00:00 - 00:01
Hi, I'm Daniel.
00:02 - 00:03
Zinc and counseling at the Greenhouse.
00:03 - 00:07
I am here to talk to my educators today about
00:08 - 00:10
burnout. What is it?
00:11 - 00:12
Do you have it?
00:12 - 00:13
And how can I help?
00:15 - 00:15
So let's burn out.
00:16 - 00:20
Burnout is caused by extreme and prolonged occupational stress.
00:22 - 00:22
A big surprise.
00:23 - 00:26
Teachers have had a lot of that this year.
00:27 - 00:34
Burnouts. His symptoms include negativity, cynicism, physical exhaustion, mental and
00:34 - 00:39
emotional exhaustion, depression, difficulty sleeping.
00:40 - 00:43
Having small things irritate you that wouldn't have irritated you
00:43 - 00:44
in the past.
00:45 - 00:46
Feeling ineffective at your job.
00:47 - 00:49
And those are just some of the symptoms.
00:50 - 00:52
Educators. I don't know that I have to say it,
00:52 - 00:57
but teachers are particularly vulnerable this year because of covid
00:58 - 01:00
virtual school, Our own Children.
01:01 - 01:03
Um, dealing with all of the stress put on us
01:03 - 01:10
by legislators and the expectations from parents, students, administrators as
01:10 - 01:13
to what what we are doing with nothing else taken
01:14 - 01:14
off the plate.
01:15 - 01:17
Um, So I want you to think through some of
01:17 - 01:20
those symptoms and just think, Are you experiencing any symptoms
01:20 - 01:21
of burnout?
01:23 - 01:25
So how can I help if you are?
01:26 - 01:30
I am an educator myself, with over 12 years experience
01:30 - 01:31
working in schools.
01:32 - 01:34
I have been in the middle school English teacher, middle
01:34 - 01:35
school counselor and high school counselor.
01:37 - 01:40
So I understand what the environment is like and what
01:40 - 01:41
the pressures are.
01:41 - 01:45
What I know is that burnout is neuro biological.
01:46 - 01:48
It is based in the brain.
01:49 - 01:52
It affects our bodies in a physical way.
01:52 - 01:54
It is not just an emotional response.
01:56 - 02:00
That is why I think something like brain spotting, which
02:01 - 02:04
is a neuro biological therapy I offer, is a good
02:05 - 02:06
way to address Burnham.
02:08 - 02:11
It can help target the source of the emotion and
02:11 - 02:14
the stress, the memories to help you regulate yourself and
02:14 - 02:15
to feel better.
02:17 - 02:19
I would love to work with all of my educators
02:20 - 02:24
to help you cope with what you're dealing with and
02:24 - 02:25
help resolve some of these symptoms of burnout.
02:27 - 02:30
Feel free to text me anytime to schedule, or I
02:30 - 02:32
am happy to have a phone call to talk about
02:32 - 02:34
if this would be a good fit for you.
02:34 - 02:38
I have Friday evening and Saturday availability, and I look
02:38 - 02:39
forward to hearing from you.
02:39 - 02:40
Take care
