  93. when he would talk about his relatives and the woman he is supposedly in love with.
  94. Like that
  95. Nick and daisy are distant cousins who do not seem close at all.
  96. In the beginning of the novel,
  97. however,
  98. daisy seems quite fond of Nick as she is always
  99. excited to see him and even flirts with him a little
  100. In Chapter four, Tom even says
  101. Daisy is furious because he hasn't called up

  107. making no attempt to exclude dizzy
  108. how to make changes
  109. at the beginning of the novel, readers think highly of Nick in his moral code
  110. that is seemingly not present anywhere else.
  111. However, taking a closer look, reveals that he might not be
  112. as much of an honorable man as he once was.
  113. He accompanies tom and his mistress to a party
  114. where he gets drunk for only the second time
  115. that afternoon,

  117. respectful and reserved man readers see at the start
  118. as he turns a blind eye to tom cheating on his wife,
  119. not to mention how she is a cousin
  120. meeting. Got to be also instills many changes within the character of Nick
  121. first, he is no longer so honest
  122. because Nick becomes so dedicated to Gatsby,
  123. he does not tell the truth about the death of Myrtle.
  124. Nick begins to drink and party more, which does not have a good effect on him.
  125. And he also skips work to stay with Gatsby one day
  126. gets me asked Nick to set up a rendezvous between him and daisy and nick complies
  127. meaning he condones the affair.
  128. This is not morally right.
  129. However, not everything changes for the wars.
  130. By the end,
  131. Nick's internal conflict is resolved as he realizes through having met Gatsby

  138. and eventually Nick realizes he does not want anything to do with them.
  139. In conclusion,

  141. he has presented
  142. in a certain way that being modest, honorable, likable, and respectful,
  143. which he is at times,
  144. however, over time, he loses
  145. some of his sense of self and good judgment.
  146. He let tomorrow thanks slide under his nose
  147. and passes it off as being not judgmental.
  148. He becomes involved in situations that have lasting consequences.
  149. Nick realizes by the end that he is not a good fit for the glamorous lifestyle
  150. presented in new york and that socializing with those people did not do any good.
  151. As a result, Nick moves back home for a fresh start.
