  1. I had the Juno spacecraft.
  2. So Juno was launched august 5th 2011 and entered jupiter's orbit on july 4th 2016.
  3. It is an unmanned mission and was launched from Cape Canaveral Air Force station.
  4. In florida.
  5. Juno's goal is to uncover the history and jupiter's formation and evolution
  6. highlights and duration.
  7. It performed deep space maneuvers in August 2012 and performed
  8. an earth fly by with gravity assist on October 1,
  9. 2013.
  10. It's been in orbit for five years and its mission will
  11. continue through September 2025 or until the spacecraft's end of life.
  12. So what did it learn,
  13. Juno has studied jupiter's entire surface.
  14. It observes jupiter's gravity and magnetic fields,
  15. atmospheric dynamics and composition and evolution.
  16. It also discovered a dark spot of
  17. highly concentrated magnetism near the equator of jupiter
  18. issues.
  19. So do know was originally supposed to be in 14 day orbits but
  20. because of a concern about valves on the fuel system and Jupiter's gravity,
  21. it is now in 53 day orbits because of the longer orbit time,
  22. it takes longer to collect data.
  23. NASA extended its mission by 41 months so it can collect the necessary data.
  24. Fun facts.
  25. Juno only has about as much hard drive space as a laptop.
  26. Um It's the most distant solar powered spacecraft to
  27. date and at the end of its mission,
  28. Juno will perform a 5.5 day maneuver that
  29. will crash it into jupiter's atmosphere intentionally.
  30. And that's it
