00:00 - 00:03
Okay, so we're now on part seven or uh, what's
00:04 - 00:04
on the shelf?
00:05 - 00:11
So in the seventh cubby, we have pimp pamplona, Mystic
00:12 - 00:16
vale stone age quarry ear's and cash flow.
00:17 - 00:21
So pamplona was a game that I got in a
00:21 - 00:22
batch of games.
00:22 - 00:24
I had bought a large lot and got a couple
00:24 - 00:26
of games and this one was one of them.
00:27 - 00:28
The theme looked kind of interesting.
00:29 - 00:31
So it's a game based on the running of the
00:31 - 00:32
bull that they do in spain.
00:33 - 00:37
So each player has um, some bulls, and then each
00:37 - 00:40
player seems to control some of the runners as well.
00:40 - 00:43
So from what I understand the bulls, we're gonna go
00:43 - 00:45
through this this path.
00:46 - 00:49
And however many people they take down, I guess they'll
00:49 - 00:50
kind of score for that.
00:50 - 00:54
And I'm assuming the score also gets affected by if
00:55 - 00:56
one of your person gets taken down by a bull
00:57 - 00:59
or not, have never played this one.
01:00 - 01:02
It wasn't my collection when I've taken these pictures, but
01:02 - 01:05
it's since actually been donated to the Falcon Library.
01:06 - 01:08
So I'll have to try it at the next fall
01:08 - 01:12
khan. Uh the next game we have on that shelf
01:13 - 01:15
is mystic vale.
01:16 - 01:18
Mystic vale is such a great game.
01:19 - 01:22
So it's a deck builder, but you don't actually grow
01:22 - 01:23
your deck.
01:23 - 01:25
You start with 20 cards and you're going to end
01:25 - 01:26
with 20 cards.
01:27 - 01:29
But each of those cards comes in its own little
01:29 - 01:34
sleeves, and you can buy new section to add to
01:34 - 01:35
the cards.
01:35 - 01:39
So all of the cards, upgrades that you'd be purchasing
01:40 - 01:44
are on these clear plastic uh card that you would
01:44 - 01:45
add onto the sleeve.
01:45 - 01:48
So if on my one card, I have something along
01:48 - 01:50
the top, then I could upgrade the middle portion on
01:51 - 01:51
the bottom portion.
01:52 - 01:54
You can also have your card where they kind of
01:54 - 01:55
work along with each other.
01:55 - 01:59
Um This is also a push your luck game because
02:00 - 02:05
as you reveal your deck, um however many I can't
02:05 - 02:08
remember like coins or whatever that is exposed shows how
02:09 - 02:10
much you can purchase by.
02:11 - 02:15
Um But there will be some negative icons that will
02:15 - 02:16
show up as well.
02:16 - 02:19
And if you reveal a third one, you bust and
02:19 - 02:23
you don't actually get to um do anything with your
02:23 - 02:24
cards that round.
02:25 - 02:29
Very very neat, unique deck builder game.
02:29 - 02:31
And I really like it.
02:31 - 02:33
This is one that I'm kinda debating whether I should
02:33 - 02:33
get expansions.
02:34 - 02:37
I'm not huge on expansions and games, but this one
02:37 - 02:38
is tempting me.
02:38 - 02:40
Um Of course I could say like it has great
02:41 - 02:43
table presents and it does except that it's see through.
02:44 - 02:46
So you don't you don't get to see tons and
02:47 - 02:48
tons of it, but it's a really good game.
02:50 - 02:52
Next one I have is Stone Age.
02:52 - 02:54
So Stone Age is a worker placement game.
02:55 - 02:57
This is one of the older game.
02:57 - 03:03
Um I actually traded my copy of um Forbidden Desert
03:03 - 03:03
for this one.
03:04 - 03:08
So with this game um work replacement, this is the
03:08 - 03:10
first point where I saw like, you know, kind of
03:10 - 03:13
in the architect of the West Kingdom, you said you
03:13 - 03:16
can send 12 or three or more workers at each
03:17 - 03:18
location. So this one is like that.
03:18 - 03:20
So the more workers you send out the one location,
03:21 - 03:23
the more dice you'll get to roll.
03:24 - 03:28
Um and depending on where you are, what you would
03:28 - 03:29
require for dice.
03:29 - 03:33
So if you're going for gold, so I think it's
03:33 - 03:36
every six that you would need to get one gold.
03:36 - 03:38
So if you have three people there and you roll
03:39 - 03:42
a six, a five and a one then The totals
03:43 - 03:43
up to 12.
03:43 - 03:46
So you would actually get to gold for having done
03:46 - 03:49
that. Um if you're rolling for would maybe only need
03:50 - 03:51
and I can't remember if it's like two or three
03:51 - 03:53
but you would need a lot lower.
03:53 - 03:57
So you your role could manufacture more more goods.
03:58 - 04:01
Then with those resources you can purchase buildings that would
04:01 - 04:03
get added to your own player board.
04:04 - 04:06
Um You can send a worker to.
04:07 - 04:07
Uh huh.
04:08 - 04:10
You would send to to that hut and then the
04:10 - 04:12
third one comes out so you can kind of grow
04:12 - 04:14
your workforce that way.
04:15 - 04:18
Um And then you kind of score points as you
04:18 - 04:23
go. Um Human manufactured food um acquire different thing.
04:23 - 04:24
It's a very neat one.
04:24 - 04:29
And like this work replacement um Game it has it's
04:29 - 04:32
been very well received as well.
04:33 - 04:34
Um That's what the board looks like here.
04:34 - 04:36
I'll get a closer look on that one.
04:37 - 04:41
So um yeah so the areas that you see that
04:41 - 04:45
has like the small little circles, that's how many players
04:45 - 04:47
can be sent at that particular location.
04:48 - 04:51
So you can send multiple of your own or different
04:51 - 04:54
people can share that same space at the same time.
04:55 - 04:58
Um Then you get those little tiles along the bottom
04:58 - 05:02
there where you're going to be adding those to your
05:02 - 05:04
village I guess and then you have the cards that
05:05 - 05:08
requires different, you can purchase it with a different amount
05:08 - 05:12
of resources that you can do and then those will
05:12 - 05:14
give you some set collecting that you can score at
05:15 - 05:16
the end of the gate at the end of the
05:16 - 05:20
game if for artifact that you have um Or it
05:20 - 05:24
can also supplies different benefits as well.
05:24 - 05:26
And one thing that was needed is when you get
05:26 - 05:29
some of those cards um Some of them will kind
05:29 - 05:31
of give you benefit, but it can give the other
05:31 - 05:33
players a benefit as well.
05:33 - 05:37
Um And here's another picture of last time I played
05:38 - 05:42
uh Stone Age, and then the next one I have
05:42 - 05:45
on my shelf is quarry workers.
05:45 - 05:48
So I play quarters the first time that I really
05:48 - 05:51
like it, I'm a big fan of deck builders and
05:51 - 05:53
this one plays very similar except that you're not buying
05:54 - 05:56
cards to add to your deck, you're buying dice to
05:57 - 06:00
add to your bag each die.
06:00 - 06:03
So there's lots of different custom dice on those ones.
06:04 - 06:06
Um Each dice will give you different things, so either
06:06 - 06:10
it's a spell that allow you to affect the other
06:10 - 06:13
dice or maybe it's a device that has um creatures
06:14 - 06:15
or monsters that you can battle with.
06:16 - 06:19
Um And but each dice has different things on it.
06:20 - 06:22
So you're creature dice that you've been buying will have
06:22 - 06:24
maybe a couple of sites that were.
06:24 - 06:27
Yes that would be something that you can battle with.
06:27 - 06:30
A couple would give you you know, kind of so
06:31 - 06:33
much, but then maybe once more powerful than the others.
06:33 - 06:36
And then the rest of the dice could be uh
06:36 - 06:39
that it has like the purchasing um things on it.
06:39 - 06:41
So not only are you buying guys actually think, but
06:42 - 06:44
depending on your role, what you can do with it.
06:45 - 06:48
Um The way that this works is you would roll
06:49 - 06:53
of the dice, you utilize some of those um Guys
06:53 - 06:56
that has like a purchasing ability to activate your creature
06:56 - 06:58
dies, so you can add them to I guess your
06:58 - 06:59
arena will call it.
07:00 - 07:03
Um And then at the end of the game you
07:04 - 07:06
automatically battle all the the other players.
07:07 - 07:09
If they have any creatures in their arena.
07:09 - 07:12
Um When it comes back to your turn, if you
07:12 - 07:16
still have a creature in your in your arena, if
07:16 - 07:18
it hasn't been destroyed by the other players, uh then
07:18 - 07:22
you get to score uh for that creature and then
07:22 - 07:24
it gets kind of put aside when you run out
07:25 - 07:26
of dice in your bag, you collect all the back
07:27 - 07:29
and I said you've utilized and they all go back
07:30 - 07:31
into the bag and then of course you can also
07:32 - 07:33
purchase new dice as well.
07:34 - 07:37
Um I'll show you a closer picture of the dice
07:37 - 07:39
there, so they all look different, they all have different
07:40 - 07:42
color different, you know, some are like kind of more
07:42 - 07:42
see through somewhere.
07:43 - 07:47
Um It's a very neat one, I really enjoyed that
07:47 - 07:48
concept of it and then I was kind of one
07:48 - 07:51
that I hadn't really seen before, so I'm a big
07:52 - 07:52
fan of quarters.
07:53 - 07:56
Uh and then, yeah, that's, that was on the shelf
07:57 - 08:00
there, and then there's a lot more dice to then
08:00 - 08:00
you play each time.
08:01 - 08:03
So each game is going to change up a little
08:03 - 08:06
bit because you select, I think it's like you select
08:07 - 08:11
five creatures and four spells or something like that, each
08:12 - 08:12
game, right?
08:12 - 08:14
And then you have like the base dice that are
08:15 - 08:19
always showing okay, The next game I have on my
08:19 - 08:21
shelf is called cash flow.
08:22 - 08:24
Um the first one here, cash flow 101.
08:25 - 08:28
So I used to work for a trading company that
08:28 - 08:32
we trained people to become stocks and real estate investors.
08:33 - 08:36
Um and we would use the cash will game as
08:37 - 08:41
a tool, uh kinda implement a little bit of what
08:41 - 08:41
we were teaching.
08:42 - 08:45
Um So in this game, I'll show you here, the
08:45 - 08:48
first portion happens in the middle circle and that's called
08:48 - 08:52
the rat race where each player gets assigned a different
08:52 - 08:54
lifestyle. So maybe your mechanic.
08:54 - 08:56
So you don't make as much money as some, but
08:56 - 08:57
your expenses are fairly low.
08:58 - 09:01
Or if your lawyer or doctor, your, your income is
09:02 - 09:04
quite a bit higher, but you've got a lot of
09:04 - 09:08
expenses. Um, and you know, student loans and different things
09:08 - 09:09
like that as well.
09:10 - 09:12
You can get Children as you play the game.
09:13 - 09:15
And for some reason, some of the, you know, if
09:15 - 09:18
your doctor, your kids are going to cost you a
09:18 - 09:22
lot more every month than the mechanics kids, probably just
09:23 - 09:25
non private school or different things like that.
09:25 - 09:30
So you go around the inner circle and you'll land
09:31 - 09:34
on the green cards, which is opportunity and you select
09:34 - 09:37
whether you want to do a small opportunity or a
09:37 - 09:39
possibly a bigger opportunity and it could be real estate
09:40 - 09:42
business or stocks that you would do in there.
09:43 - 09:45
Um And then every time if you land on the
09:46 - 09:50
pink spaces, those are called doodads and you're buying some
09:50 - 09:52
things kind of like, oh well you bought a pool
09:52 - 09:55
for the backyard or you ended up doing this and
09:56 - 09:58
because those are, you know, things that in your life
09:58 - 09:59
we tend to do as well.
10:00 - 10:03
Um you can pass the, every time you pass the
10:04 - 10:07
payday thing, then you get to collect uh your payday
10:08 - 10:10
and depending on what you've been doing, what you've been
10:10 - 10:14
purchasing, if you've been taking loan, um you tally up
10:14 - 10:18
all the time, a spreadsheet, the balance sheet, that kind
10:18 - 10:21
of keeps track of how much income you're getting, how
10:21 - 10:23
much expensive, what's your net income.
10:23 - 10:26
So every time you pass the payday you get to
10:26 - 10:30
collect that net income that you can spend on more
10:30 - 10:33
doodads and more uh more opportunities and different things like
10:33 - 10:38
that. If your income ever becomes greater than your, well
10:38 - 10:41
not just your income if you're passive income so the
10:41 - 10:44
income from your investment ever becomes greater than your expenses,
10:45 - 10:49
then you've acquired financial freedom and you now go and
10:49 - 10:53
play in the outer circle um where you get access
10:54 - 10:55
to bigger, better things.
10:56 - 11:00
Um If you have not shown how to play this
11:00 - 11:02
game and you just kind of follow the rules based
11:02 - 11:05
on the rule book and you try to play this
11:05 - 11:06
game will take a long time.
11:06 - 11:09
It would be frustrating and it kind of would feel
11:09 - 11:10
maybe a little bit broken.
11:11 - 11:13
So that's why like they say 180 minutes to play
11:13 - 11:14
this game.
11:14 - 11:18
Um It's never taking me that long, but I could
11:19 - 11:20
see that if you don't know how to play the
11:20 - 11:25
game, it would, but if you start implementing trading strategies,
11:26 - 11:29
um the best deal in this game is to become
11:30 - 11:32
a private lender.
11:33 - 11:35
So sell some stocks, get a lot of money and
11:35 - 11:38
then you can buy some opportunities as well.
11:38 - 11:40
But then you can also lend out to the other
11:40 - 11:43
players on their opportunity because that still gives them access
11:44 - 11:45
to actually the cheapest loan in the game.
11:46 - 11:49
Um But then it uh it gives you a good
11:49 - 11:50
return on the investment.
11:50 - 11:54
So as an investor, this was a very interesting game
11:55 - 11:57
that kind of implemented and got you to kind of
11:57 - 12:00
think the way that we were teaching our students to
12:01 - 12:01
uh to think.
12:02 - 12:05
Um But yeah, so we used to have casual nights
12:06 - 12:11
GSM once at least once a month for five years
12:12 - 12:12
I think.
12:12 - 12:14
So I have played this game a lot and have
12:14 - 12:16
shown people how to play this game a lot.
12:17 - 12:19
Um, It's one that I very much enjoyed.
12:20 - 12:22
I used to have 13 copies of this kind of
12:22 - 12:26
have donated actually, a lot of those games to the
12:26 - 12:28
high school for their money sense program.
12:28 - 12:31
Um, so that they can utilize it as a tool
12:31 - 12:33
for their, for their students.
12:34 - 12:35
But yeah, so great game.
12:36 - 12:38
If you know how to play with other people, that's
12:38 - 12:40
kinda develop those.
12:41 - 12:45
But it's very neat and that's actually it for that
12:45 - 12:47
copy. So if you want to follow me on facebook,
12:47 - 12:50
my facebook page is did bury an area is far
12:51 - 12:54
as playing all the games or on instagram board game
12:54 - 12:55
underscore momma.
12:56 - 12:57
Thanks guys, have a great deal
