  1. once again, we're part to, uh, living in the state
  2. of contentment.
  3. And this is part two.
  4. The first part.
  5. We talked about Waas living in the state of contentment
  6. where the Bible reads and first timidity, Chapter six versus
  7. six. Uh, it says, but godliness with contentment is great
  8. game. And so being content me is to be satisfied
  9. or to be content with what God has done and
  10. what God is doing in your life.
  11. So it says that in order when we're talking about
  12. the state, we're talking about your your state of being.
  13. And we're talking about how your mind, your will, your
  14. intellect, all your emotions, really the soulful part of you
  15. that make this season all of that needs to be
  16. Christ Center, meaning crisis, the center of our decision making
  17. crisis in the center of our consciousness.
  18. He is the reasons he is the lone If he
  19. is, he provides us with the intent.
  20. He gives us the wheel and the desire to do
  21. everything that is pleasing and acceptable into guy.
  22. And so when we made guy uh oh Jesus Christ
  23. center in our lives, we then now confine ourselves living
  24. in the state of contentment.
  25. And so we asked ourselves, What are the reasons why?
  26. Why should we be content?
  27. You know, why should we be content?
  28. Uh, what were you satisfied with?
  29. What God has done in our lives and for what
  30. God is doing in eyes?
  31. Well, God is doing in our lives.
  32. His ultimate goal is to conform, you and I into
  33. the image of our Lord and savior.
  34. Jesus Christ.
  35. So that's one of the reasons why Guy wants us
  36. to be content.
  37. He wants to mold us and shape us and make
  38. us into that image.
  39. In order to do so, he have to allow divine
  40. difficulties to come into our life so that it can
  41. grow us so that we can appreciate the goodness of
  42. his grace and his mercy and that we would know
  43. who he is as they interact with each and every
  44. one of us in our life.
  45. So one of the reasons why is that?
  46. Uh, we are to understand that we don't possess own
  47. anything. If we go to Verse seven.
  48. It says that we brought nothing into this world.
  49. So it is certain that we can carry nothing out
  50. of it so and wanted to understand that we need
  51. to know that we were born into this world.
  52. We were born naked.
  53. We came out of our mother's womb and we don't
  54. own anything.
  55. We didn't have a house.
  56. We didn't have a carbon at money.
  57. Uh, within the half close, we brought nothing into this
  58. world. And so when we die as everyone else, that
  59. that they can take nothing with them, they can not
  60. take anything over to, uh, the other world or the
  61. new life or whether it be heaven or hell.
  62. Nothing from this world and dislike can come over to
  63. the new World and that new life other than your
  64. spirit and your soul.
  65. So those are the only things that even that you
  66. don't even own that because God created you and I
  67. and his image and in his likeness.
  68. And so everything belongs to God, including our spirit and
  69. including our soul.
  70. We should be satisfied with what we had, Um, one
  71. of the things that we're not then and we need
  72. to recognize that we should be satisfied with what we
  73. had first eight says, and having food and Raymont let
  74. us be there with content.
  75. So what?
  76. As long as we have food and we have calls,
  77. we should be content with what God has already given
  78. us. Because those are things.
  79. They are essential.
  80. Tow us, surviving and living on this earth.
  81. Anything other than that, I mean, course shelter fans, bachelor.
  82. But with food, we can be satisfied and know that
  83. God is who he says he is.
  84. And he's a reward of them that diligently seek it.
  85. So we turned to the Book of Matthew, but to
  86. the gospel.
  87. I'm sorry of Matthew 1st 25 it is Chapter six,
  88. Verse 25.
  89. Therefore, I say unto you take no thought for your
  90. life. You should eat a when you should drink.
  91. Know what?
  92. Your body, Uh, what you should put on.
  93. There's not life more than meat and the body more
  94. than raiment.
  95. So here you have it.
  96. We're not even to be worried about or concerned about
  97. what we have to be satisfied, which you were drink
  98. and the clothes that we had.
  99. We may not have designer called, but as long as
  100. we continue that we had clean clothes and decent clothes,
  101. uh, and we should be satisfied with what God has
  102. provided for us.
  103. We fall into temptation if and when we desire and
  104. we covered things or when we come covet things that
  105. we're not supposed country.
  106. Okay, Verse nine says.
  107. But they will be rich.
  108. Fall into temptation and a snare and into many foolish
  109. and hurtful lusts was drowned.
  110. Man in destruction and perdition, for the love of money
  111. is the root of all easel, which, while some coveted
  112. after they have erred from the faith and pierced themselves
  113. through that with many start.
  114. So we tend to fall into temptation when we desire
  115. things well recovered the that we should not come it
  116. we desired any being independent of what God has for
  117. us. When we covered our friends, um, new house, a
  118. new car well, we mastered the Bible tells us not
  119. to cover our neighbor's wife.
  120. Oh, you know, sometimes we desire things that belong to
  121. other people.
  122. And when we find ourselves doing that, we're putting yourself
  123. in a situation where we're being drawn away from what
  124. God really has sports.
  125. You go to James.
  126. Chapter Tube gives us a really good understanding as to
  127. how best imitation comes apart, it says.
  128. Let no man when he said he is tempted.
  129. I am tempted.
  130. A guy for God cannot be tempted with evil.
  131. Neither tempted he any man.
  132. But every man is tempted when he is drawn away
  133. from his own lust and enticed, then when lust has
  134. conceived incredible sin and when seeing when it's finished and
  135. drinking for death.
  136. So this is what happens when you and I begin
  137. to cover or desire until us something that God has
  138. prohibited us to have.
  139. It now puts us in the situation where now we're
  140. being tempted, whether we're going to go after it, and
  141. that because the temptation comes when we're being drawn away
  142. from something that we desire that God says we cannot
  143. have. And we saw that in the garden of EQ.
  144. When God said, out of all the trees, Adam, any
  145. of you can really accept the tree of knowledge of
  146. good and evil.
  147. So God gave them the opportunity to eat a.
  148. The many of thousands of trees that was in the
  149. garden, hundreds, whatever it might have been.
  150. But it was the one tree.
  151. God said, No, you can't have that that tree, If
  152. you eat of entry, you shall surely die.
  153. And what does that mean?
  154. You just You're not only a physical death, but a
  155. spiritual death.
  156. That means we're separated from God when we did still
  157. paying him.
  158. So that's how contention works.
  159. Temptation is when God puts a prohibition on something and
  160. he says, No, you can't have it For whatever reason,
  161. God is sovereign and he has his reasons.
  162. Why mainly is to protect you and I from ourselves.
  163. And also God sees the ending from the beginning, so
  164. he knows what the outcome could be.
  165. God tells us not to do it.
  166. It's for our good.
  167. It's not because he just doesn't want us to have
  168. a good thing.
  169. You know, that's what the devil told evil guy.
  170. I just don't want you to be like, you know
  171. that's not the case.
  172. God doesn't want you and I to be triggered or
  173. to be controlled by my own fleshly desires and impulses.
  174. But he wants you and I to be leading to
  175. be controlled by the spirit of God there, which is
  176. righteous, that which is honorable, that which is true, that
  177. which is God.
  178. So why we don't live in a state of continued?
  179. That may be the question we want to ask us.
  180. One of the reasons why is that we don't feel
  181. that our needs are being met.
  182. We just don't feel our needs are being met some
  183. time. Sometimes we feel as though Well, okay, this is
  184. just not enough.
  185. But God meets Arnie.
  186. That's what did enough.
  187. But sometimes we look at it as though it's not
  188. enough. Okay?
  189. And if we go back to the gospel of Matthew,
  190. Captain sinks, there is a 31 says Take note ball,
  191. saying, when you show even what you should drink or
  192. where with the hope she'll be close 1st 33.
  193. But it says, but seek ye first, the kingdom of
  194. God and his righteousness and all these things shall be
  195. added unto you.
  196. So God's will meet our needs.
  197. But we need to seek him first, not only seek
  198. the person but the intent.
  199. Why we thinking it has to be righteous?
  200. It has to be the right heart behind seeking him
  201. if we're seeking him.
  202. Just to obtain things I heard is not right.
  203. And my heart is not cure.
  204. But if we seek in him because we want to
  205. know him is because we want to cultivate a relationship
  206. with him because we believe in him and we trust
  207. him. And we thank him and were gracious unto him.
  208. And we give obeisance onto him and we Prezi and
  209. honor him if we seek him because we want to
  210. know him for ourselves.
  211. And we want to establish and cultivate a relationship with
  212. our Lord and savior.
  213. And those are the righteous reasons why.
  214. And God said when you seek me and my righteousness
  215. all of the things that you have, neither she'll be
  216. at an a T shall be keeping up to you.
  217. Remember, He says his needs we look at it is
  218. not enough.
  219. But God being our needs in actuality, floor in it.
  220. What other reasons why we don't We don't.
  221. While we don't feel weird content, we don't, uh, have
  222. what we want.
  223. One of the reasons why we don't live in a
  224. state of containment is we feel we don't have what
  225. we want.
  226. Ah, I have one car.
  227. I have this Pierce, you know, wanting more.
  228. I mean, we never feel we have what we want.
  229. And the more we get, the more we want.
  230. And the Bible says we go to James jumped before
  231. in wreaths, starting with first one.
  232. Almost start reverse too.
  233. Reverse one system once coming wars and fightings among que
  234. conde not hands, even among your lust that you wore
  235. in your members you love and you have not and
  236. kill and desire toe have and cannot obtain.
  237. You're fighting your war yet you have not because that's
  238. not yet asked and received that, um because you asked
  239. them is that you may consuming upon your lust, all
