  5. So in 56 we, um, come to the signing of
  6. the marriage contracts of you, Jeannie and Andrea.

  19. had been found.
  20. And inside a pocket of that vest was a letter
  21. to the anglers.
  22. And he says that first he took the letter to
  23. feel for it because it was evidence in a crime.
  24. And, um, but now he had the letter, um, was
  25. bringing into the anglers and, um, Andrea Cavalcanti.
  26. We know what that letter says.
  27. Remember that the letter says that, um, Bernadette or the
  28. Andrea Cavalcanti is really a man named Benedetto who is
  29. a criminal and that Benedetto is the one who murdered
  30. him. So as the counts talking Andrea slash Benedetto kind
  31. of sneakily gets out of there.
  32. Um and, um, they're all looking for him.
  33. Like, where did he go?
  34. His It's his turn to sign the paperwork.
  35. Whatever. Um, when the police arrive and they realized, um
  36. all that, like, all of it, comes to light that
  37. Oh, Andrea is Benedetto.
  38. And he was about to be arrested, but he ran
  39. and got away.
  40. Um, in the next chapter, um, we have we see
  41. a scene.
  42. A really lovely scene, by the way, Between you, Jeannie
  43. and Louise, where, um, this is the first time we
  44. really get to meet and understand your genie.
  45. Um, yeah, which you could, um, read into with your
  46. feminist criticism lens if you were so inclined.
  47. Um, but in this scene, we see that you, Jeannie
  48. and Louise had had a plan to run away together
  49. before you.
  50. Jeannie was forced to marry under a Cavalcanti.
  51. Um, And now that the wedding is off, Louise is
  52. like, Are you like, what are you gonna do?
  53. And genius like, uh, you know, I don't want to
  54. wait around for them to marry me off to somebody
  55. else. So let's just run away together.
  56. So they have a little romantic moment where they're packing
  57. up their bags, They have a false passport, um, to,
  58. um, sneak out of the country and get away.
  59. And they're going to go, um, be artists and be
  60. together, and it's really quite sweet.
  61. Um, so they run away together in that, um, in
  62. that paragraph or in that chapter And the next chapter,
  63. um, really is just an action sequence.
  64. It's really interesting if you're into it.
  65. Um, you kind of see that at the same in
  66. All of these people are there at the same time.
  67. Um, all these people who are leaving Paris because everything's
  68. gone to crap around them.
  69. Um, and, um, it's but it's really just more of
  70. an action sequence where we see that the police chase
  71. Andrea Cavalcanti to that in, um and he, um, is
  72. trying to escape, but they catch him, they end up
  73. catching him, and they send him back to, um be
  74. imprisoned because they have proof that he was the murder
  75. of kangaroos.
  76. And so they catch him and sent him to prison
  77. in this chapter, and that is the end of Chapter
  78. 58. So that's 56 57 58 we'll pick up in
  79. the next video with the next 100 pages or so.
