  1. Hello everyone today we're going to be talking about the
  2. controversy behind Kanye West and to start us all off
  3. we're going to learn some background information on Kanye He
  4. is an american producer and rapper Kanye West was born
  5. June 8 1977 in Atlanta Georgia and his interest in
  6. music began at a very young age and his mom
  7. was one of his biggest supporters, always motivating him to
  8. go after his dream.
  9. He would end up attending Chicago state University for a
  10. year and during that year he discovered that school wasn't
  11. something that he would be able to fully succeed in.
  12. So then he then made the decision to drop out
  13. to focus on his music career Which led him to
  14. move to New York in 2001.
  15. Yeah His first big break was when JC hired him
  16. to produce songs for his 2001 album The Blueprint and
  17. that was really what what marked his success as a
  18. producer and later on artists such as Beyonce and ludacris
  19. would end up choosing him to produce some of their
  20. music and once he did reach that level though he
  21. felt like it was time to focus more on his
  22. solo career.
  23. So he would then create a demo to send out
  24. to various different people that would maybe help develop his
  25. career And he ended up signing a record deal in
  26. 2002 with Rockefeller Records.
  27. Coming to fame was very easy for Kanye but his
  28. behavior, once he reached that fame was very hard for
  29. him to control.
  30. He became known as arrogant, dismissive and self absorbed in
  31. a really quick manner because his communication skills weren't developed
  32. the way a celebrity should have those communication skills.
  33. One of his biggest flaws is that he does depend
  34. a lot on social media, he doesn't, he refuses to
  35. interact with others, so he will run to social platforms
  36. to voice his opinions um which is a very negative
  37. factor because it prevents him from being able to develop
  38. his interpersonal skills and when tweeting, you don't really think
  39. how your tweets or how your words will affect other
  40. people. And here you can see some of the examples
  41. of the tweets that he has put out there over
  42. the years that have caused a lot of controversy and
  43. sometimes when you're on social media and you just quickly
  44. send a tweet and you don't think of it, um
  45. your words and what you're trying to say can become
  46. two very different things and it's easy for him to
  47. be misinterpreted.
  48. And one of the biggest factors that he would have
  49. to work on is knowing that going to social media
  50. is not the correct thing.
  51. And if he does choose to go to social media,
  52. my advice to him would be to think it out
  53. to fully consider who this tweet offend, Who will this
  54. tweet may copy all the results because as a celebrity
  55. you do have an influence on the public.
  56. So him becoming more self aware of his impact is
  57. one of the biggest areas of development that he needs
  58. to work on because if he knows these words are
  59. going to affect people, these words are going to affect
  60. my career, he would then be more conscience and he
  61. would then decide, okay, I feel this way, but let
  62. me not run to social media to express how I
  63. feel. Let me put together my thoughts and figure out
  64. better, more effective ways of communicating what he feels going
  65. hand in hand with that he his body language shows
  66. A lot of lack of control in speaking, he fidgets
  67. a lot and he tends to ramble on about topics.
  68. An example of that is he had a 2,016 appearance
  69. on the Ellen show and Ellen brought up the topic
  70. about him raising money to afford his projects that were
  71. coming up.
  72. He became very angry and frustrated and rambled on for
  73. about six minutes about how creative he is and basically
  74. just boosting up his ego instead of doing of becoming
  75. angry and choosing to attack the interviewer, he could have
  76. definitely chosen a good communicator, would have used that opportunity
  77. to appeal to the public and give a clear explanation
  78. as to why his creativity should be funded.
  79. But Kanye often becomes easily angry and yells, making it
  80. very clear that he has no self control over himself
  81. or his actions and to make up for that lack
  82. of control.
  83. He chooses arrogance to attempt to mask his poor communication.
  84. Um one of the biggest factors that would help him
  85. is him becoming self aware and him realizing his weaknesses
  86. and his strong suits because in in this character we
  87. see that he has a very conflicted personality where he
  88. feels confident in certain aspects and not so much confidence
  89. in others, but he doesn't know how to balance these
  90. two things, his weaknesses and his strengths.
  91. So another problem with Kanye and his communication is his
  92. impulsiveness. He, like I said before, it's about balance and
  93. Kanye has a very hard time balancing his emotions.
  94. He exudes a lot of confidence through his work because
  95. I said earlier he reached success as a producer and
  96. he reached success as a rapper.
  97. So of course it's a given that he would have
  98. that confidence through his work, but he does struggle to
  99. have the same confidence when communicating his thoughts.
  100. He himself has acknowledged how he often speaks without taking
  101. time to put his thoughts together.
  102. Um he once tweeted that his political views weren't expressed
  103. the way he desired it and he himself said that
  104. he needs to work on the way he says things,
  105. so he is aware that he often chooses to just
  106. say whatever is on his mind rather than thinking how
  107. is this going to affect me and how is this
  108. going to affect others?
  109. He has gotten himself into various controversies due to his
  110. impulsiveness. Um a lot of them being in the public
  111. eye and affecting his image overall.
  112. Kanye is a very creative individual and as stated earlier,
  113. he has confidence when it comes to his work, but
  114. he doesn't no how to transition from being confident in
  115. his music to being confident when communicating with others.
  116. And his main issues are just choosing social media rather
  117. than choosing his voice, setting up interviews or anything that
  118. will clearly show directly and strictly how he feels.
  119. Um he also has to control his body language.
  120. He has to find better ways to calm his nervousness
  121. when speaking in public because if he's showing he has
  122. no control over his body it makes people feel like
  123. well he's not confident in what he's saying, he's not
  124. confident in what he's talking about and his impulsiveness is
  125. one of the biggest factors that if you were to
  126. just stop and think what will my actions due to
  127. me, how will I be seen?
  128. He can become of a great communicator because Kanye isn't
  129. shy to say how he feels, he just doesn't know
  130. how to say his feelings in a way that won't
  131. offend or hurt other people.
  132. So if you were just to become more self aware
  133. and a little less selfish because Kanye just is about
  134. Kanye, but there are times where if you're in an
  135. interview you need to step back and you need to
  136. say let me conduct myself in an appropriate manner.
  137. So this is my presentation on how Kanye was, could
  138. further his communication skills, thank you for everything.
