  1. Hi. This is Crystal Bryce with the limited Entry programs
  2. office, and this video is to help you prepare your
  3. application for the fall 2021 associate degree nursing program.
  4. So I want to talk about how to prepare the
  5. application, how to submit it, and then what to expect
  6. afterwards. So let's jump right on in.
  7. Let's talk about repairing the application.
  8. So as you notice them the online information session, there
  9. are several things that you need to have put together
  10. before turning your application in.
  11. So I want to talk about each of those things
  12. in detail and then talk about how to get those
  13. things put together.
  14. So when you do submit it, it's complete and we
  15. can get it moved on to the selection committee.
  16. The first document is the program application itself.
  17. This is the last page of the admission packet.
  18. If you need a copy, it is located in the
  19. online information session for you.
  20. I wanna do a quick run through of the application,
  21. hit a few highlights, and then we can move forward.
  22. One of the first things that I want to mention
  23. is the GCC, C.
  24. I. D.
  25. Number you need to have this on the application.
  26. If you're not sure what it is, please do not
  27. substituted with your Social Security number.
  28. We want to make sure that private and secure information
  29. stays that way.
  30. So you're not sure how to access your I D
  31. number. There's a few ways that you can do it.
  32. Um, the first is, if you recently apply it to
  33. GTC, see if you go back to the acceptance email
  34. that you got from admissions.
  35. Somewhere in the email, you'll see the I D.
  36. Number there.
  37. Another way to get it is if you look around
  38. about Page three of the program application packet, you'll see
  39. some helpful links.
  40. One of them is application status dot g T c
  41. c dot e D u.
  42. You can click on that.
  43. Put your information in, and it will give you an
  44. overview of your general admission file.
  45. And if you scroll down about Midway, you'll see your
  46. I d.
  47. Number there.
  48. Lastly, when you pull up your unofficial transcript and Web
  49. advisor and I'll talk about how to do that in
  50. a little bit.
  51. But once you do pull it up, you'll see your
  52. I D number right beside your name.
  53. So either one of those methods can help you find
  54. it, and then you need to put it on your
  55. application. The next thing you want to be sure that
  56. you include is your G TCC email address.
  57. Please put that on your application.
  58. Make sure that it is accurate, because this is gonna
  59. be the method of communication.
  60. From this point forward, all correspondence, including your application results,
  61. will go to your G TCC email.
  62. We'll check behind you when we get the application, but
  63. we want to make sure that your file is accurate.
  64. So please be sure to put your accurate email address
  65. on there.
  66. Next, you'll see a question that I asked you if
  67. you've been previously accepted and enrolled into the associate degree
  68. nursing program.
  69. So if you've applied to G.
  70. T. C.
  71. C s program, you've been accepted and you registered for
  72. nursing 1 11 and whether you withdrew or if you
  73. were unsuccessful in completing the course or or if you
  74. got further along in the program, but you're having to
  75. apply for readmission to the program, then you're going to
  76. check the Xbox.
  77. All other applicants will check.
  78. No, next up is gonna be the application checklist.
  79. You're gonna want to make sure that you read through
  80. each of those items carefully before you start checking the
  81. boxes. Because once you check them, you are verifying that
  82. you have completed those specified actions and met those requirements.
  83. So before you check the box, just make sure that
  84. you look at it.
  85. The majority of the checklist will apply to you, but
  86. you don't need to check it if you haven't completed
  87. that action.
  88. Lastly, you'll need to sign and date.
  89. Um, you can print this document handwrite everything in and
  90. sign it, or you're welcome to type your information.
  91. And this is a syllable pdf document so you can
  92. type your information and then, based on the version of
  93. Adobe that you have, it will either have you create
  94. a signature that you actually write in and then paste
  95. there. Or it may ask you to create a digital
  96. signature that you'll put, and it will print your name
  97. and do a day in time stamp.
  98. Either way, it's perfectly fine.
  99. Uh, if your version of Adobe doesn't allow you to
  100. do in Elektronik signature or type your name in or
  101. anything like that in that area, you may have to
  102. print it and then handwrite your signature.
  103. Um, if you do type your information in once you're
  104. done, I recommend clicking save as instead of saved and
  105. then save it as your name.
  106. Or if you want to title it another way, you
  107. can then close out the document completely and then open
  108. it up again to make sure that everything you put
  109. there, including your signature, is still there.
  110. We've had applications coming in the past, and when we
  111. open it up, the documents completely blank, and we've had
  112. to return it.
  113. So this is a good way to make sure that
  114. all of your information is saved.
  115. And then next, we're going to talk about your in
  116. a one registry listing.
  117. So to get this, you'll need to go on the
  118. North Carolina nurse said Registry website.
  119. You can google it, or, if you know the website,
  120. you can go straight there.
  121. Follow the link for verifying your listening, and then once
  122. you put your information and you will get a verification
  123. page that looks like this seems very simple, but that's
  124. all we need.
  125. It shows your registry listening, the date that was issued
  126. and then the date that it expires.
  127. And it must be current when you submit your application.
  128. And so this is what you'll turn in for your
  129. application. You can either print it or you could do
  130. a screen print and do it that way.
  131. Next up is the Web Advisor transcript that I mentioned.
  132. So whether you completed your classes here or you transferred
  133. your classes from another college or university, you have an
  134. unofficial GTC C transcript in a Web advisor.
  135. So to get there, you could go from the GTC.
  136. See home page at the very top right hand corner,
  137. you'll see a green menu button.
  138. When you click on that, it's going to give you
  139. this drop down menu of resource is and you'll see
  140. Web Advisor there.
  141. Also, when you log into model, you'll see different tools,
  142. and our resource is at the very top.
  143. One of those icons will be for Web advisor, so
  144. you can get to it that way.
  145. Once you're there, look under the academic profile section and
  146. you'll see a link.
  147. This is unofficial transcript view.
  148. You'll want to click that link, and then it's gonna
  149. ask you to select the transcript type.
  150. You need to select one of the options that has
  151. curriculum as part of the options.
  152. So you may see one that says, Just curriculum transcript,
  153. And there will be one that says curriculum or combination
  154. of curriculum.
  155. And either one of those options will get you what
  156. you need.
  157. When she clicked, the submit button is gonna pop up
  158. your unofficial transcript, and it'll look a little something like
  159. this. Um, again, depending on your browser, your computer, it
  160. may come up.
  161. That's a lot of different format, but this is what's
  162. going to show up all of the classes you've taken
  163. and all of the classes that have transferred.
  164. For those of you that have transferred classes, you're going
  165. to see the letter T in front of the grade.
  166. So if you transferred English 1 11 within a, you'll
  167. see T A or T B T.
  168. C. So on and so forth.
  169. And so you want to make sure that you look
  170. through these list of classes to make sure everything is
  171. accounted for, because this is what this election committee is
  172. gonna use when they review your application and issue ranking
  173. points. So if it's not reflected on this transcript, then
  174. you won't receive the points for it.
  175. So if you see anything that's missing, contacted missions or
  176. the transcripts office as soon as possible so they can
  177. help get everything resolved and get your transcript where it
  178. needs to be, and then you'll make the print print
  179. off of it to attach your application at that time
  180. again, it's, um, Horton that you look at this very
  181. carefully because we don't want you to miss out getting
  182. ranking points for something that's not there.
  183. We wanna make you have time to get those things
  184. resolved. Next up is your a T.
  185. I. T.
  186. Score. And, as you all know, what the fall 2021
  187. admission cycle the minimum score has increased to 66 so
  188. you need to have a total score of 66.0 or
  189. higher. We won't be able to round up a score
  190. of 65.7.
  191. 65.5 has to be that 66 score.
  192. So when you do take the exam, um, if you
  193. take it at our assessment center, if you take it
  194. at another assessment center, your results may look something like
  195. this. We're gonna be looking at that total score to
  196. make sure that that is the 66.
  197. Um, if you take it at another testing site or
  198. if you pull up your results through your a.
  199. T. I account your format may look a little something
  200. like this, which is fine.
  201. And we're gonna be looking again at the individual score.
  202. And as long as it is the A.
  203. T. I.
  204. T. S version of the exam, then it's acceptable.
  205. And of course, it has to meet that 66.
  206. Your format may look a little different.
  207. Your results may look slightly different from this, but these
  208. are the two that we see most commonly come through
  209. with applications.
  210. But again, it must be a t.
  211. I. T.
  212. S. And it must be the 66 or higher.
  213. Also, if you take your exam at another testing facility,
  214. you do not need to have an official copy of
  215. your court scores sent to G TCC because a copy
  216. has to be attached to the application so you don't
  217. have to pay to have an official copy sent here
  218. because we won't need it individually.
  219. We actually need it on that application submission and the
  220. next stop.
  221. I want to talk a little bit about the other
  222. ranking criteria, because this process is a little different.
  223. If you've applied before within the past year, then this
  224. process will be slightly different.
  225. So if you go back to the program application and
  226. you look at that checklist, very last section of the
  227. checklist will say documentation or other ranking criteria.
  228. So if you intend to receive ranking points for the
  229. highest level of education that you've accomplished, then you will
  230. need to make sure that that official transcript is on
  231. file and admissions.
  232. So you will no longer attach Ah, copy of your
  233. diploma or anything like that.
  234. We're not going to accept that for the application that
  235. official transcript needs to be on filing admissions.
  236. What you will do is on the application.
  237. You'll write down the name of the school that you
  238. attended the credential that was awarded, so if it was
  239. a Roma, if it was an associate degree, a bachelor's,
  240. you'll put that and then you put the year that
  241. you were award the degree.
  242. That way we know what transcript toe look at so
  243. that we can verify on your admission file to award
  244. the point.
  245. So again, you don't attach anything to the application.
  246. It needs to be an admission.
  247. If you want to pay for the health related certifications
  248. or licenses, then you need to make sure that those
  249. documents are attached to the application and that your notated
  250. on that checklist what certifications you are attaching so we
  251. can know when we're reviewing the application.
  252. You know what exactly we're looking for.
  253. And again, you can get points for up to two
  254. certifications or two licenses.
  255. They must be current.
  256. They cannot be expired, and it cannot be.
  257. You're in a one, and it cannot be your CPR.
  258. So again, the education ranking points.
  259. Those documents must be on falling admissions for your licenses
  260. and your certifications.
  261. Those must be attached to the application.
  262. So I'm repeating that because it's very important.
  263. But you will understand the new process.
  264. So that way you know how to ensure that you
  265. will be awarded points for those areas.
  266. If maybe so.
  267. We've talked about all of those things, and now it's
  268. time to talk about submitting the application.
  269. This is also another update to our process.
  270. We now have a window to apply, So if you
  271. look at this carefully, you'll see that we will start
  272. accepting applications January 25th through the application deadline of February
  273. 12. If you're watching this and it's not January 25th,
  274. hold onto that application.
  275. Don't do anything with it just yet.
  276. You need to wait until the window to apply.
  277. Opens. You'll also see these dates reflected on the application.
  278. So when you're filling it out at the very top,
  279. you'll see the dates that were accepting applications.
  280. So it's important that you follow that applications received before
  281. or after that window to apply will not be accepted.
  282. They will not be reviewed.
  283. Eso It's very important that you follow that you can
  284. submit your applications in person to our office on the
  285. Jamestown campus, where in hassle health technologies room 1 40.
  286. If we're not here, we do have a secure lot
  287. box. You believe your application there.
  288. We will send a confirmation to your G TCC email
  289. that we've received it.
  290. You can also email your application to limited entry at
  291. g T c c dot e d u.
  292. You can.
  293. When you're emailing your application, you can send scan copies
  294. of your documents.
  295. You can update upload screen prints of them.
  296. You can also take pictures of the documents and then
  297. upload them.
  298. Just make sure that those documents are clear.
  299. Their ledge a ble, they're not too dark, and then
  300. just submit them all together.
  301. And then in the subject line of your email, just
  302. put something like, you know, fall nursing application or something
  303. to where we know that this is your official applications
  304. admission. We will check to make sure all documents are
  305. there, and then we will send you a confirmation email
  306. to your DTCC email that we received it.
  307. If you leave it in the drop box or you
  308. email it and there are items that are missing or
  309. things that we need you to resubmit because they're not
  310. clear, we will notify you.
  311. And then we'll ask you to resubmit all of your
  312. documents together again because we don't want to take your
  313. application and pieces.
  314. We need to have everything together so we can send
  315. one complete application to the selection committee.
  316. We ask that you do not Please, Please, please do
  317. not mail your applications in simply because things that airmail
  318. do not come directly to us right away.
  319. There's several channels and processes that things have to go
  320. through before they're delivered to individual offices.
  321. So you run the risk of us getting your application
  322. after the deadline.
  323. So even if it's postmarked in advance and we get
  324. in after February 12th, we will not be able to
  325. accept it.
  326. If you mail it in early and we get it
  327. before January 25th, we will not be able to accept
  328. it. So it's very important that you either bring it
  329. in or that you email it.
  330. If you are, you know, a generous ways away and
  331. or you're not comfortable coming on campus, which is perfectly
  332. OK. Give us a call or send us the email.
  333. We can guide you through the process off emailing your
  334. application. If you do need assistance, we're more than happy
  335. to help you with that.
  336. If you do want to bring your application and again,
  337. we are in hassle Health technologies Room 1 40 and
  338. we have office hours.
  339. We are open to visitors but we do have a
  340. new revised schedule, so if you take a look at
  341. this very carefully, this is also posted in the information
  342. session. But we're open on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
  343. Tuesdays and Thursdays were open nine AM to five PM
  344. We do close for a one hour lunch break.
  345. Usually around known if we can, we will post the
  346. return time on the door.
  347. So if you come by, we're not here and you
  348. see the time that we're going to come back and
  349. you know you're able to stick around.
  350. You're more than welcome to will be glad to help
  351. you. Then on Wednesdays we're open 1 to 5.
  352. We're also going to be open on February 12 so
  353. that Friday of the application deadline, we will be open
  354. nine AM to five PM If you want to bring
  355. your application and then that's perfectly all right, you can
  356. contact us via phone or via email all throughout the
  357. week. So if you do have questions and again, if
  358. you don't feel comfortable coming to campus or you're quite
  359. a ways away and it's just more convenient for you
  360. to call or email, please feel free to do that
  361. Monday through Friday.
  362. We just ask that if you leave us a voice
  363. message, are you sending email?
  364. Give us at least 1 to 2 business days to
  365. reply back.
  366. We're going to try to get to you same day.
  367. But just depending on how things were going, it may
  368. take us a little while to get to you.
  369. So we just ask for your patients there.
  370. But that's pretty much it.
  371. Take your G TCC email.
  372. Um, after the deadline, within four weeks, you will get
  373. your application results and they're going to go to your
  374. G TCC email.
  375. Don't wait the four weeks check within that four week
  376. window. So that way you don't miss the communication.
  377. When it does come in, it's going to give you
  378. your final results and what to expect on what to
  379. do. Moving forward and that's it.
  380. I hope that this has been really helpful, for you
  381. were excited that you chose G TCC, and we look
  382. forward to receiving your application submission soon
