  1. Kiara.
  2. Hi there. It's James here.
  3. I wanted just to connect with you very briefly about, uh,
  4. an update to do with professional practise communities or PP CS for term three.
  5. This year
  6. you'll recall this diagram
  7. and I show this to you again because at the top right hand corner,
  8. this is where PP CS
  9. are part of our whole teacher learning
  10. the Shia.
  11. I've got a video for you to watch that
  12. just outlines what a professional practise community is.
  13. And that's a generic one to do with business education
  14. could be medical anything.
  15. And then I've got a handout for you to have a look through,
  16. which describes how our professional practise community could work here at Kaka.
  17. Um,
  18. what's important for you to know is that
  19. the way to access your professional practise community,
  20. uh, is through tario?
  21. And this is our sign
  22. Torito.
  23. Now, don't panic, because access will be given to you soon.
  24. We have to set up your education sector, lock in
  25. through, uh, compass through torito,
  26. and they will come likely through the holidays.
  27. Once you have got access, you'll be able to go in
  28. and see something that looks like this
  29. you log into
  30. three
  31. talk
  32. and you'll see
  33. in this box here the group
  34. or the P PC group that you're in,
  35. and it looks like three hands holding
  36. hands together,
  37. and that is where you'll click on that and you'll be able to
  38. go from there.
  39. That's where the zoom link will be. That's where your conversations will be.
  40. That's where you can share videos. Um, PDF S,
  41. um ideas. Questions like a forum, an online forum.
  42. Um, and the more you interact both, um on zoom,
  43. which would be three times
  44. over term three,
  45. two Tuesdays and one Wednesday.
  46. And the more you interact outside of those zoom meetings
  47. where you might upload videos and pose questions,
  48. the more this community can be really supportive to you and your learning.
  49. And really, you can be supporting other teachers in their practise as well.
  50. Please be patient.
  51. As we work through this, there is, um, going to be some teething challenges.
  52. Each community, uh, has varying sizes.
  53. Each community will want to take it a certain direction,
  54. Um, and that
  55. the direction I've given some guidelines
  56. in this in this handout, which kind of, uh,
  57. gives you some freedom for the group to go into a certain direction,
  58. but also gives you some boundaries around.
  59. If it doesn't stick with these principles, then in fact,
  60. it's not a professional practise community.
  61. So there's some things we had to keep in mind As you watch the video,
  62. have a look at the reading,
  63. have a discussion
  64. and think about what it will take for you as a teacher to really make your
  65. group work and what you need from your
  66. other fellow teachers to make your community work.
  67. So be patient with your facilitator. They are learning,
  68. as I am learning as you are learning in
  69. this, uh, new space.
  70. Um,
  71. that's it for me. Please take time to look at the video
  72. and I'll do the reading.
  73. And, uh,
  74. I've got a paddler activity at the end just to kind of capture
  75. the kind of things that we need as teachers to make this whole,
  76. uh, wonderful learning opportunity work.
  77. Go well. Have a good break. Uh,
  78. catch you on the other side. No
  79. kit
