00:01 - 00:01
I am Welcome.
00:02 - 00:02
My name is Bethany.
00:03 - 00:06
I'm here to discuss a new marketing strategy with you
00:06 - 00:10
due to co vid 19 a universal Orlando resort.
00:11 - 00:13
First, I want to talk about where we are right
00:13 - 00:15
now, Dick.
00:16 - 00:19
To sum it all up, Cova 19 is definitely one
00:19 - 00:22
of the biggest impacting factors right now in business.
00:23 - 00:26
Um, it has forced a lot of businesses, thio clothes
00:27 - 00:28
or even filed for bankruptcy.
00:30 - 00:33
This marketing strategy is to help us understand how we
00:33 - 00:36
cannot go down that same path and to drive our
00:36 - 00:38
business forward during the global pandemic.
00:40 - 00:44
Upon a SWAT analysis of our organization, we have a
00:44 - 00:48
lot of really great strengths, some weaknesses, some great opportunities,
00:48 - 00:51
but also some threats that we need to discuss before
00:51 - 00:51
moving forward.
00:53 - 00:56
Our strength lies in our investment in our team members
00:56 - 00:57
and in our communities.
00:58 - 01:01
We do great education reimbursement programs for our team members.
01:02 - 01:04
We have volunteer opportunities for the community.
01:05 - 01:09
We do professional internships for our team members and we
01:09 - 01:13
also have merchandise that's specifically donates their proceeds.
01:13 - 01:15
Two different charities as well.
01:17 - 01:20
Some of our weaknesses may lie in the health of
01:20 - 01:23
our team members during this global pandemic, our location, which
01:23 - 01:27
is nestled in between I four and some communities that
01:27 - 01:28
already exist.
01:29 - 01:34
Communication, which is always a weakness in companies because you
01:34 - 01:37
can never really fully understand how one person communicates with
01:38 - 01:41
another. And it's always something that needs improvement and that
01:41 - 01:43
we are owned by a parent company.
01:43 - 01:47
So in our current climate, we are very thankful for
01:47 - 01:52
being owned by a parent company because they are helping
01:52 - 01:57
us financially to support our opportunities which lie in expanding
01:57 - 01:59
globally. So we are opening the new park in Beijing.
02:01 - 02:03
We're also opening a new park here in Orlando is,
02:03 - 02:05
well, Universal's epic universe.
02:06 - 02:10
We are opening new resorts around in the Orlando area
02:11 - 02:16
as well, and we're definitely capitalizing during our global pandemic.
02:18 - 02:21
Some of the threats, as you know the economy is
02:21 - 02:27
shrinking. Cova, 19 is impacting the travel in leisure industry
02:27 - 02:31
at an alarming rate and surrounding theme parks and resorts.
02:32 - 02:36
They are constantly comparing us to other theme parks in
02:36 - 02:38
the area and inclement weather.
02:39 - 02:41
While this may not seem like something that could very
02:41 - 02:44
much impact when our business hours air so short, a
02:45 - 02:48
rainstorm at three o'clock that we get every day definitely
02:49 - 02:51
does a number on our business.
02:51 - 02:56
However, we dio increasing Pancho sales on also the very
02:57 - 03:00
inclement weather like hurricanes that do happen to come and
03:00 - 03:00
cause part closure.
03:01 - 03:09
Sometimes this brings me to my first focus area, our
03:09 - 03:10
first focus areas.
03:11 - 03:12
We want to talk about how we're going to keep
03:13 - 03:16
guests returning to our area and into our theme parks.
03:17 - 03:20
Yeah, and the answer was so easy it was to
03:20 - 03:21
offer a mission incentive.
03:22 - 03:25
So we were offering by a day and get the
03:25 - 03:26
rest of the year for free.
03:27 - 03:30
This creates an obtainable visit for guests.
03:31 - 03:33
They are going to come back time after time because
03:33 - 03:35
they only have to pay to come in once.
03:35 - 03:38
This is great for families that air staying for a
03:38 - 03:41
week. And they don't have to pay for a park
03:41 - 03:42
ticket for every single day that they're here.
03:43 - 03:43
But pay once.
03:44 - 03:46
This also drives the incentive for visits throughout the rest
03:47 - 03:47
of the year.
03:47 - 03:52
A ZX Well, this also encourages our locals to become
03:52 - 03:53
annual pass holders.
03:53 - 03:57
So that way they're coming more frequently throughout the eras.
03:57 - 04:04
Well, but once we get those guests into our location,
04:05 - 04:07
how do we make sure that we're capitalizing them.
04:07 - 04:10
Since we're losing out on admission, thats brings me to
04:10 - 04:11
focus area, too.
04:12 - 04:16
How do we keep the guests spending way?
04:17 - 04:18
Offer merchandise incentives?
04:19 - 04:23
So great way to capitalize on the returning guests is
04:23 - 04:25
to offer in park exclusive promotions.
04:26 - 04:29
So these in Park Exclusive promotions we already have one
04:29 - 04:33
currently going on, and that is to spend $175 and
04:34 - 04:38
get ah, free wizarding world of Harry Potter wand with
04:38 - 04:38
their purchase.
04:40 - 04:42
I think this is a great way to capitalize on
04:42 - 04:45
collectors on people that do visit the parks more frequently
04:46 - 04:48
because it's offering an item that you can Onley get
04:49 - 04:50
if you spend this threshold.
04:51 - 04:53
And if you have a family of four, this is
04:53 - 04:56
very obtainable by simply buying a T shirt for everyone
04:57 - 05:02
in the family, which run between $25.40 dollars, depending on
05:02 - 05:06
what you're getting, uh, and a couple of souvenirs for
05:07 - 05:07
family and friends.
05:08 - 05:11
When put into that perspective, it is much more obtainable
05:12 - 05:13
for the guests to say, Okay, yeah, maybe I'm probably
05:14 - 05:18
going to spend $175 and if I'm already going to
05:18 - 05:18
be spending that much.
05:19 - 05:20
I might as well just get this one, too, because
05:21 - 05:22
it's completely free with my purchase.
05:23 - 05:27
So this offers the strategy to have those returning guest
05:27 - 05:28
spending more money on their visits.
05:29 - 05:34
And if we change the incentive, maybe every couple of
05:34 - 05:37
months, it keeps that guess more engaged in the merchandise
05:38 - 05:44
world as well, bringing us on to focus area three.
05:46 - 05:48
It's how do we keep the guest spending on food
05:48 - 05:48
and beverage?
05:48 - 05:50
So we talked a little bit about how we're going
05:50 - 05:50
to keep them.
05:50 - 05:54
Spending in merchandise and keeping those sales increased their on
05:54 - 05:57
the tangible goods were also going to talk about how
05:57 - 05:58
we're going to keep them spending on food and beverage.
06:00 - 06:02
So as of right now, we do offer in park
06:03 - 06:05
exclusive promotions for food and beverage.
06:06 - 06:09
These include the dining packages that we have for daily
06:09 - 06:12
use. So they purchase the dining card at the merchandise
06:13 - 06:16
locations and they pick different dining plans based off of
06:16 - 06:17
their families needs.
06:18 - 06:20
They can do one that is just strictly for ah
06:20 - 06:23
quick service restaurant, or they can do once for table
06:23 - 06:26
service. Restaurants is well, so they have different tiered systems
06:27 - 06:28
and they're going to pick the one that works best
06:28 - 06:28
for them.
06:29 - 06:33
This offers them a discount on their dining, along with
06:33 - 06:35
the out of guarantee that they're going to be spending
06:36 - 06:39
this money here already, so might as well do it
06:39 - 06:39
as a deal.
06:40 - 06:43
Uh, this encourages them to spend their money in food
06:43 - 06:46
and beverage and not just bring snacks from home or
06:47 - 06:50
thio, not eat while they're within the park's.
06:51 - 06:53
They also get beverages with ease, so it make sure
06:54 - 06:56
you keep them hydrated while they're staying as well.
07:02 - 07:04
Now, most of these plans are already in place.
07:05 - 07:09
Um, my goal of this presentation is to up our
07:09 - 07:14
marketing strategy and market thes more often in a different
07:15 - 07:19
locations. Currently, there are only being marketed once you are
07:19 - 07:19
within the park.
07:20 - 07:23
However, if we made this more obtainable in this information
07:24 - 07:27
more readily available to our guests before they even enter
07:27 - 07:32
the park, they can plan their day around thes investment
07:32 - 07:36
opportunities for their merchandise or for their food and beverage.
07:37 - 07:42
This way it increases thedc, a Munich ation about the
07:42 - 07:44
offerings, and the word of mouth gets out a lot
07:45 - 07:49
quicker. Um, so I encourage just Thio use thes opportunities
07:51 - 07:54
in our social media posts and so forth.
07:54 - 07:57
So that way there's more discussion about it.
07:58 - 08:03
Yeah, it's no wonder that cove it is affecting all
08:03 - 08:07
of our businesses around us, enforcing ones into closures and
08:07 - 08:10
bankruptcies. But with a push for a marketing strategy to
08:11 - 08:15
increase. It is going to lessen the burden on our
08:16 - 08:21
company and we will, and we'll be less likely Thio
08:23 - 08:25
have our business clothes or go bankrupt.
08:26 - 08:30
These will increase and drive results in our areas so
08:30 - 08:37
hopefully we will remain lucrative throughout the rest of the
08:37 - 08:37
global pandemic.
08:40 - 08:41
Thank you so much for your time today.
08:41 - 08:44
I hope you have enjoyed and we will be discussing
