00:00 - 00:04
happy holidays students and welcome back from break.
00:04 - 00:09
I hope you had an amazing time getting some rest. I myself had an amazing time.
00:09 - 00:11
I've been with family this entire week,
00:11 - 00:14
hence the change in background and took a year some jingling going around.
00:14 - 00:16
That is not the sound of reindeers,
00:16 - 00:18
but instead that are some sounds of some adorable
00:18 - 00:21
golden doodles just trapeze in throughout the house,
00:21 - 00:25
although some might say they are the same equivalency of some reindeers.
00:25 - 00:29
Um anyway, I hope that you all had an amazing time of rest.
00:29 - 00:32
Like I said this week we are diving into the final act
00:32 - 00:35
of our class and that's kind of a big tall order.
00:35 - 00:39
So over the break you were offered the opportunity to work on
00:39 - 00:43
your extra credit and so that needs to be turned in tonight.
00:43 - 00:44
So it's kind of give you that blurb.
00:45 - 00:48
I also want to let you know that I sent an email to MS Mcbeal.
00:48 - 00:51
There is an opportunity for extra credit that I
00:51 - 00:54
posted his announcement over the break as well.
00:54 - 00:57
Please make sure you check that out. It's an event happening tomorrow.
00:57 - 00:59
If you're looking for a little bit of extra credit,
00:59 - 01:03
maybe just to learn a little bit more in honor of native american history month.
01:03 - 01:04
So check those things out
01:05 - 01:09
now. Um, now onto the big thing. So we are working on our argument paper.
01:09 - 01:13
So there's a lot of moving parts of this and it's pretty quick paced.
01:13 - 01:16
So hopefully you took some time over the break to
01:16 - 01:19
get your paper done if you haven't done that.
01:19 - 01:22
I'm gonna be honest Stewart a little bit behind, but we can make that happen.
01:22 - 01:25
So let's just kind of go through what's going to happen this week.
01:25 - 01:31
So it's pretty unstructured in the sense that the goal is to get the paper done,
01:31 - 01:32
what I've offered him,
01:32 - 01:34
what's going to be found in the modules is simply
01:34 - 01:36
just information providing what we're going to be doing.
01:36 - 01:39
Maybe some ways to help tie things in.
01:39 - 01:41
I'm also going to try to make videos, not daily,
01:41 - 01:45
but close to it to kind of give you some information on how to be successful there.
01:46 - 01:47
Um in addition.
01:47 - 01:48
Um so, so yeah,
01:48 - 01:52
so this week is mainly about drafting your paper that's kind of your main goal.
01:52 - 01:54
So you want to create a draft a working draft.
01:54 - 02:00
Now, what that should turn into is hopefully by friday, you've got five pages done.
02:00 - 02:01
That is a lot.
02:01 - 02:03
Now, if I was being honest,
02:03 - 02:06
I would say you should try to have about seven pages done that.
02:06 - 02:09
We are really just truly just revising next week.
02:09 - 02:13
However, I also am aware you have a lot of things going on that might not happen.
02:13 - 02:17
So a goal that you need to set is five pages done
02:17 - 02:20
that's gonna help you be the most successful in order to be
02:20 - 02:22
I'm prepared for next week's um
02:22 - 02:23
final steps.
02:23 - 02:27
So I have heard from everyone on their aren't paper this,
02:27 - 02:29
maybe a couple people that I'm still holding out on,
02:29 - 02:32
make sure that I've approved your topic. I want to make sure you're successful.
02:32 - 02:35
That's the only reason why I'm being nit picky. So
02:35 - 02:38
Um there's a couple details there now on the modules,
02:38 - 02:41
there's gonna be a lot of steps of what to do, how to go through things.
02:41 - 02:45
The biggest thing here check out part five of the writer's mindset,
02:45 - 02:47
that's gonna be chapters, let me just confirm.
02:47 - 02:51
And those chapters, I want two chapters 19 through 22,
02:51 - 02:52
yep,
02:52 - 02:56
chapters 19 through 22 of the writers mindset definitely take some extra time
02:56 - 02:59
to review those things that's going to do what I've already said and dive
02:59 - 03:03
into some more detail is gonna provide some extra information and of course
03:03 - 03:06
please should be sure to reach out to me and ask for help.
03:06 - 03:09
Um One thing I want to remind you of is the is reaching out
03:09 - 03:11
to me for looking at your paper
03:11 - 03:14
and having conversations um specifically zoom appointments.
03:14 - 03:17
That is something I have had throughout the semester.
03:17 - 03:19
Not many students have taken that opportunity,
03:19 - 03:21
but I wanted to remind you especially its final two weeks,
03:21 - 03:25
how helpful that could be for you to reach out to me for me to schedule,
03:25 - 03:27
zoom in with you so we can look at your paper.
03:28 - 03:31
I highly recommend you do that. Take advantage of that opportunity.
03:31 - 03:35
Just make sure you email me just because you know we don't live in the same area.
03:35 - 03:37
I'm not meeting with you live.
03:37 - 03:40
It's gonna be difficult for me to guarantee those times.
03:40 - 03:43
But make sure you reach out to me, I will move mountains,
03:43 - 03:45
especially this final two weeks to make sure that I meet with you.
03:46 - 03:49
Obviously the best times are going to be in the evening or after
03:49 - 03:52
school because I am also a full cuts full time english teacher.
03:52 - 03:55
So that would be something to be mindful of as well.
03:55 - 04:00
In terms of reviewing drafts, I'm more than happy to review drafts.
04:00 - 04:06
I would love to see by the end of this week at least one body paragraph of your work.
04:06 - 04:10
I would love to look at more, but I can dive deep into at least one in paragraphs.
04:10 - 04:13
Please send me what you've got. I want to know what you're doing.
04:13 - 04:14
I want to make sure successful.
04:14 - 04:16
I want to help you out and those students who reach
04:16 - 04:19
out to me often do much better on their papers.
04:19 - 04:20
Okay.
04:20 - 04:22
So I think that hits and now just for the updates in the week,
04:22 - 04:25
I'm going to make another video in a second and that's
04:25 - 04:28
gonna be diving into specifically what we're doing for monday.
04:28 - 04:30
So have a good day everyone. Bye.
