  1. Hi. It's Mrs Hatfield with the sagging, not intermediate school
  2. district. When we eat a meal, half of our plate
  3. should be fruits and vegetables.
  4. That's a lot of fruits and vegetables.
  5. Sometimes we get sick of eating the same things, so
  6. we just stop eating them.
  7. I would like to give you some examples of some
  8. fun ways to eat your fruits and vegetables.
  9. Choose my plate dot gov is where I got the
  10. information that I'm sharing with you today.
  11. Next, let's look at some ways to make fruits and
  12. vegetables fun to eat.
  13. Smoothie creations air At first that sounds interesting.
  14. Blend yogurt and juice with fruit pieces and crushed ice.
  15. I like to use one cup of yogurt.
  16. Sometimes I even use a single serve container of yogurt,
  17. which is a little less than one cup with a
  18. half a cup of juice and a cup of fruit.
  19. ADM. Or or less yogurt or juice until the consistency
  20. is how you like.
  21. So it's a little bit too thick.
  22. You're gonna add a little bit more juice.
  23. If it's a little too runny, add two more yogurt
  24. or some more fruit.
  25. Use fresh, frozen, canned or even overripe fruits like bananas,
  26. Berries, peaches, pineapple are pretty much any fruit you have
  27. on hand.
  28. Berries work well with smoothies.
  29. If the Berries have a lot of seeds, like strawberries
  30. and raspberries, and you don't prefer that, try blueberries or
  31. bananas. They have smaller seeds that you don't notice.
  32. If you freeze the fruit first, then you can even
  33. skip the ice.
  34. There are so many varieties of smoothies you could make.
  35. I have used individual cups of yogurt, where you can
  36. get a large variety of flavors.
  37. I have mixed lemon yogurt with cranberry raspberry juice and
  38. put in strawberries.
  39. They have no.
  40. It sounds like an unusual combination, but I liked it.
  41. Experiment. Have fun with your different combinations.
  42. Look at that's movie that looks fantastic.
  43. Next up.
  44. Delicious dippers.
  45. What's that all about?
  46. Makes a quick dip for vegetables with yogurt and seasonings,
  47. such as herbs or garlic, served with raw veggies like
  48. broccoli, carrots or color flower like you see picture below.
  49. What about our fruits?
  50. Regular or flavored yogurt tastes great with fruit chunks or
  51. mixed regular yogurt with cinnamon for a different twist.
  52. Let's see what's next.
  53. Caterpillar kebabs.
  54. What's that all about assembled chunks of melon, grapes, pineapple
  55. and kiwi on skewers for fruity kebab.
  56. So you're going to take that kebab stick and just
  57. stick the fruits right on top of it.
  58. And it could be any kind of fruit that you
  59. have. Can you see why they are calling it the
  60. caterpillar? It really does look like one.
  61. For a raw version, choose vegetables like zucchini, cucumbers, squash,
  62. sweet peppers or tomatoes.
  63. Next stop.
  64. Let's check out those personal pizzas mm instead of take
  65. out, make pizzas yourself.
  66. Use whole wheat bagels, English muffins or pita bread as
  67. a crust.
  68. Have tomato sauce, low fat cheese and kind of vegetables
  69. to put on top warm in the oven or the
  70. microwave. Let me show you my example down below what
  71. I would use.
  72. I would use an English muffin, tomato sauce, mozzarella cheese,
  73. mushrooms, olives and peppers.
  74. Oh, the combinations are endless.
  75. You could choose anything that you would like on your
  76. pizza. Next up, frosty fruits.
  77. Try putting fresh fruits like melon chunks are strawberries in
  78. the freezer and enjoy.
  79. Peel a banana, insert a stick and freeze for a
  80. popsicle. Now remember, these aren't just four summertime I know
  81. my kids love to eat frozen treats in the winter
  82. to, so keep that in mind bugs on a log.
  83. For the log, use celery, carrot sticks or cucumbers.
  84. Add peanut butter or yogurt on the top of the
  85. log. For the bugs, use dried fruit such as raisins,
  86. cranberries or Cherries.
  87. As a kid, I loved ants on a log.
  88. I would use celery and kind of that ridge that's
  89. right in the middle.
  90. I would fill that inside of it with peanut butter
  91. and then add raisins on the top of the peanut
  92. butter, which made it look like little ants walking along
  93. the log up.
  94. Next is our last example.
  95. In our last example is going to be trail mix
  96. Instead of having to pick a pre made trail mix
  97. from the store, make your own.
  98. Choose your favorite for nuts.
  99. Maybe you like peanuts, cashews or walnuts for dried fruits.

  108. of different colors.
  109. Think of eating the rainbow.
  110. Ah, lot of the same colors are going to have
  111. the same nutrients or things that are good for us
  112. in our fruits and vegetables, for example.
  113. Ah, lot of our fruits and vegetables have vitamin C,
  114. but orange tend to be high and vitamin A while
  115. greens had had more iron.
  116. I hope you get a chance to make something that
  117. you saw today.
