  1. y'all, It's time for another project.
  2. I did give you a fair warning last week.
  3. So don't be groaning as you're watching this.
  4. As I promised.
  5. In sync class, I did divide up the project into
  6. individual daily tasks.
  7. Toe help move you alone.
  8. I'm going to be going over that process, the minimum
  9. requirements, the objective things like that today.
  10. And then when you're done watching this video, you're going
  11. to start planning to prepare yourself for the next three
  12. days. Alright, To show your knowledge of rhetoric, the three
  13. pillars of rhetoric, the first thing you're going to do
  14. is imagine a project, a product that doesn't exist now.
  15. I said this last week, but I'm going to really
  16. iterated it.
  17. It needs to not exist because things that exist already
  18. have a persuasive impact to them.
  19. If the product has already gone into the world and
  20. there's some sort of perception from consumers, then, um, that
  21. affects the way that we can be persuasive.
  22. So it needs to be something completely from your own
  23. mind to be untainted by any of that.
  24. It doesn't have to be serious, though it can be
  25. serious. Don't feel pressure to be funny, but you can
  26. be funny.
  27. Do try to think creatively because this is a product
  28. of your imagination.
  29. Now the second step is simply brainstorming.
  30. So we're going to do these first two steps today
  31. in the planning sheet that you're going to download after
  32. you watch this video.
  33. What I want you to do with that is decide
  34. on what your imaginary product is, and then, um, decided
  35. angle for each ethos, pathos and logos and decide a
  36. backup angle in case that doesn't quite pan out the
  37. way you imagine it, too.
  38. I know that most people desperately hate planning ahead and
  39. doing rough drafts and stuff like that, and I get
  40. it. I was there.
  41. But I also know that projects have been stressing people
  42. out because of, well, really way, waiting to the last
  43. minute to do it but not being able to manage
  44. your time, so planning ahead will help you manage your
  45. time. The last step.
  46. Step three you'll be doing over the next three days.
  47. You will be doing ethos tomorrow, pay focus the next
  48. day and logos the next day.
  49. Whether you have sink or asynchronous, each of these will
  50. be turned in each day.
  51. So it doesn't compile at the end of the week
  52. to try to break up that that concept of a
  53. huge project.
  54. But since in reality they are three pieces toe.
  55. One project you are you are using the same product
  56. for each of these different flyers.
  57. That is the constant.
  58. The only thing that you're changing is the way that
  59. you are approaching your persuasion.
  60. Now remember that your objective is to explicitly apply each
  61. form of rhetoric.
  62. That means you're being really dramatic when we white.
  63. When we write persuasive essays, you're kind of blending all
  64. the different forms of rhetoric into your own unique style
  65. within your writing, voice and things like that.
  66. But since we're learning rhetoric ahead of time, we're going
  67. to be really dramatic with it, so we know how
  68. far we can push it.
  69. You may notice that inthe e rubric for these assignments
  70. being explicit in this form of rhetoric is a requirement.
  71. So basically, just be really obvious Now, also in the
  72. rubric, you'll notice the minimum requirements are their own category.
  73. This is how it's always been for projects in this
  74. class. The reason why I do.
  75. This is to make you focus on what's important and
  76. not just focus on check boxes of what you need
  77. to dio the three minimum requirements for this assignment, or
  78. to use language to use imagery and to use one
  79. full page.
  80. Now, Page might look different to the different.
  81. It might look different in however you execute this actual
  82. product, but I'm asking you to just keep it in
  83. one cohesive place.
  84. Now again, their minimum requirements.
  85. This is the bare minimum.
  86. If you complete this, you check off one of those
  87. categories on the rubric.
  88. Read the rubric.
  89. Now you have free range on how you want to
  90. execute creating these fires.
  91. You could do it by hand.
  92. You can do it on Microsoft Word or Microsoft PowerPoint,
  93. um, or pages or what are they called in Apple's?
  94. I don't even know I have a Mac, and I
  95. maybe know whatever any of those Softwares or you can
  96. use photo editing Softwares.
  97. I posted a Link Thio tutorial.
  98. If you want to use can va Um, you can
  99. use Photoshop if you know how to use Photoshop.
  100. You can even use like Snapchat editing.
  101. Honestly, whatever you're comfortable with flow with that or whatever
  102. you're interested in, um, exploring flow with that.
  103. All right, So you know what's ahead?
  104. Focus on that planning today.
  105. That brains for me.
  106. Go download that file.
  107. Um, start typing in it, thinking about what you want
  108. to dio coming up with backup plans, and tomorrow you'll
  109. be ready.
