00:00 - 00:04
Hey, so this is my project on how to develop
00:04 - 00:05
a perfect memory.
00:07 - 00:12
Um This book is by Dominic O'brien and there's just
00:13 - 00:13
my name.
00:13 - 00:21
Um So okay to answer the first question, I do
00:22 - 00:25
believe that O'brien is an expert in this field because
00:26 - 00:30
he is an eight time world memory champion.
00:31 - 00:36
Um which I think is pretty impressive and I think
00:37 - 00:43
that um he must you know be an expert to
00:43 - 00:45
be that successful in this field.
00:46 - 00:53
Um so this book was published in 1994 Um and
00:54 - 00:57
the book itself is 176 pages.
00:58 - 01:04
Um the summary includes the five major steps of how
01:04 - 01:08
to develop a perfect memory um as well as there
01:08 - 01:12
are multiple like principal templates and worksheets and different pages
01:12 - 01:17
that you can print too um help you along as
01:18 - 01:18
you're reading.
01:21 - 01:26
Um So the main points of the summary um are
01:26 - 01:29
to kind of break down the five steps of developing
01:30 - 01:32
a perfect memory and just kind of going into detail
01:32 - 01:37
of each one um and just making sure that they
01:37 - 01:43
really break it down and provide examples and um Just
01:43 - 01:45
clearly describe each one.
01:47 - 01:52
Um and the five steps include um the versus the
01:53 - 01:53
journey method.
01:55 - 02:02
The second is linking, The 3rd is association, The 4th
02:02 - 02:10
is the dominant method And the 5th is reviewing um
02:10 - 02:12
And so along with the five steps like I said,
02:13 - 02:16
there are examples of each one um So it can
02:17 - 02:23
give you um kind of like um a basic example
02:25 - 02:29
of each one and kind of how um each one
02:31 - 02:36
what each one's role is into helping you um better
02:37 - 02:43
your memory and just like describing its purpose.
02:46 - 02:50
Um So personally my biggest takeaway from this book is
02:50 - 02:53
that I've always been one that has struggled a lot
02:53 - 02:55
with the king that I have an awful memory and
02:56 - 02:58
just thinking that that's just part of who I am
02:58 - 03:01
and that um I like there's nothing I can really
03:01 - 03:02
do to fix it.
03:03 - 03:08
Um But by reading this book um I did have
03:09 - 03:12
the takeaway of there are things that you can do
03:13 - 03:18
to improve your memory and that um it's not just
03:18 - 03:20
a part of who you are and you can control
03:21 - 03:24
it and you can better yourself and that there are
03:25 - 03:26
ways to improve.
03:28 - 03:31
Um So kind of going along with that um I
03:31 - 03:34
did choose this book for my project because I did
03:35 - 03:38
think that out of all the different options that this
03:38 - 03:41
would be the most beneficial to me um Considering that
03:41 - 03:44
um my struggle with my memory is a big part
03:45 - 03:49
of um like me being a student and just me
03:50 - 03:55
and my everyday life um I was really excited to
03:56 - 04:00
see how this would help me in um the parts
04:00 - 04:05
of you know, studying and everything that I struggle with.
04:07 - 04:11
Um So I do think that I'm going to her
04:11 - 04:13
that I plan to use this information in my day
04:13 - 04:14
to day life.
04:15 - 04:23
Um Obviously I think that working on my memory is
04:23 - 04:28
super important and super beneficial and I think that um
04:28 - 04:32
being able to learn this information and use it in
04:32 - 04:33
my day to day life is going to help me
04:34 - 04:38
a lot um with like developing a better memory and
04:39 - 04:42
helping me just improve overall.
04:43 - 04:49
Um and I do think that this information is helpful
04:49 - 04:52
for others because obviously I'm sure that there are people
04:52 - 04:56
like me that struggle with their memory and that thing
04:56 - 04:58
but there's nothing they can do about it and that's
04:58 - 04:59
just part of who they are.
05:00 - 05:04
Um But I think that having this information is going
05:04 - 05:10
to help them um better themselves and become more confident
05:10 - 05:15
in themselves and with their ability to remember different information
05:16 - 05:21
and just um kind of help them overcome their insecurities.
05:23 - 05:28
Mhm. Um And lastly I I do think that this
05:28 - 05:32
book was included in this project because it um talks
05:33 - 05:37
about a very important part of um to this day
05:38 - 05:42
to day life and especially being a student um I
05:42 - 05:45
spent like in college or even um in high school
05:45 - 05:48
or even like elementary school, a bit up to grad
05:49 - 05:50
school, everything in between.
05:51 - 05:55
Um I do think that this book was included because
05:56 - 06:03
it can be very helpful too many people who as
06:03 - 06:10
I've said like struggle with their memory and mm just
06:10 - 06:13
overall I think that this book is very beneficial for
06:14 - 06:18
many people and each person can kind of take bits
06:18 - 06:23
and pieces or use all of it um to help
06:24 - 06:32
them um work on themselves and to develop a yeah,
06:32 - 06:35
maybe not perfect, but definitely a better memory.
06:36 - 06:38
Um So yeah.
06:39 - 06:39
Thank you.
