00:01 - 00:06
Okay, so my name is Kesten ing Perry.
00:07 - 00:12
I was born in Rapid City, South Dakota, and when
00:12 - 00:14
I was five, my mom, my brother and I moved
00:14 - 00:19
to twin falls to be closer with my grandpa because
00:19 - 00:22
he doesn't be in Twin Falls at the time, and
00:23 - 00:24
he he moved to New Mexico.
00:26 - 00:32
And so my mom had meant her her boyfriend at
00:32 - 00:32
the time.
00:32 - 00:36
And so we moved to Buell and went to school
00:37 - 00:37
there for about a year.
00:39 - 00:42
And then that's when they were getting serious, and that's
00:42 - 00:42
when they got married.
00:43 - 00:47
So we then move to where he was living, which
00:47 - 00:53
was in Hagerman when I was seven, being Cameron or
00:53 - 00:57
seven and removed Langerman toe live with him because they
00:58 - 00:58
got married.
00:58 - 01:03
And I guess it was that time and then my
01:03 - 01:07
stuff that he got transferred two grand view the part
01:07 - 01:11
in the power plant in Grandview, and we ended up
01:11 - 01:14
moving there, and we spent a couple years Sarah.
01:14 - 01:17
I was there for my fourth and fifth and sixth
01:17 - 01:22
grade a year, and then from there I wanted to
01:22 - 01:26
live with my grandpa, so I lived attempt for about
01:26 - 01:26
a year in New Mexico.
01:27 - 01:30
And then I moved back with my mom here in
01:30 - 01:33
that home because she got a divorce and she ended
01:34 - 01:34
up in my home.
01:36 - 01:41
And then I went to mountain home for my for
01:42 - 01:45
the rest of my seventh grade here in my eighth
01:46 - 01:46
grade year.
01:47 - 01:51
And then during like, half of my eighth grade year,
01:52 - 01:54
I wasn't doing so good and I just wanted to
01:54 - 01:57
leave. So I went and moved with my mom's mom,
01:59 - 02:03
my grandma in Florida, and it was a really good
02:03 - 02:07
experience, and I lived there for about a year and
02:07 - 02:11
then I came back and I just because I miss
02:12 - 02:15
my read my brother and that's the main reason I
02:15 - 02:18
moved back in then.
02:19 - 02:22
So I was hearing mountain home again, and I spent
02:22 - 02:28
my 9th 10th 11th control grades here in Mountain Home.
02:29 - 02:31
So mainly my high school years.
02:32 - 02:37
But I've always been considered the the new girl, and
02:37 - 02:38
it was kind of hard.
02:38 - 02:41
That part was kind of hard for me to make
02:41 - 02:45
new friends and stuff because I was just always the
02:45 - 02:51
new girl and, you know, it's hard before people ever
02:51 - 02:54
knew when there's people that were born and raised there,
02:54 - 02:56
and they have a lot of friends and click.
02:57 - 02:58
So it was a struggle.
02:58 - 03:02
But, um, I found I found friends everywhere he went,
03:03 - 03:08
and I'm glad to say that and my family that
03:09 - 03:13
I'm close to will definitely be my twin brother because
03:14 - 03:16
he has been by my side through it all.
03:16 - 03:19
And he knows exactly we live the same life pretty
03:20 - 03:23
much, and he just always is understanding, because he was
03:24 - 03:24
right there, too.
03:25 - 03:29
And another person that's close to me is my Aunt
03:29 - 03:31
McHale in a color Rooney.
03:31 - 03:35
And she's She's only like two years older than me.
03:35 - 03:39
So we've always gotten along and we're really close because,
03:39 - 03:43
you know, I was living with her when I lived
03:43 - 03:46
with my grandpa because that's his daughter.
03:47 - 03:50
And then my best friend through high school was Trinity
03:50 - 03:54
Simino, and she was my neighbor and it was a
03:54 - 03:59
really good relationship, and we're just best friends forever, and
04:00 - 04:03
my goals would be right now.
04:04 - 04:08
My first goal would to be to get a driver's
04:08 - 04:12
license, and then my second goal would be to buy
04:12 - 04:15
a car with my own money, and then my third
04:16 - 04:19
would be hopefully to Goto College to be a dental
04:20 - 04:23
hygienists because that's just been my dream for the longest
04:24 - 04:25
time is to, I don't know.
04:25 - 04:26
I just really like teeth.
04:27 - 04:31
And focus is this seems like a really good career
04:31 - 04:31
for me.
04:32 - 04:35
Eso and then my fourth goal would be to just
04:36 - 04:38
be happy and fulfilled with my life.
04:40 - 04:42
My my work experience.
04:42 - 04:46
I got my first job when I was 14 at
04:46 - 04:52
L. Herod Arrow here in tone, and after about a
04:52 - 04:56
year of working there, I quit because it just wasn't
04:56 - 04:59
working on, and my second job was when I was
05:00 - 05:03
16 in the summer in South Dakota.
05:04 - 05:05
It was just a summer job.
05:06 - 05:07
So I only worked there for a couple of months.
05:09 - 05:11
And then my third job was Wendy's here in town.
05:12 - 05:16
That was when I was 17 and that didn't go
05:16 - 05:18
too well just because of the managers and employees.
05:20 - 05:24
But, um, right now I'm working at Albertsons and the
05:24 - 05:27
fresh cut department, and I love it there so much
05:27 - 05:31
like it's a just the best job I've ever had,
05:31 - 05:34
and I've been succeeding and I'm happy you.
05:34 - 05:37
So that's all that matters.
05:38 - 05:39
Um, my education.
05:41 - 05:42
I have been everywhere.
05:43 - 05:45
I've been to so many different schools.
05:46 - 05:51
So but for my high school for my high school
05:51 - 05:54
years, I have been here in mountain home in the
05:54 - 05:58
Mountain Home High school for ninth and 10th grade, and
05:58 - 06:00
then my June in the beginning of my junior year,
06:01 - 06:06
I got transferred to Bennett because of the anxiety that
06:06 - 06:08
I had and how much presenting.
06:09 - 06:12
They wanted us to dio in front of the class
06:12 - 06:14
and I would literally have panic attacks.
06:14 - 06:20
So I I talked Teoh, my principal, and they got
06:21 - 06:23
me transferred to Bennett like a soon as possible.
06:24 - 06:29
And it's been It's been amazing at Bennett because I
06:29 - 06:32
was struggling and I really feel like if I didn't
06:32 - 06:36
get the chance to be infinite, that I'm probably would
06:36 - 06:39
have dropped out from all the anxiety that some of
06:39 - 06:43
the classes gave me with the public speaking and presentations
06:44 - 06:47
like, it was really hard for me.
06:47 - 06:50
So I'm just so grateful that I got the chance
06:50 - 06:54
to be in Bennett and be a part of Bennett
06:55 - 06:56
you like.
06:56 - 07:02
It's just great, and my skills would be I'm a
07:02 - 07:05
very hard worker, like I take my job seriously any
07:06 - 07:06
job that I've ever had.
07:07 - 07:11
I've taken it so seriously because, like, I'm not going
07:11 - 07:14
to stand there and have someone pay me and through
07:15 - 07:16
me, just just stand there.
07:16 - 07:18
You know, like, I'm gonna prove myself and prove that
07:18 - 07:19
I'm worth that money.
07:20 - 07:25
And I've noticed that that's something that just comes natural
07:25 - 07:27
to me just to be a hard worker.
07:27 - 07:29
And not a lot of people are.
07:29 - 07:29
I've noticed.
07:31 - 07:35
Um, I also am efficient at my job.
07:37 - 07:40
I've learned how to be fast, but it's also good
07:40 - 07:45
quality. And that really matters, cause you could just do
07:45 - 07:48
something really fast and will just turn out like, not
07:49 - 07:53
good. Or you can do something really slow and make
07:53 - 07:53
it look perfect.
07:54 - 07:55
But it doesn't need to be perfect.
07:55 - 07:58
It just seems to be good quality and a good
07:59 - 08:02
time. And I'm reliable at my job.
08:03 - 08:05
All of my jobs, I'm reliable.
08:05 - 08:10
I don't call in, and that's pretty much it.
08:11 - 08:13
I'm there to show up, and I'm there to do
08:13 - 08:13
my job.
08:15 - 08:18
In my worth, I'm really honest and I'm chest worthy
08:18 - 08:21
like all just you know, any question you have all
08:21 - 08:25
answer it honestly, and I don't have a problem being
08:25 - 08:27
myself in being honest with myself.
08:27 - 08:32
So that's a good quality that not everyone has and
08:33 - 08:36
kind of, ah, quality that is hard to find in
08:36 - 08:37
other people.
08:37 - 08:39
I've noticed for myself at least.
08:40 - 08:44
And I'm also really good at listening and retaining information
08:46 - 08:50
because, um, I've just noticed I can I can listen,
08:50 - 08:52
I can pick up on it and I can do
08:52 - 08:57
it. So I mean, and also, I'm a team player.
08:57 - 09:03
So, like, I've I know what it feels like to
09:03 - 09:06
have to do all the work and get left with
09:07 - 09:08
all of everyone else's dishes.
09:09 - 09:12
And this not so I've always made it a point
09:13 - 09:15
to, you know, I wouldn't want to be put in
09:15 - 09:17
that position, so I'm not gonna put that person in
09:18 - 09:18
that position.
09:19 - 09:22
I'm gonna help them out, and I'm gonna, you know,
09:22 - 09:25
just be like, cause I've never looked at it as
09:26 - 09:26
we're on different levels.
09:27 - 09:29
I looked at it as you know, we're a team,
09:30 - 09:31
and I'm gonna help you if you help me.
09:32 - 09:34
And even if you don't help me, I'm still like
09:35 - 09:39
I'm still catch myself doing other people's jobs just because
09:40 - 09:42
just because I want to just because I'm a team
09:43 - 09:44
player, that's really it.
09:44 - 09:47
I I don't know why, but that's just the way
09:47 - 09:50
I am and you know someone else isn't going to
09:50 - 09:51
do it.
09:51 - 09:51
I'll do it.
09:52 - 09:52
I'll do.
09:53 - 09:56
I don't care because you know that's my job and
09:56 - 09:57
I take my job seriously.
09:57 - 09:59
And if that person doesn't want to do it, I
10:00 - 10:00
will do it.
10:01 - 10:01
Just a show.
10:03 - 10:07
People that like, you know, I can take care of
10:07 - 10:10
it and I'm a team player and I can I
10:10 - 10:16
can do this for that person And it's just not
10:17 - 10:18
hard for me to think about just to help other
10:19 - 10:22
people out in the work environment, because I know what
10:23 - 10:25
it's like to be all by yourself and be left
10:25 - 10:32
everything. And I'm just Yeah, and my senior quote would
10:33 - 10:36
be The night is still young and so are we.
10:37 - 10:39
And I picked that one because it really spoke to
10:40 - 10:44
me because, um, we're all graduating and I think we
10:44 - 10:50
should live our life right now right now, because this
10:50 - 10:52
is the youngest will be and this is our chance
10:52 - 10:53
to do it.
10:54 - 10:55
And so the night is young and so are we.
10:56 - 11:01
So let's go And that's end of my presentation.
11:02 - 11:03
Thank you for listening
