00:00 - 00:01
Yeah. Yes.
00:02 - 00:05
Hi everyone today I'm going to go over our health
00:05 - 00:11
insurance options or June 2021 to May of 2022.
00:14 - 00:16
So I just wanted to briefly go over some of
00:17 - 00:20
the different vocabulary terms for health insurance.
00:21 - 00:24
So when you're looking at our health insurance plans, a
00:24 - 00:28
deductible is the amount of money that you would pay
00:28 - 00:30
before the insurance kicks in.
00:32 - 00:35
A co payment is pretty standard.
00:35 - 00:37
It's probably what you're used to paying.
00:37 - 00:41
Any time you go to a primary care physician, urgent
00:41 - 00:43
care, anything along those lines.
00:43 - 00:48
It's another predetermined amount um that you'll see on the
00:48 - 00:51
insurance option or coinsurance.
00:52 - 00:56
That is the amount, it's a percentage paid by Humana,
00:57 - 01:00
our insurance carrier and the percentage that's paid by you
01:01 - 01:04
after the deductible is met To save.
01:04 - 01:08
Your deductible is $2,000 and you've already paid out $2,000
01:09 - 01:10
throughout the plan year.
01:11 - 01:13
Then your coinsurance would kick in.
01:13 - 01:18
So say if your bill Is $100 In, your coinsurance
01:18 - 01:21
is a 5050 split, you would pay $50.
01:22 - 01:24
The insurance carrier would pay $50.
01:26 - 01:30
Say is you are close to reaching your annual max
01:31 - 01:36
out of pocket and um your very close to that
01:36 - 01:40
uh that number then you would only have to ever
01:41 - 01:46
pay your as close as you reach to your annual
01:47 - 01:47
max out of pocket.
01:51 - 01:51
This is a general reminder.
01:52 - 01:55
Once you select any of the insurance options, you can't
01:56 - 02:01
make any alterations until our next open enrollment unless there's
02:01 - 02:04
a qualifying life event such as a marriage divorce, birth
02:05 - 02:05
of a child.
02:06 - 02:10
Um or you lose your current health insurance plans if
02:10 - 02:15
you have a different carrier, The only exception to that
02:16 - 02:17
rule is our 41K.
02:17 - 02:21
Plan. You can make any changes before the beginning of
02:22 - 02:24
each quarter of those plans.
02:29 - 02:32
We are going with Humana again this year.
02:32 - 02:34
So there are four different insurance plans that you can
02:34 - 02:35
pick from.
02:36 - 02:39
So our first plan is $124 each paycheck.
02:41 - 02:44
And I just briefly wanted to go over um what
02:45 - 02:46
these plans look like.
02:46 - 02:52
So for This plan, option 14 It's a $0 deductible.
02:53 - 02:55
The annual max out of pocket is $6,500.
02:57 - 02:59
So this is the most amount of money that you
02:59 - 03:02
would ever have to pay um under this plan.
03:03 - 03:07
So if you're Bill is $7,000, you would only ever
03:07 - 03:08
have to pay 6500.
03:11 - 03:16
Um If you go to a different doctors offices, these
03:16 - 03:17
are your different copays.
03:18 - 03:23
Uh Tell medicine is a great option if you just
03:23 - 03:26
want to quickly get a prescription for something and you
03:26 - 03:29
don't feel like waiting in line at the doctors and
03:29 - 03:32
you have a general idea of what's wrong, like a
03:33 - 03:35
common cold or flu for example and you need some
03:36 - 03:40
antibiotics. You can do telemedicine with this plan.
03:40 - 03:43
Uh The emergency room Co pay is a little bit
03:43 - 03:47
expensive. Um A general rule of thumb is to try
03:47 - 03:50
to go to urgent care before you go to the
03:50 - 03:50
emergency room.
03:51 - 03:54
Um A couple of urgent cares can do x rays.
03:55 - 03:58
They can you know, check out if you have a
03:58 - 04:01
fracture, anything along those lines.
04:01 - 04:05
So urgent care is typically a good go to if
04:06 - 04:09
you know that the emergency room might be too costly.
04:13 - 04:16
Our next plan is our most expensive plan, it's $127
04:18 - 04:18
each paycheck.
04:19 - 04:23
Um and for this plan it's a $2,000 deductible.
04:25 - 04:29
The co insurance is 50 in the annual max out
04:29 - 04:30
of pocket is 5000.
04:32 - 04:34
Um So what I was explaining earlier with co insurance
04:35 - 04:41
to say you've already met your deductible and your bill
04:41 - 04:46
is $100 You would pay 50 and the insurance carrier
04:47 - 04:51
would pay 50%,, but if you're close to hitting your
04:51 - 04:56
annual max out of pocket um then you would only
04:56 - 04:59
have to pay up until that annual max out of
04:59 - 05:04
pocket Once you pay more than $5,000 in one calendar
05:05 - 05:07
year, the insurance carrier will cover the remainder.
05:09 - 05:12
These copays are a little bit better than our first
05:12 - 05:16
plan, but on this plan you would not know how
05:16 - 05:19
much you could be paying towards the hospital visit, It
05:19 - 05:23
would be your deductible, the $2,000 Plus 50 of the
05:24 - 05:29
bill. So if the bill is you know $3,000 you
05:29 - 05:36
would pay um 2000 Plus half of that, so it
05:36 - 05:39
would be 2500 For the remaining $1,000 bill.
05:43 - 05:46
Our third plan is, in my opinion, probably our best
05:46 - 05:47
plan option that we have.
05:48 - 05:50
It's $113 each paycheck.
05:50 - 05:54
Um for this plan the deductible is a little bit
05:54 - 05:55
more. It's $3,000.
05:56 - 06:02
Uh still a 50 coinsurance In a 6000 annual max
06:02 - 06:02
out of pocket.
06:03 - 06:07
But with this plan, the physician services are the co
06:07 - 06:12
pays are relatively um Cost effective in the emergency room
06:13 - 06:16
copay. Uh it's the lowest option that we have.
06:16 - 06:18
It's $350 if you have to go to the emergency
06:19 - 06:26
room. The only um new option on this plan is
06:26 - 06:30
the fact that any prescription drugs we'll have a deductible
06:31 - 06:34
um that you have to meet before the prescription levels
06:35 - 06:36
kick in.
06:38 - 06:41
So if you have to have a lot of different
06:41 - 06:46
prescriptions. One great option that you could look into first
06:46 - 06:49
is the app called Good Rx.
06:50 - 06:51
That app.
06:52 - 06:52
We're sorry.
06:53 - 06:55
It's a website that you can go to and you
06:55 - 06:58
can search the name of your prescription and it will
06:58 - 07:02
tell you the lowest cost prescription and where it's available.
07:03 - 07:07
So it will tell you um maybe Walgreens is a
07:08 - 07:12
better price to go to compared to public anything along
07:12 - 07:12
those lines.
07:14 - 07:19
And then our fourth insurance option with Humana is uh
07:19 - 07:20
$71 a paycheck.
07:21 - 07:22
It's our high deductible plan.
07:23 - 07:26
So basically with this plan, the deductibles $4,000.
07:27 - 07:29
But you would not have any copays.
07:30 - 07:33
So anytime you have a bill, say if you go
07:33 - 07:39
to urgent care and your bill is Um $150 in
07:39 - 07:45
total, You would be paying all 100 50 if if
07:45 - 07:48
you haven't met your calendar, your deductible yet.
07:52 - 07:55
And with this plan because it's a high deductible plan,
07:56 - 07:58
it also allows you to have an Hs.
07:59 - 07:59
A. H.
08:00 - 08:00
S. A.
08:00 - 08:02
Stands for health savings account.
08:03 - 08:08
It allows you to um put aside money into a
08:08 - 08:14
savings account each paycheck, which um is, there's no tax
08:15 - 08:16
on the money that you put into an H.
08:17 - 08:17
S. A.
08:18 - 08:21
So basically you get a debit card if you decide
08:21 - 08:25
to enroll in this, which is very helpful because if
08:26 - 08:30
you do go to a chiropractor for example, you can
08:31 - 08:33
use that debit card to pay for your chiropractic visit.
08:35 - 08:40
So I had this plan three years ago and I
08:41 - 08:42
I didn't fully utilize my H.
08:43 - 08:43
S. A.
08:43 - 08:47
I only put $10 in each paycheck but it was
08:47 - 08:52
still helpful um because I had I went to the
08:52 - 08:54
chiropractor frequently and I was able to pay my chiropractor
08:55 - 08:57
bills with that debit card.
09:02 - 09:02
Uh huh.
09:03 - 09:05
If you sign up for any of the Humana options,
09:06 - 09:07
there are two different humanity apps.
09:08 - 09:10
The first app is called My Humana.
09:11 - 09:15
And basically my Humana is an app that will allow
09:15 - 09:18
you to view your health insurance cards.
09:19 - 09:22
It will show you how much money you put towards
09:23 - 09:26
your deductible, it will tell you how much money you
09:26 - 09:29
have left until you reach your annual max out of
09:29 - 09:32
pocket. Um So it's just an information tool.
09:33 - 09:36
The second Humana app is called Go 3 65.
09:38 - 09:41
This app I took a video of my my app
09:42 - 09:46
um mm Sorry about that.
09:47 - 09:52
Um Hopefully it will let me click on this.
09:57 - 09:59
Sorry for some reason it's not playing the video.
09:59 - 10:02
Um But basically um Mhm.
10:03 - 10:07
This app allows you to earn points for different fitness
10:08 - 10:09
activities that you do.
10:10 - 10:14
So you can earn points by doing things such as
10:15 - 10:20
walking, uh going to the gym, doing a dental exam,
10:21 - 10:24
a vision exam, um Taking weekly weekly quizzes.
10:26 - 10:28
Anything along those lines will earn you points.
10:29 - 10:33
Um You can log into this video to see what
10:33 - 10:35
my app looks like and hopefully I will let you
10:35 - 10:36
play the video that I took.
10:37 - 10:42
But um basically if you wear a smart watch it
10:43 - 10:45
will track how many steps you take during the day
10:46 - 10:48
and you can earn points just from walking.
10:50 - 10:54
Um You can get gift cards for your points and
10:54 - 10:57
then once you reach 5000 points, your health insurance costs
10:58 - 10:58
will lower.
10:58 - 11:00
Which is very exciting.
11:01 - 11:05
Um And then in this picture um this is a
11:08 - 11:11
a group event that I was showing how you can
11:11 - 11:11
sign up for.
11:12 - 11:16
Um So it's called the May mary mary month.
11:17 - 11:21
Um And you can earn points from competing in teams
11:21 - 11:26
on getting the most steps in throughout the day with
11:28 - 11:29
any of the Humana plans.
11:29 - 11:31
It comes with an E.
11:31 - 11:31
A. P.
11:32 - 11:33
An employee assistant program.
11:34 - 11:38
This program is great um because it is completely anonymous,
11:39 - 11:44
it's um something that you can call into or you
11:45 - 11:48
can log into the Humana website and it could help
11:48 - 11:51
you with any of these following day to day issues
11:51 - 11:53
that you might be having in your life.
11:54 - 11:56
Um And as I mentioned, it is anonymous.
11:56 - 12:01
So um as the employer we would have no idea
12:02 - 12:06
to know who is um if anyone using this program.
12:10 - 12:10
Uh huh.
12:11 - 12:15
Um Now our next insurance option that we have available
12:16 - 12:17
is our limited health insurance.
12:18 - 12:22
In the past we've used a company called Redirect Health,
12:23 - 12:27
but unfortunately redirect health is too costly for us to
12:27 - 12:32
continue. Um That plan, the plan costs basically doubled um
12:32 - 12:32
this year.
12:33 - 12:36
So we found a different insurance carrier called apex.
12:37 - 12:40
If you aren't familiar with limited health insurance, please come
12:40 - 12:43
to me with any questions because I was signed up
12:43 - 12:44
for this plan last year.
12:45 - 12:48
Um and I think this is a great plan option.
12:49 - 12:52
Um The only people that this plan might not be
12:52 - 12:56
good for is if you know you're prone to accidents
12:57 - 13:01
and you might, you know have frequent hospital stays.
13:02 - 13:05
Um If you have any chronic diseases or if you
13:05 - 13:11
need any specialty types of drugs um for hospital stays,
13:11 - 13:15
one of our plans does slightly reimburse for hospital stays,
13:16 - 13:16
so I'll go over that momentarily.
13:18 - 13:21
But this plan is great if you need any regular,
13:22 - 13:23
everyday health care.
13:24 - 13:27
So if you want your primary care visits, urgent care
13:28 - 13:31
um and preventative care.
13:31 - 13:34
So this plan, if that is typically what you use
13:34 - 13:35
your health insurance for.
13:36 - 13:38
These plan options might be great for you.
13:40 - 13:43
Um So we have three different plans that we're offering
13:44 - 13:44
through apex.
13:45 - 13:48
I apologize in advance because my screen is going to
13:48 - 13:52
be very small but um you'll be able to see
13:53 - 13:58
this in greater detail in our insurance packet.
13:59 - 14:00
So we have three different plans.
14:01 - 14:02
Please ignore the 1st 1.
14:03 - 14:08
so our first plan is $19 a paycheck, Then $30
14:08 - 14:10
a paycheck and $53 a paycheck.
14:11 - 14:17
All three of these plans 100 cover any preventative care
14:17 - 14:18
that you might need throughout the year.
14:20 - 14:21
Um tele medicine.
14:22 - 14:25
This is a big one um With humana you do
14:25 - 14:29
have to pay for your telemedicine visit but with these
14:29 - 14:33
plans there is no copay and you can um log
14:34 - 14:38
into the telemedicine um as many times throughout the calendar
14:39 - 14:40
year as you need to.
14:41 - 14:44
If you are not familiar with telemedicine, it's a great
14:45 - 14:48
alternative compared to going and sitting in a weight room
14:49 - 14:50
at a doctor's office.
14:50 - 14:56
So if you are prone to, you know, flu season,
14:57 - 14:59
um you, this might be great.
