  2. My name's Desmond Darcy in on one of the teaching
  3. and learning specialist here at South as it's college.
  4. I currently teach on the Level three deployment business studies on
  5. one of the tried and tested strategies that I use.

  8. Assessment could be using a multitude of different
  9. ways from both academic and practical skills.
  10. But some of the key things that we actually
  11. building our learners where we are introduced peer assessment techniques
  12. is that of critical thinking,
  13. helping learners to actually start to judge
  14. analyse particular elements of their own work,
  15. but also their peers work as well.
  16. This can work very well, not just in building that academic confidence,
  17. but also building those employability skills as well that
  18. we strive to help our learners to actually achieve
  19. in their time of this. Here it surfaces college.
  20. One of the tried and tested methods that I
  21. use working towards control assessment or working towards exams
  22. is that getting learners to actually create
  23. a graphic organiser or aspired to diagram
  24. that's leading them to identify all of the
  25. technical terms and technical language of a particular topic
  26. so It can then be peer assessed by their colleagues in the class
  27. to identify the correct spelling in the
  28. correct terminology used in the correct context.
  29. This works very well and helps them to prepare and get ready for, as I said,
  30. they're control assessments
  31. on DS for their exams as well.
