00:01 - 00:04
Hello everybody. I'm nella.
00:05 - 00:09
And here's my self service projects.
00:10 - 00:13
I haven't used this software before. So kind of bear with me.
00:14 - 00:16
I'm still kind of getting used to it.
00:18 - 00:19
All right.
00:20 - 00:21
Mm hmm.
00:24 - 00:28
So the overview from my project was
00:29 - 00:31
to hand out food to homeless people,
00:32 - 00:35
give them a meal, give them some water.
00:35 - 00:42
And uh, we wanted to try to hand out as much as we could to as many people as we could.
00:49 - 00:52
Here's my objectives for this project. So
00:53 - 00:55
give back to the homeless community.
00:57 - 01:00
We wanted to influence others to be generous whenever they could.
01:01 - 01:03
There's a lot of people struggling out there and
01:04 - 01:06
especially in California, there is,
01:06 - 01:08
there's a lot of homeless people here.
01:09 - 01:12
So it felt good to give back to them
01:12 - 01:15
and see the smiles on their faces.
01:15 - 01:20
But I also managed and organized the team that
01:20 - 01:22
helped me put the meals together and deliver them.
01:23 - 01:27
And afterwards we reflected on what we did together.
01:31 - 01:31
Mm hmm.
01:33 - 01:35
So here's the timeline.
01:37 - 01:41
I gave myself about one week to get donations.
01:42 - 01:44
And then one day we
01:45 - 01:48
but all the water in the food and put it together. And then
01:48 - 01:49
the next day
01:50 - 01:51
we delivered it to everybody.
01:52 - 01:53
And uh,
01:54 - 01:56
we didn't receive too many donations.
01:56 - 02:01
I only asked a few people, some close family and friends to donate, but
02:01 - 02:05
We got about $85. Which covered everything,
02:06 - 02:07
which was nice.
02:12 - 02:13
All right.
02:13 - 02:18
So here's my top five leadership strengths that
02:18 - 02:25
I found out using the strength finder. 2.0, assessment.
02:26 - 02:30
So I think in this project being an empath izer,
02:30 - 02:33
it was probably the top strength
02:34 - 02:34
that I could,
02:34 - 02:36
could have utilized.
02:36 - 02:37
Ah,
02:38 - 02:41
just being able to give back to
02:41 - 02:43
the homeless and those in need
02:44 - 02:45
shows how
02:46 - 02:50
I was able to use this during the project.
02:50 - 02:53
Um, timekeeper, I,
02:53 - 02:57
everything that we did was finished on time.
02:57 - 03:00
Um, we weren't in a rush to finish anything.
03:00 - 03:02
I do wish I had more time
03:02 - 03:04
or I did have more time to
03:05 - 03:06
get donations.
03:06 - 03:11
I originally planned to give out more than just food and water, but it's okay.
03:12 - 03:13
Um, deliver.
03:15 - 03:16
Um,
03:16 - 03:17
let's see.
03:17 - 03:18
Well, we had a set plan
03:19 - 03:19
and
03:20 - 03:22
we did have to adjust some things,
03:22 - 03:27
but in the end we did deliver and finished everything that we planned to
03:29 - 03:31
and self believing coach.
03:32 - 03:32
Um,
03:32 - 03:41
I believed that we could set this up together and I was able to organize everybody and
03:42 - 03:44
I didn't really have to use too much coaching in this.
03:45 - 03:46
So
03:47 - 03:50
that strength wasn't used too much during the project.
03:54 - 03:55
Alright,
03:56 - 03:58
so here's a summary of what we did,
03:59 - 04:02
um, provided meals to the homeless community.
04:02 - 04:09
We did this in Oxnard's California. I just moved here about two months ago now.
04:09 - 04:14
Um, and we felt that the homeless people
04:14 - 04:18
I often forgot about. So this is, that's why we wanted to do this,
04:22 - 04:24
Here's my team. So
04:25 - 04:27
I just got a new job here about a month ago.
04:27 - 04:31
Originally, I was going to have my roommate and
04:31 - 04:34
my girlfriend's help me. But
04:34 - 04:34
yeah,
04:35 - 04:39
that didn't work out. So I had to find some new people, I don't know anyone in the area.
04:39 - 04:40
So
04:41 - 04:42
I had to
04:43 - 04:44
basically reach out to
04:45 - 04:48
these people I just met and see if they would help me and they were more than happy to,
04:48 - 04:49
which was nice.
04:50 - 04:51
All right.
04:51 - 04:54
Here is what we made.
04:54 - 04:57
So just put together some sandwiches,
04:57 - 05:00
put some oranges, some Pringles and water in there
05:01 - 05:03
And we made about five
05:04 - 05:04
um,
05:05 - 05:06
packages only.
05:07 - 05:11
I wanted to do 10, but I wanted, I didn't want there to be like
05:11 - 05:14
one sandwich only, so we gave two to each.
05:17 - 05:20
Alright, here are some changes that were made.
05:21 - 05:23
Well, I defined a new team last minute,
05:24 - 05:24
um,
05:25 - 05:28
which was a little bit stressful, but I managed to do that.
05:29 - 05:32
I didn't receive as many donations as plans.
05:32 - 05:36
I originally wanted to put in blankets and dog food because
05:36 - 05:40
there's a lot of homeless people that have dogs as well. And
05:40 - 05:46
we were going to deliver the meals in san luis Obispo, but I couldn't make it up there.
05:46 - 05:47
It's about two hours away.
05:47 - 05:52
So I stuck in my area and focused on just giving food to people.
05:56 - 06:02
So here's what my friends chris and Brandon said about the whole thing.
06:03 - 06:07
Um, on my end, it felt really good to give back and
06:07 - 06:10
kind of take a few days to
06:10 - 06:11
actually
06:12 - 06:15
do something I want to do every day and give back to the homeless
06:17 - 06:19
and just seeing the smiles on their faces
06:20 - 06:23
definitely made me feel like I made their day at least.
06:28 - 06:31
And I concluded thoughts were
06:32 - 06:38
if I ever did this again, definitely try to give myself more time for donations and,
06:38 - 06:39
um,
06:40 - 06:43
be able to give more than just a meal
06:43 - 06:44
to those who need it.
06:45 - 06:47
Um, definitely reach out to more people
06:48 - 06:49
and
06:50 - 06:53
yeah, put together more meals and maybe add some blankets and
06:54 - 06:57
stuff for the animals that are also homeless as well.
06:57 - 06:58
So,
06:59 - 07:00
oh, okay. There we go.
07:01 - 07:03
So that's my project.
07:03 - 07:07
Thank you for listening. And I hope you guys are doing good.
