depend creative expression to communicate
04:49 - 04:52
ideas, knowledge and connections, modeling.
04:52 - 04:55
What is expected will guide student achievement and therefore present
04:56 - 04:58
an environment that pushes students to do their best.
05:02 - 05:08
The 7th and Final Standard is analyst Part of being
05:08 - 05:11
a teacher means taking analysis of the student's progress with
05:12 - 05:15
the instruction, both from using formative and summit of assessments.
05:16 - 05:18
It is these assessments that are used to guide the
05:18 - 05:21
pace of the instruction in the classroom as well as
05:21 - 05:25
support students in achieving their learning goals in my future
05:25 - 05:28
classroom. I will provide different options for students to demonstrate
05:28 - 05:31
their competency of the topics and materials learned by using
05:31 - 05:37
technology. These technological demonstrations provide an educator with summit of
05:37 - 05:39
assessments on how well the students are understanding the information
05:40 - 05:42
and can therefore paced instruction based on those results.
05:51 - 05:51
Thank you for watching.
05:52 - 05:53
I hope you enjoyed the presentation.
