  1. The five companies that I chose were Amazon, FedEx, Apple,
  2. Microsoft and Vivint Solar, which was eventually acquired by the
  3. company Sunrun, in the middle part of the semester.
  4. Start with Amazon, which is my retail company.
  5. Amazon started the semester on August 21st at $3284.72 and
  6. ended on November 16th at $3131.6.
  7. The return on investment for one share of Amazon was
  8. negative, 4.68% and the annualized return on investment was negative
  9. 18.10%. The total loss on investment was $153.66 I have
  10. for my transportation stock, which was FedEx.
  11. It started the semester on August 21st at $210.49 and
  12. ended on November 16th, $279.83.
  13. The return on investment was 32.49% and the annualized return
  14. on investment was 227.54%.
  15. The total gain on investment for FedEx was $69.34.
  16. Yeah, yeah, For consumer goods, I chose Apple and Apple
  17. started the semester on August 21st at 100 and $24.37.
  18. It closed on November 16th at $120.30.
  19. The return on investment was negative 3.27% and the annualized
  20. return on investment was negative, 12.95%.
  21. The total loss on investment was $4.7.
  22. Yeah, for technology I chose Microsoft and Microsoft started the
  23. semester $213.2 and ended at $217.23.
  24. The return on investment was 1.98%.
  25. The annualized return on investment was 8.5%.
  26. Total investment gain was $4.21.
  27. For energy, I chose Vivint solar and they started the
  28. semester at $26.44 and ended on October 8 $43.8.
  29. On October 8th, they were acquired by the company SUNRUN.
  30. The return on investment for Vivint solar, who was 62.93%
  31. and the annualized return on investment was 4174.44%.
  32. Total investment gain was $16.64.
  33. Sunrun, which I owned after the acquisition of Vivint Sewer.
  34. They started the semester at $71.43 on October 9th, and
  35. they ended the semester on November 16th at $55.53.
  36. The return on investment was negative 22.63%.
  37. The annualized return on investment was negative 91.94%.
  38. Total investment loss was $15.90 from August 21st to September
  39. 4th. The closing prices for every company except Apple increased
  40. from Sept eight to September 20.
  41. 1st, FedEx Vivid Sewer all increased in price, while Amazon,
  42. Apple and Microsoft decreased from September 22nd 2 October 12th.
  43. All five company stock prices closed higher.
  44. On October 9th visit, Solar was acquired by Sunrun, where
  45. 50.55 shares of Sunrun were exchanged for one share of
  46. Vivint solar from October 13th 2 October 26 FedEx was
  47. the only company to close higher at the end of
  48. this trading bloc from October 27th, 2 November ninth.
  49. Microsoft and Sun Run were the only two to increase
  50. in price.
  51. And lastly, from November 10th to the 16th, all five
  52. companies, stock prices closed higher.
  53. For the entire stock fund, the return on investment was
  54. negative 2.12% and the total loss was $83.44.
  55. To my surprise, Amazon was one of those stocks in
  56. my find that underperformed during the course of this semester.
  57. On August 21st, the closing price was $3284.72 and on
  58. November 16th it closed at $3131.6.
  59. During the middle of the semester, Amazon was up due
  60. to consumers starting to shop online for the holidays.
  61. However, one of the biggest factors for Amazon being down
  62. at the end of the semester can be attributed in
  63. large part to the cove in 19 vaccine.
  64. The promising vaccine news has resulted in investors looking for
  65. greater investment opportunities outside of the tech bubble in companies
  66. that could be reopening soon, such as the airline and
  67. entertainment industries.
  68. In the next year.
  69. I think Amazon stock price would be about 3800 to
  70. $4000. FedEx performed extremely well during the course of this
  71. semester, finishing with an R O of 32.94%.
  72. The main reason that FedEx has done so well can
  73. be attributed to the global pandemic.
  74. Due to health concerns and shutdowns, consumers have had to
  75. shop online, and FedEx is one of two major companies
  76. who carry out the majority of shipping across the country.
  77. In fact, FedEx is having to ship so many items
  78. that they have been experiencing a stress network shipping capacity.
  79. Furthermore, with the holiday season approaching, FedEx will only continue
  80. to ship more items as consumers are looking to ramp
  81. up their online shopping before Christmas in the next year.
  82. I think FedEx is stock Price will be about $330
  83. from the beginning of the semester.
  84. To the end, Apple gave me an investment loss of
  85. $4.7 which equates to an R oa of negative 3.27%.
  86. At times, Apple appeared to be very promising, especially whenever
  87. they unveiled or released a new product.
  88. For example, when Apple unveiled the iPhone 12, the stock
  89. price spiked over $14.
  90. However, the main reason that Apple did not perform well
  91. for me was essentially because right now Apple is a
  92. lame duck, so to speak.
  93. In other words, the stock is born because there is
  94. not a lot of excitement surrounding Apple.
  95. For instance, their last earnings report at the end of
  96. October did not have any contributions from the iPhone 12,
  97. which arguably would be the most important information for investors
  98. without knowing how successful the iPhone 12 really is.
  99. Investors have not been intrigued in Apple just yet.
  100. In the next year, I think Apple's stock price will
  101. be about $140.
  102. Microsoft went up $4.21 since the beginning of the semester.
  103. During the middle of the semester, Microsoft saw a major
  104. decrease in their stock price because they've lost out on
  105. acquiring the social media app ticktock, which would have been
  106. a tremendous opportunity for advertising and data collection.
  107. However, towards the end of semester, things turned around for
  108. Microsoft, in large part due to the releasing of their
  109. new gaming consoles, the Xbox, Siri's X and s.
  110. Interestingly, the new Xbox is in high demand but very
  111. low supply.
  112. Therefore, since very few people were able to purchase one,
  113. we can expect to see the demand remained high for
  114. the time being.
  115. As we approach Christmas, more people will be able to
  116. get their hands on the console without paying a ridiculous
  117. after market price, and Microsoft will generate a lot of
  118. revenue in the next year.
  119. I think Microsoft stock price will be around $250.
  120. Lastly, before being acquired by Sunrun, Vivint Solar had generated
  121. an incredible aura of 62.93%.
  122. The reason they were doing so well is because investors
  123. were starting to look into renewable energy like solar as
  124. a result of these struggling oil industry.
  125. In fact, many plea many people believed that the renewable
  126. markets brightest days were yet to come.
  127. Unfortunately, after Sun Run acquired Vivint Solar, which was an
  128. all stock transaction where 0.55 shares of Sunrun were exchanged
  129. for one share of Vivint solar, the terrorists on the
  130. solar industry increased 3% raising the total to 18%.
  131. To make matters worse, Sunrun was already a struggling company
  132. for quarter to their sales decline.
  133. Their operating loss grew wider than expected.
  134. Volumes dropped by a third and costs per watt rose
  135. 12%. Taking this all into account, there's no question why
  136. Sunrun Zara was a staggering negative 22.26% this semester in
  137. the next year.
  138. I think Sunrun stock price will be around $70 on
  139. Lee because the president elect is big on moving towards
  140. greener energy.
  141. Okay, and there's my work cited, Yeah.
